Police Officer Slashed During Occupy San Francisco March

Police say two officers were injured during an Occupy San Francisco march Saturday, including one who was slashed with a pen knife or razor blade. (Image source: KGO-TV)

Two police officers were attacked during an Occupy San Francisco march Saturday, police said.

Police spokesman Carlos Manfredi said officers were attempting to hold the line and keep protesters out of an intersection when a woman came from the crowd and slashed an officer’s hand with a pen knife or razor blade, disappearing before he realized he’d been cut.

In a second incident in the same location, police said a man then came out of the crowd and grabbed an officer’s radio, and when the officer chased him another male protester shoved the officer, tearing his uniform and leaving him with a bleeding laceration on his face.

Police did not know if that protester had a weapon or if the cut came during the struggle.

The attackers could not be found and no one was arrested.

Both officers were treated at the scene and released.

      While the unions have caused some divisiveness within our proud community, we’re still very committed, unified and focused when it comes to our primary mission. Public safety. I’ve been a cop for nearly three decades and I can tell you that the union issues are an afterthought to keeping the peace.

      @USLAWMAN, I stand with you, I am in my 32nd year and just retired after 30 years in the military active and reserves. I will never choose the union over the oath I took to preserve and defend…I grudgingly joined the union only because it is a closed shop where I work. If It came down to it, and I was on a crowd control line tomorrow, facing some union thug, I would gladly put him on his a** just like any other knot head.

      @Hidden_Lion Personally, the guys in Wisconsin pi@@ed me off, cops have no business getting involved in that nonsense. Just like we have no business going on strike. My guess is those guys were the shop stewards and business agents for the locals and maybe some hard liners, but most of the guys I work with thought that was embarrassing.

    Obama, Pelosi etc etc etc etc have all stated their support for these protests. Now, let’s consider what they are supporting:

    1) violation of inumerable laws
    2) verbal & physical attacks against those who question or don’t support OWS
    3) rapidly accelerating violence
    4) vandalism & destruction of public & private property
    5) disruption of private businesses
    6) widespread unsanitary conditions and health hazards
    (a private residence or business with the same filthy conditions would be shut down in less than a week)
    7) the very real threat of epidemic disease
    ….. and the list could go on

    Isn’t it wonderful to know the president et al are supporting such worthy activities? Sure helps me sleep at night.

      I know – the number of cops stabbed at Tea Party rallies was somewhere between zero and a million. And when you have such a large number on the high end you know that those nasty old Tea Partiers were plotting revolution.

      Also remember that the number of police officers shot was also between zero and a million. We’ve got to bring the full force of government down on those folks when the high end of the range reaches that level.

    Incidences like these are just tests, to see how far the police will go.The real physical attacks wont come until next year as we get closer to the elections. I foresee attacks on Tea Partiers first, most by these idiot owsers, with a little union help thrown in for good measure.obummer needs a reason to call for marshal law, and he will use the attacks, and the response to them, to get it.     This is the reason why these protests need to end, it’s only going to get worse. Does any of these protestors really know what they’re doing? I’m all up to keep capitalism, not up for bailing banks out, but, I never got a loan I couldn’t pay back. Instead of protesting I think these people need to start buying American instead of Chinese products.. Sadly to change things in this country, it’s almost that simple!

      That whole event stinks to high heaven.
      Notice how they all have disappeared form the news cycle?..no one ever got to ask what it was like in a Iranian prison..what did the see?..what did they hear?…WHY were they there in the first place etc. It would seem to be a possible interesting story, but they came back..claimed concern for political prisoners IN THE USA and elsewhere….and then dropped off the news cycle.

      Police officers are being sold out by their unions, right before their eyes. Are they too stupid to see it? Yep, keep paying those union dues to the teamsters. They’re in the trenches fighting for you guys. I think I’ll head down to the local radical mosque and donate some after tax dollars to their cause of destroying my country. That would make sense right?

      Now if the officer would have shot this woman, would he have been prosecuted? Hey, at least they’re fighting you to save your pensions. She just wanted to give the guy some paid time off from working day and night dealing with the failure to occupy hygiene crowd.

    Oma couldn’t get the tea party to get violent, so he turned to his base. the problem is, once you turn them on, they’re unpredictable. They aren’t even protesting about the same things. this is going to get real ugly before it’s resolved. It’s also going to come back and bite the Democrats.
