Zombie Muhammad? Atheist Attacked by Muslim During Halloween Parade

A Muslim attacked an Atheist marching in a local Pennsylvania Halloween parade Tuesday for wearing a “Zombie Muhammad” costume.

The Muslim man stormed out of the hometown crowd in Mechanicsburg and assaulted one of the Parading Atheists of Central Pennsylvania (PACP) who happened to be wearing the offending costume. The atheist in the Zombie Muhammad costume proclaimed he was the Prophet Muhammad, risen from the dead.

This proclamation and costume apparently offended the Muslim man enough to come out of the crowd, follow and harass the atheist, and then choke him. Subsequently, a police report was filed, and charges in the matter are pending.

The victim posted a video of the incident on YouTube, and in the description he writes:

Oct 11 2011 in the Machanicsburg City Parade I was attacked by a violent muslim IN AMERICA! This is proof that muslims want Sharia Law in America. He attacks me to pull my beard off so he could identify me and chokes me.

I understand many will say I deserved it, but no one has the right to abridge my freedom of speech and violence is never the answer to freedom of speech. Islam is a religion of Peace? not the case here.

Of course, some are questioning the wisdom of marching in a parade to intentionally offend a religious group, as well as the public relations value of such an activity. The intent, however, may not have necessarily been to offend, but merely to treat a sensitive issue with satire. Indeed, there was also a “Zombie Pope” who marched in the Halloween parade while claiming to be on the look out for little boys. Then again, many Catholics may have found that image quite offensive.

Therefore if God asks men “Children do you love me?” some men like the Prophets will fall down bowing to the Lord, and yet some men who are priests will cast out their nets from their ships to get more worshipers, and yet even other men think it means to violently spread religion, and yet even others thinks it means to push Atheism.   Originally Halloween was to ward off the evil spirits by wearing costumes of Saints. It has evolved into wearing obnoxious costumes that offend and are mostly evil. Just the opposite of the original intent. It was strange that no Catholic attack the person wearing the Pope outfit – thats the difference between muslims and Christians.

  @NHwinter, and the traditions around Easter are from a pagan ritual to honor the spring and pray for fertility of man and the land on which he sustains himself. The rabbit and the egg are ancient symbols of fertility and virility. Its pretty amazing how many people will have a problem with halloween but never stop to consider easter as pagan.

  SGTB – Easter/Christ’s death on the cross is not in any way pagan. Maybe some of the silly things like Easter bunnies and eggs have their origin in pagan tradition, but as I said, the churches changed those to have Christian meaning. A clever change.

  I don’t know what your objective is in your posts. Reasonable people don’t overlook bad deeds just because they are somehow associated with the offender through race, religion, or political standings. If someone condones bad behavior for that reason they aren’t worth the time IMO.
  
  My debating days on the blaze are over and I am fine with you being a liberal. I think we can agree on at least one thing. Conservatives who ignore, dismiss, or condone bad behavior because there associated with the perp are intellectually dishonest, as are those on the left who do the same thing.
  
  First thing you need to do when your lost in the woods is admit your lost, if you want a good outcome. If both parties continue to ignore their own problems it will just be more of the same.

  I simply don’t understand why there are people out there that don’t allow other people to worship whatever they care to worship in the ways each sees fit. It’s a big world out there with more things that we don’t understand than things that we do. So some guy walked the earth 1300 or 2000 or 10000 years ago and said “this is how things are.” Great. Lets follow his idea of what the meaning of life, the universe and everything is; throwing out a thousand year’s worth of learning and philosophizing.
  
  I think everybody should be forced to follow MY religion, which is “Figure it out for yourself, and don’t let another person tell you how it is.”

  Wisdomlight, I don’t feel, that you represent either. I will pray for you. Even though, I do not like the Muslim extremists, not every Muslim is one. I would like to know, why an Athesist, who belives in nothing, feels that they are the only ones with the truth. The truth is, that this group of people is offensive to just about everyone, who believes differently than they do, and because they don’t believe in anything, I guess they are nothing. It is time to stand up, for what is right and just in our Society, and stand up against these bullies. Muslims have just as many rights to live here as anyone else. Maybe, you should tell these Athesits, to go find an island, and live their lives out just the way they want. If find, that you and all the others who slammed the this Muslim man, really don’t understand what really happened. Although, I do not agree, that he should have attacked this Athesits, what this Athesits did, was wrong. I amazes me, of the hatred that this country has for any type of religious affiliation, but condone what an Athesits does. Are you aware, what an Athesits is? These people have no belief system what-so-ever, and yet, they feel, that they can say and do whatever they want. These people, who are so arrogant and offensive to so many, would deserve the time of day.   yelling “fire” in a theatre and getting in trouble for it, is a blantent violation of free speech.
  Honestly, if you are that crazy that you can’t look around, see no immediate threat and calmly leave via the fire exit. If you HAVE to run over someone and kill them, then YOU, and ONLY YOU are to blame. no one else, can or should ever be blamed for your skittishness and selfish actions.

  Sure, the initial crusades where started when muslims took hold of the Christian Holy lands. But further more the Crusaders were sent initially to help protect travelers through the deserts. The 2nd Crusades under Pope Urban were to push the muslim occupation back to the deserts where they came from when the fools of the false religion called islam had conquered everything up to Spain.   Zenga, while the fake “Christians” in control of the “church” from 310 A.D. till the late middle ages, were committing the massacres of Jews in the Holy Land, they were also persecuting True Christians, starting with the Waldensians of the late Roman Empire to the early reformers like John Knox and Bible translaters like Wycliffe and Tyndale.
  
  Also, how can you say that the New Testament is not the “religion of Jesus”? The very principles and teachings of Christ is written throughout the NT. Even the Gospels’ narratives of the life of Christ are important to the Gospel…. from His birth to His Resurrection and Ascension. If His followers were knowingly teaching mere fiction for their own benefit (though i’m not sure what benefit that would be), they why would they all stick with their story even when faced with painful and gruesome martyrdom. I mean, if I was running around telling the Star Wars saga like it was a true story and a basis for life changing religion, and then was confronted to the point of being threatened with hungry lions or bloodthirsty gladiators, I would alter my story significantly, in a New York second.

If the Muslims did manage to invade & take over the US (remember this is hypothetical) do you think that ALL non Muslims would be dangerous to them? We every one of us attack them at any given time? Would we ALL try to kill them any chance we got? I’m talking ALL not some. Think before you speak and know that beliefs such as yours are very dangerous as well.

I support free speech, no matter how offensive, and I’m against violence, so I in no way condone the actions of this Muslim guy. However, I’m pretty sure that if there had been a Zombie Pope and no Zombie Mohammed, and the Blaze had run a story about that, the comments pages would have been full of people saying “I wish I had been there, I would have beaten the snot out of him,” and lamenting the passivity of the spectators who let him get away with it.

  Well,I suppose comments on a internet forum are one thing,but when it comes to doing the actual deed,I just don’t read stories on a regular basis of Christians, Jews, Catholics,etc.etc. using any kind of violence against other people because of their religious beliefs in the USA.Muslim citizens in America on the other hand,do it frequently.Recent stories about the Muslim guy with the Star of David carved in his back,because he defended Jewish people…..A Muslim using a tire iron on a guy……now this parade story.

Proof that the “god” of Islam is weak: He can’t defend himself. His followers have to do all the defending for him.
‘Muhammad the zombie’ is quite funny since the body of the actual Muhammed is still very much dead and rotting in the grave. On the other hand, the tomb couldn’t contain Jesus Christ for more than a couple of days… And HIS followers don’t feel the need to run around defending his honor– God is quite capable of defending himself, thank you very much.
