Janeane Garofalo Wonders: Is Herman Cain Being Paid By Racists to Run for the Presidency?

Janeane Garofalo Wonders if Herman Cain Paid to Run by Racists At this point, predicting what actress, comedian, defunct Air America host and all-around political Tea Party theorist Janeane Garofalo will say isn’t the toughest task in the world.

We know, from her past attacks on conservatives, that she believes the Tea Party is racist and that she simply cannot stomach the GOP. But, on Wednesday night, Garofalo made some new accusations worth noting.

In an appearance on Keith Olbermann’s “Countdown” program, the ultra-left leaning Garofalo, once again, dubbed the Tea Party a “fundamentalist” racist movement. But, she also set her targets on Herman Cain, the African American businessman who is seeking the GOP nomination. According to Garofalo, Cain is either being paid by racists to run or he’s suffering from Stockholm syndrome.

Of course, Stockholm syndrome is a term used to describe a psychological issue that arises when hostages begin to express sympathy and empathy toward their captors. In making this statement, the comedian is attempting to say that Cain’s race is incompatible with the party line he is running on. Thus, he’s either being prompted by racists or suffering a psychological meltdown as a result of the Republican Party’s oppression. Apparently, those are the only two options. She says:

“[He's] in this presidential race because he deflects the racism that is inherit in the Republican party, the conservative movement, the Tea Party certainly. [In] the last 30 years the Republican party has been moving more and more to the right, but also race-baiting more. Gay-baiting more. Religion-baiting more.

But, Herman Cain, I feel like, is being paid by somebody to be involved and to run for president so that you go like ‘I love that, that can’t be racist. He’s a black guy, a black guy asking for Obama being impeached.’ Or ‘it’s a black guy whose anti-Muslim. It’s a black guy who is a Tea Party guy.’”

Janeane Garafalo is a racist, like many on the left, they see skin color and nothing else. She isn’t intelligent enough to have a conversation on the issues facing America today so she resorts to what she knows, bigotry.

I am a conservative and love to hear Garafalo talk because everyone needs a good laugh as you should laugh when West talks.   Now, knowing we’re all racists; how does that adversely affect the fact that well over 30% of Americans cannot raise their children properly, leading to crime and poor standards of living and a drag on the American economy?

  Am I wrong? What if Al Sharpton had made the same comments Garofalo did? Then the difference wouldn’t even be a racial one between one side and the other.
  
  Seriously; West is playing with race as much as the liberals are. Just because he’s a Tea Party member doesn’t change it. I completely agreed with his comments about the black community needing to shape up yesterday, but I had to laugh when I read him calling himself a new Harriet Tubman. That was a logical concern for one of the poorest sectors of our society; this is West trying to use his race as a bargaining chip. I had enough of that with Obama, thanks.

  True story…I have a friend that bought a French Bull Dog three years ago. I went with him to pick it up in the next state as his wife was in her ninth month and couldn’t travel. On the way back I was holding the puppy and asked him what the dogs name was going to be? He said they hadn’t decided yet. How it popped into my head I can’t rememeber but I said I like Garafalo. The whole way home I called the dog Garafalo and to this day that’s the dog’s name. His wife asked me a couple months latter how I came up with such a great name and I just looked her and said…Sue…really…Janeane Garafalo. She called me an idiot.

  The difference to me is that Garofalo is talking about a group that she does not belong to, did not grow up in and feels should be in her pocket just because.
  West is talking about HIS community and their inability, as he sees it, to pull themselves up by their OWN bootstraps because of a culture of believing there is am oppressor that even hard work cannot overcome. Therefore Sharpton and his ilk make a living saying, it’s the white conservatives keeping you down and until they are destroyed you have no hope.
  
  Personally I’ll take the word of the people who have lived it, West, Cain, Cosby etc. that say you CAN do it but you have to be willing to do some heavy lifting.

  Your analogy misses the point entirely. Rep Allen’s statement rings true, check it out for yourself. Allen is not the first person to point out the fact that minorities foolishly devote themselves to the democrat party but ultimately end up getting screwed by democrat polices.
  
  Garafalo ‘s statement that Allen must be ‘getting paid’ or is suffering from ‘Stockholm syndrome’ is just plain-old wacko tin-foil hat stuff, not a shred of truth to it.

  Your response is probably one of the best I’ve seen on this topic, truth be told. I agree, the crucial difference is who people are holding responsible for their present condition… and who they think can change it. One thing most people would agree upon: the black community in the US, by and large, is worse off than the white community. That’s why I completely agreed with West’s statements on that the other day.
  
  What I disagree with is how best to help people out of it. I like Bill Cosby’s advice as well: you need to help yourself out. But West is making himself out to be a pied piper of the black community, come to steal away the slaves of the welfare state. In doing so, he’s not saying “You need to help yourself,” he’s saying “you need to support me, because I (and the GOP) can help you.” Sharpton does the same thing.
  
  Point being: it’s politics in the end for these two. They want to score points, and people overlook the fact that race is being used as a political volleyball when their own favorites are doing it, yet are more than happy to point out when the other side does so.

Allen West is a black man who has seen the black experience in this country (unlike Obama who was born to a foreign national, dumped by both his father and his mother and raised by this mother’s white family and should claim only a peripheral immersion in the black experience in this country). Col. West grew up a black man, in a black family in America that has been here for generations. When he speaks of black people uncoupling themselves from the government teat that the democrats have dangled before them for decades, he’s speaking from first hand experience.

  You are doomed to ignorance when you cannot critically and honestly form an argument. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson live off of racial division. Allen West is pointing it out.   I used to work for a cousin of hers. He told me she was like the black sheep of the family (just an expression, liberals, no racial intentions!).   Perhaps West is talking about leading them out of this modern day slavery because he now has a national voice and unlike the others who have achieved such an audience, he is willing to stand up for the black community and call them on all of this…not continue to support it, even if only by silence. He’s willing to step out there and say this is NOT ok and hope he can inspire people. Don’t know the man, maybe it is a political ploy, but I don’t believe so. You hear people every day asking why muslims don’t speak out against radical Islam…and why don’t black leaders speak out against the violence and dependence of the black community.   Jeanne should look in the mirror when she is talking about hate groups. She is forever lumping everyone into groups. In her mind, intelligent Blacks, Women, Gays, etc. are only allowed to be Democrat; otherwise they must be ignorant or have psychological problems.
  
  Furthermore, I never appreciate the analysis of someone who is on the outside looking in. It’s kind of like if you want to know what a Catholic believes, read the Catechism or ask a knowledgeable Catholic. Don’t go ask an Atheist. Jeanne isn’t part of the tea party, how can she pretend to know who they are, what they believe or think? Let people speak for themselves and then take them at their word unless their actions demonstrate something different. Jeanne is forever making things up or perhaps more likely, reflecting her own deep hatred for these groups she claims tea partiers hate.
  
  Like I said, Jeanne needs a good long look in the mirror. Keep her comments to what she knows. She obviously doesn’t have a clue about tea partiers or folks who are fed up with politics as usual. Many of us are changing to Libertarian because too often Republicans are just as bad as Democrats.   Look at history. It was WHITE Democrats who would not vote for the black man to have the right to vote. Not a single Democrat. Then once they discovered Welfare, they decided they could use the blacks to get themselves elected. That’s the definition of slavery. But I don’t think it’s just about race anymore. The Democrats like everyone to be dependent on them, so they’ll vote for them. They buy votes with government handouts. The first instance is racism and the second isn’t and can’t be. The democraps make it impossible not to talk about race, because racism, whether it be the soft bigotry of low expectations, or the entrapment on the democrap plantation in generational welfare, it is a very important tool for them. Their political viability, and indeed their personal economic futures depend on keeping race relations poor. It the race issue (the issue not necessarily the fact) went away, the democrap party would go away.

  There is a flaw in your analysis. The white woman accused someone of being racist without any evidence, and accuses an entire group of people (Tea Party) of being racist without any evidence. Her allegations have no basis, no substance, no evidence, are just flights of her imagination, and not very intelligent ones either. Allen West is himself a black man and is trying to tell blacks — who mostly primarily vote Democrat — (let me repeat that: it is a fact that blacks overwhelmingly vote Democrat — that’s a fact — everyone knows it — there are stats on it) — anyway, West is trying to tell blacks that the Democrat Party is keeping them on the plantation through welfare entitlement programs.   As to Herman Caine, I find him smart, gracious, and possessing humility. I’m still not sure,who I’d like to see get the GOP nomination. I find it a very strong field. As to Col Allen West—be still my heart. He exudes leadership. Leadership by example, not some dopey hopey changey fluff, but rather substance.

Herman Cain is a respected, former CEO of Godfathers Pizza and is running for President because his belief is this country needs to change and is headed down the wrong path. Millions of Americans feel as Herman Cain does and the Tea Party is one of them. I happen to be a 64 yr old white, retired, former Asst. to a President of a major home and hospice care company. My husband and I vote conservative and would never care about what ANY biased, hollywood ‘elitist’ spew.
