Report: Secret Recordings Uncovered in ‘Fast and Furious’ Case

CBS News has posted what it claims is a secret recording between a senior ATF Agent and an Arizona gun store owner at the heart of the botched operation “Fast and Furious” weapons sting. The tape could be proof that the ATF tried to suppress evidence found at the crime scene of murdered U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry.

Recorded around March 2011, the tape is the work of Andre Howard, owner of Lone Wolf Trading Company in Glendale, Arizona– which was the primary gun dealer cooperating with ATF in “Operation Fast and Furious.” On the tape, Howard is talking with the lead case ATF Case Agent Hope MacAllister, according to CBS.

Note the discussion included the admission of three weapons found.

This is significant because it means the ATF might have known months ago that there were three Fast and Furious-linked guns, not two, found near U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry after he was killed in a shootout with cartel criminals.

Originally, court records only showed two “AK-47-style” weapons linked to Fast and Furious were part of the investigation. And a ballistics report turned over to Congress months ago also only indicated two Fast and Furious associated weapons.

If a new ballistics test shows the missing third gun was in fact the one used to gun down the U.S. Border Agent, it would be hard to argue that evidence was not intentionally suppressed to avoid scandal.

Apparently, the Justice Department’s Inspector General obtained the audio tape discussing the number of weapons several months ago, and for some yet-to-be-determined reason, handed them over to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Arizona — a primary subject itself of the Fast and Furious investigation.

CBS has asked the pertinent question: ”It’s unclear why the Inspector General, who is supposed to investigate independently, would turn over evidence to an entity that is itself under investigation.”

Increasingly, the answer appears to be a cover-up that stretches widely across the government and reaches up into the highest echelons of power.

In a national election year, a cabinet-level resignation due to scandal would be very politically damaging. For Operation “Fast and Furious,” it appears robust Congressional oversight measures will be required to get anywhere near the truth.

  You are correct. Convict them here first, then let them be tried in Mexico for an act of war against that country. Then, if they imprison them, wait till they serve it out, lock ‘em up here. Then, there is always the chance that Mexico will stand ‘em against the wall. Ready aim………………

  Corruption is the mildest of charges in this case, conspiracy and treason, usurption of authority and the arming of known enemies of the US and allied nations…the list may go on without end for some time.
  
  This is a mess bigger than either Iran-Contra under Reagan or the WaterGate under Nixon; and even the White Water matters of Clinton.
  
  Unfortunatly so long as the Democrats hold onto power in the Senate, there is a zero chance of any kind of efforts at impeachment coming to the floor let alone not being shelfed right off by Reid. So Mr Obama can only resign and we all know the likely chances of that actually happening.

  Do you really believe that Obumbler and Evil Holder would participate in a crime and a cover up? After all they swore an oath to uphold the constitution and enforce the laws of the land. They had stated that the guns used by the Mexican drug cartels came from the US and they wer just trying to prove it.

  So much for “Human Rights” for Mexican Nationals; There are so many Mass graves being uncovered in Mexico, if our No-Justice Dept. was arming both sides, It needs to be sent to the Hague, (& I don’t normally believe in the International Criminal Court but here’s an exception) This is on a level of the Balkans and Saddam’s mass graves! This is exactly the kind of crap ‘Big Government’ concocts. A few months back before the F&F debacle broke, I remember Hillary, Big Sister, and even Holder making remarks regarding “all these cartel weapons coming from Americans making ‘straw-purchases’ at gun shows”, etc. The entire time, law abiding Americans were being blamed for this whole ordeal….Odd that it turns out, our own government was behind the entire thing!

  The guns were shown to have come from other latin american countries not US straw purchases.
  The purpose of the sales to Mexico was to prove their allegations. Then they could regulate gun sales along the border and eventually other states.

I really never paid any attention to the ATF – until Waco incident and when they shot Randy Weaver’s wife and child. To me – I think this was a set up to try and prove guns from America were being funneled into Mexico – so they (US Government) could use the info to tighten gun control laws. It will be interesting to see all the names involved in this program and all of their communication on this activity (this includes all staff members as well) and match them to the supporters of gun control laws. Here is another department that can be eliminated.

  The ATF attemted to serve the original search warrant at Waco – after they messed it up beyond all belief the FBI took over and burned the place down and killed all those people. FBI did Ruby Ridge by themselves.

  Actually, the Justice Dept. has been corrupt since 1870 when the Attorney General became the Presidents man. Before that it was a part time job to administer legal advice to Congress and the President.

  Obama has ruined this Country and he will bow out of the running, WHY? All he has done so far is illegal and once that is proven by his not being a citizen of the USA, it could all be overturned. That is the reason he will bow out and Hillary will run for POTUS. She will cover his tracks and continue his agenda of the Progressive Liberal Democratic Party.
  On another important subject; it is just a matter of days now until the UN vote to make Palestine a State. Then the Israelis will show this communist USSA how to deal with the Muslims and this present administration.

  i hope you can dance for years, because there is no way this is going to be prosecuted,and there is no way obama will ever be tied to it, i know, i wish we could bring this whole lot of parasites down ,but with all of their crooked under handed tactics and paid soro’s judges,it will never happen, so i hope you have some really good dancing shoes and a lot of pain killers, you are going to be at it a long time,, good luck.

  CSG – They won’t be prosecuted until removed from office. And only then if someone releases a CYA file that links Holder and Obama to the crimes committed in our name.
  
  Expect Obama and Holder to burn all their files – They are both lawyers and know that file that no longer exists cannot be subpenaed.

  I agree! Between Fast & Furious, Solyndra, and LightSquared Obama is over his head in corruption. He needs to be brought up on criminal charges & the House needs to start Impeachment hearings NOW. America isn’t going to survive almost 500 days more of this kind of dirty business. Call your Representatives and ask them to start pushing for Obama’s impeachment please folks; I have!

  when a soros-sponsered leftist rag jumps into the fray it’s all over. obama is a fraud & failure, but he’s had a very productive couple of years from the progressives’ point of view.
  dem leadership wants barry to disappear – the msm wants another woodward/bernstein/watergate moment to re-establish their credibility & clout.
  barry can bow out before the democratic convention – siting a republican “distraction” via independent prosecutor – hand his base to hillary & live in comfort (somewhere other than the us) with a pardon and his “campaign contributions” in hand.

Prosecute them, it is that simple. Appoint a special prosecuter, investigate, if evidence warrants prosecution then it must be done.
