Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal Crushes Competition to Win Re-Election

Bobby Jindal Wins Re Election

(AP) Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Saturday easily coasted to a second term, winning in a landslide election after failing to attract any well-known or deep-pocketed opposition.

The 40-year-old Republican overwhelmed nine competitors in the open primary, where a candidate wins the race outright if he or she receives more than 50 percent of the vote.

“I will use every day, every hour of these next four years to make Louisiana the very best that we can be. I don’t believe in resting on our past accomplishments. I don’t believe in taking time off,” Jindal told a packed hotel ballroom of supporters in Baton Rouge.

Jindal piled up $15 million in campaign cash from around the nation and attracted no Democratic challengers with statewide name recognition or fundraising heft. He’s had consistently high approval ratings since taking office in 2008.

His win comes amid the virtual collapse of the Democratic Party’s clout in the state. In the current term, Republicans have gained control of all seven statewide elected posts and both chambers of the legislature.

The first Indian-American governor in the United States, Jindal is considered by some a possible presidential contender in the future. He recently published a book and regularly appears on national news shows, but he ruled out a 2012 run.

Still, his brand of conservatism and refusal to raise taxes has resonated outside the state.

The race that received more attention in Louisiana was the one for lieutenant governor, because the officeholder is next in line should Jindal step down because of his national political ambitions.

Incumbent Jay Dardenne, who took office after a special election last year, faces off against Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser. Like Jindal, Nungesser was a vocal critic of the federal response to the massive Gulf oil spill.

During the elections they show in red and blue as districts are won. I witnessed all across the country that almost all the rural areas were red.
Metros is where Obama and others won their seats. He got intercity churches, clubs, and orginizations to bus, or supply rides to voters wanting change. He put all China’s and Islam’s campagn funds where the would have the most influence once, can he/they do it again? 2.5 Trillion Dollars is missing and the governemnt can’t find it. It got miss placed? Obamas and Dem’s new campaign funds?

Bobby is on my Patriot list along with Cain, Paul, Bachman, Rubio, West, and DeMint. We need to support and celibrate people like this; “surround” them, and make sure they do not turn into Benedict Arnolds like many others do.

The so-called Birthers on now on to Jindal and Rubio saying they could never be Pres or V.P. because their parents weren’t “citizens” when they were born HERE.
This is an issue that will certainly have to come before the Supreme Court eventually as more and more people, other than the old white guys who have been here for generations, step up, run for office and hopefully, like Rubio and Jindal, turn this country back to the Constitution.
Natural Born, really what do the papers of Jefferson, and Madison say about that?
Most people think that if you are born here and can prove it, unlike Obummer, then you are a citizen. If parents have to be citizens too, then that kinds of speaks of some sort of dynasty.
Anyway, I don’t have an answer, but sure think what Jindal and Rubio are doing is great for the country. These “new comers” meaning their parents seen to have a better understanding of our Constitution and hold it dear than a lot of the nut cases we have in Congress now.

Jindal won against a list of nobodies with no backing. We only had a 40 to 46% turnout and he got 60+% of that vote. Those of us who supported Jindal in the last election have been disappointed with his non stop fundraising(out of state usually). And primarily because he has not done what we elected him to do. He has claimed all kinds of credit for anything that has turned out good. Jindal is a managed politician, he is not his own man. he drives around the state, stops at a few small towns, tells the same joke, speaks quickly and won’t take questions. He is very intelligent, he is conservative, and he has the potential to be a force on the national scene…but he is a paper tiger. He is a fantastic crisis governor but he is bored between hurricanes. He is so much better than the governors we have had in the past…but that’s not saying much. Jindal needs to get rid of his handlers and become his own man, so to speak. We’re still looking for that smart man with the answers who was going to reform our third world state, not the man who plays it safe and takes credit where credit is not due. I am tired of the spin his handlers keep throwing us, it’s time for him to throw them out.

while he’s done well in LA, the other note is- the left doesn’t want him anywhere near the VP list.

Looks like Louisiana has collected the country’s entire voter intelligence. Too bad the democrat-run states don’t have the common sense to do the same.

After the Louisiana Purchase, the state of Louisiana was the only state which was treated like a colony, where that state’s profits from the her natural resources were not shared. The then Congressman Bobby Jindal reversed that law and now Louisiana gets the profits of her natural resources, as reported in asiausavista.org. As Governor, he began to balance a budget of a state deep in the red and now the state has a balanced budget. He reduced corruption at all levels to the extent Louisiana, once the most corrupt, rose to the highest rating among all states of ethics and honesty. He improved the health and education systems of that state and for the first time he reversed the population drain, now people are arriving into Louisiana instead of leaving it as was the trend before Mr. Jindal became Governor for seven decades. Under Governor Jindal, Louisiana has the lowest unemployment rate among the southern states, and would be lower if President reduced regulations, lifted the embargo in the Gulf and suspended Obama care.
A study has shown that large foreign investments, especially from India, are waiting to invest in Louisiana pending the Presidential elections when President Obama will lose.
When he ran for that seat a second time, the Democratic party tried to smear him by calling him an Arab but he won. Though his parents are Hindus, he converted to Catholicism at an early age and many politicians want him to run for presidency, but Jindal is smart in remaining a Govern

Bobby Jindal is a good governor, nearly anyone would be better than some of Louisiana’s former rogue’s gallery of governors. But contrary to what Hannity says Bobby isn’t the 2d coming of Ronald Reagan. He’s nowhere near being a real conservative.
