Comedian Katt Williams Is Not Directly Apologizing for ‘Anti-Mexican’ Rant

Actor and comedian Katt Williams went on a wild rant on stage last weekend in Phoenix, including a heated exchange with a heckler of Mexican descent in the crowd.

Some have perceived his routine to be xenophobic. Williams has clarified since the show that he does not want his comments to be taken as hateful towards Mexicans, but stands by a lot of what he said.

“I meant what I said and I said what I meant,” Williams said to CNN.

Reuters reports that Williams has stressed as a comedian, he cannot apologize for a performance, drawing a sharp line between what is said on stage and his true feelings.

“If a person starts their heckling with F–America, then that gives me the right to defend my country. I couldn’t be Anti-Mexican, my Mexican fan base is largely responsible for me even existing……..I don’t think I need to apologize for being pro-American.”

Williams has stepped away from the orignal apology released by his publicist last week.

Williams has had several run-ins with the law over the last two years, including being kicked out of a Young Jeezy concert for fighting on August 25.

What is wrong with loving your country? What is wrong with putting a man in place for interrupting your work? The guy is a comedian his job is to talk this guy just interrupts him then insults our country and tries to claim America is Mexico? We need to place people like him back in Mexico so they can be terrorized by the drug cartels. He was 100% right(Katt) in telling that dude off.

Who decided to claim Katt was ‘Anti-Mexican’ because he was defending his country????
How much longer are we going to have to deal with the absolute ignorance of the masses who do NOT understand the difference between ILLEGAL and LEGAL ???
Or the stunning difference between Race vs Citizenship ? Had this Mexican been a proud a American citizen ( And Yes, a Mexican-American, but who really gives a crap about your “heritage” except you, your family, and a few racist friends. So move on with your life and be productive. ) He would have enjoyed the show, kept his pie-hole shut, until it came the time to defend America from some other ILLEGAL racist.
      Seriously Already !!!!
We are ALL human beings !!!!
This is about American Citizenship and Allegiance!!!
This should have nothing to do with skin color or country of origin !!!

Yeah that whole mexican landscaper ‘joke’ was kind of offensive. I am not mexican and it rubbed me the wrong way. The rest of the bit was funny and surprisingly patriotic, but that landscaper joke was best left in his thoughts.

My only thought about this is: If you were offended “GOOD” you should be aware that you are part of the problem. GET OVER IT! then go away! You’re in the wrong country! This is America and we can say what we feel. the minute we have to sensor our own speech is the moment we lose our soul to a politically correct ideology!

Katt Williams is a brilliant comedian! I have all his published material. The mexican national (most likely an illegal) that was bantering him needs to be deported back to his homeland. BRAVO!! KAT WILLIAMS!! I am surprised he didn’t have that person physically removed from the audience.

Sit back and watch the show, as it is going to be good in the near future. Hispanics are about to outnumber blacks as our biggest minority (may already have).

there will be some real fighting going on between the two in the future. If I was a gambling man, I would lay money down that the hispanic crowd will fare better when it happens.

The libs need to realy push hard to try to get hispanics on thier side, as they would hate to have them see clearly and be conservative.

the democrats social programs have all but destroyed many black Americans. When you look at the staggering number that are on welfare, in prison, abort babies. The MSM placates them, MTV pimps them, democrats own them. Good bad or ugly, most hispanics I know, work hard, and support thier families. Tomika and Tyrone aint going to be happy with a new show in town. What will they do if the federal gov has to start placating hispanics, and not the blacks? Kind of like the cute kid that grows up to be fat, lazy and ugly, and sponges off mom and day. Before long, they aint real cute anymore.

I have never listened to a comedian that didn’t manage to offend someone in their routine. Katt isn’t my style of comedy; but I defend his right to practice his craft. If you don’t like his humor don’t go to his show. Personally, I think the landscaper joke was a commentary on the work ethic of the Mexican community. They aren’t afraid of hard work. I see it more a compliment than an insult. God Bless us all.

I applaud your parents who came here LEGALLY and obtained their citizenship in the proper manner. You can be very proud of them and your heritage.

It is the flood of illegal immigrants from Mexico who are causing the problems. With many of them come Drug Cartel affiliation, Kidnappings, Drunken driving resulting is deadly accidents and a general disrespect for our laws. Notice I said MANY but not ALL. There are honest hard working illegal aliens who never cause trouble, however they are still ILLEGAL.

Go figure. Finally, a non-white from the entertainment industry steps up to defend our precious Republic and stands firm on his principles! If I were him, I’d fire that publicist pronto. Maybe he already has. I hope this comedian will remain standing firm, and not back down. But then there are those members of state-run/mainstream media who exhibit their hatred for America and God every time they open their mouths. My guess is they will go after this comedian with gusto, raking up everything they can to denigrate him. If this comedian had reacted to something else, not involving America, the media and others probably wouldn’t say a darn thing about it. But love of our Republic and God are now considered a no-no by most in state-run media, Congress, and the government. Reckon the NAACP and Congressional Black Caucus will come to the defense of this black comedian when the America-haters start going after him? Not.

He didn’t say a single word about Hispanics, he was talking about Mexicans. Mexico is a country, not a race. Just like America is not a race, it is a country. Stupid Mexicans cannot tell the difference between a race and a country. This is why we should not allow them here without permission and the proper paperwork and tests – we don’t need that kind of ignorance here, we have quite enough of it already, thank you very much. This is not hate speech, it isn’t even borderline hate speech, there is no hatred in what he said whatsoever, nor in what I have said. No one sincerely thinks this is hate speech, they are just trying to blur the line and confuse the issue by tossing out red herrings.
