MSNBC quickly turned to a gun bashing-fest on Tuesday that included the doozy of an observation that anti-gun Brits are from “the more intelligent part of the world.”
Newly-minted MSNBC host Alex Wagner sadly noted that “Support for handguns, or rather support for a handgun ban has gone down,” as she kicked off the panel discussion, titled “Out of Control?” A graphic then showed that, in October of 2011, support for a handgun ban was at 26 percent, whereas in 1959, it was at 60 percent.
The lone conservative on the panel, Jedediah Bila, interjected that the gun-grabber agenda only punishes the law-abiding and certainly didn’t work in notoriously violent Washington D.C. But this only seemed to egg on Wagner and Martin Bashir, also an MSNBC host.
The exchange between Wagner and the British-born Bashir continued on as follows:
WAGNER: Martin, you’re from the more intelligent side of the Earth –
WAGNER: Where they have different gun control laws and I wonder what you make of America’s cultural sort of fixation on –
BASHIR: You shouldn’t be asking me, because the attacks that are going to come on Twitter and Facebook are going to be overwhelming.
WAGNER: Oh, come on, that’s the whole point of this show!
Bashir continued on to praise gun control legislation in his home country, and blamed some of the U.S. gun agenda on the National Rifle Association.
