Intense Video Shows Taliban Insurgents Destroyed in Bombings

Some very intense, close-up footage of a massive Taliban take-down has found its way into the blogosphere via the diligent crew at WeaselZippers. According to the original post at Apache Clips, the video contains a series of brand new clips at the beginning, followed by older footage out of Afghanistan.

The following video clearly captures Taliban insurgents being decimated in a series of bombings. Caution, it is graphic, but nonetheless fascinating:

  This is insane, the US Military is using non-lethal explosives. In two videos the military dropped $100,000 bombs on one or two Taliban and they stand up and walk a way. How did the US ever invent non-lethal explosives? The enemy is not using non-lethal explosive land mines against our troops.

  I am conflicted about videos like this. While I absolutely love watching crap get blown up, I have exactly NO confidence that the people in these kinds of videos actually deserve it. They are already flying drones over the US and have already assassinated US citizens – how can you trust that assassinations like this are justified? This certainly isn’t “war” or in any way honorable. Terrorism is a tactic, not a group of people, so anyone saying “it’s OK because they are terrorists” needs to take a step back and think about what they are saying. Nobody is a terrorist until proven so in a court of law – the founders said “All men are created equal” and deserve due process. Notice they didn’t say “all US citizens” or “all non muslims”… This is a slippery slope and if we don’t stop this kind of illegal behavior now, it will soon be too late to do so.   there is WAY more to it than just wasting people in the countryside. This video shows only the last few seconds of something that took hours, sometimes days or even weeks to verify under surveillance and or set up the operation based on that surveillance.
  
  There is a scene in there from an AC-130. That AC-130 circled those taliban and surveyed them planting an IED. They had to call back to HQ and get permission to engage. HQ demanded further observation. When HQ was able to determine that what the AC-130 crew was reporting was accurate THEN they gave the order to fire.
  
  The military is NOT run like some sort of rodeo with a bunch of cowboys with guns like the movies or the news portrays. These video clips are not of just random people out for a walk.

  It’s important to have and use the technology that we have to help us fight against evil idiots like the Taliban, but what happens when Iran develops the same technology? Or if they are HANDED a drone in perfect condition and all our President does is nicely ask for it back instead of finding out how it happened and prosecuting those involved?
  
  We are all being mislead by the current administration and it’s not just “the economy, stupid”…they are allowing our technology to be stolen and used by our enemies and I hope and pray that I never see the day when I’m walking down the street and a bomb land in front of me because we didn’t do enough to remove the cancer of progressives from our political landscape.

  I am a Army Ranger and this does not sit well with me. Warfare has lost it’s honor. To kill another person is not a happy occasion no matter whether they are evil or acting evil. One must have respect, love, and compassion for all of the people who go into battle. We most rise above the happy feelings for the deaths of these people. This is not saying we must not wadge a battle against evil no matter what form it comes in, but these times are not a football game to be cheering for. I have seen first hand what it takes to point a weapon at someone and it does not make me happy to have done this, but I will do it again when my country calls on me again. Even then, I will still have the respect, love and compassion for the enemy. We most be better than them, that is what fighting for freedom is all about.

  Before everybody gets happy…how credible is the site these are from? And, notice in the first 5 clips that most of the “victims” walk away (look closer).
  
  Everything shot with the same camera, coding, & sequencing? The night vision coupled with the vehicles present is not conclusive either.
  
  I want the Taliban dead as much as any of you (maybe more than some), but we must be critical to what we take in….if anybody that’s better at recognizing/validating this type of media, please chime in so we can all feel better that some of the bad guys are gone.

  MetalPatriot, I think you are wrong. I believe that we can do better. We would not have near the threat of terrorism if we were not over there bombing and thinking how cool it is to witness that. I guess I will never understand the Neocon philosophy as I am for Constitutional principles. Get out of foreign lands and their wars, that have been going on forever, and commit our troops to doing what the Constitution say’s, protect our Nation from outside advance.There are only two countries that could be a threat to us, Russia and China.We do ourselves no good by spreading our troops too thin across the world. Yes, we should diminish our presence, but it can never be erased. There’s just too many bad guys that want us gone. Nobody likes or wants to be “world police” but the rude facts are that there are bad people/leaders and we are actually looking out for ourselves by keeping a presence.

  Most assuredly I don’t get excited watching people die. I’ve had the “joyful” experience of seeing life disappear in person’s eyes and don’t recommend it.
  
  Could be completely wrong here (& if so, please correct me) but the excitement many folks feel is upon seeing a person that considers the U.S. inherently evil and is bent on our destruction was removed as a threat to friends & family.
  
  There are the “gamers” (i know them too) that haven’t experienced much real life to know the difference. I don’t play video games and don’t enjoy death. Sorry if I gave that impression. But, the world has always been filled with genuine evil and some of us must fight it.

  Actually that’s *exactly* what the facts point towards. Despite all the people who are gullible enough to believe the “they hate us for our freedoms” propaganda spread by the politicians who get kickbacks from defense contractors, most independent 3rd party analyses show that when we leave, they will stop attacking us. They just want to be left alone just like we would if they were setting up military bases over here.

This “occupation” which followed (sought by the Saudis to defend against a now disproportionately powerful Iran) became the demarcation point for the new AlQaida to enrergize Muslims throughout the Arab world to attack America. And so they plotted, as we looked away and defended Muslims in the former Yugoslavia. Note the Iranians with Chinese and North Korean assistance were already on that road before Gulf War 1. So if we leave now, they suddenly stop with their strongest ally on the brink of nuclear weapons?

Thats a huge threat to our financial system, thus after years of genocide and murder of his own people, now all of a sudden he was a terrible man and had to be stopped! Saddam invades Kuwait and Osam Bin Laden ( our then, shaky ally against the Soviets in Afghanistan) offers up his Muslim fighters to the Saudi King because that is their Jureuselum (Holy Land) to oust Saddam out of Kuwait. The Saudi’s choose us as the ousters and it enrages Bin Laden because not only did he feel it was a Muslim affair and should be handled by Muslims but now foriegn troops are occupying the holy place (Saudi Arabia)….then your story begins…….See how much history would have been different if we had not have gotten involved?   The worst part, and this has happened every war here historically, is that people despise the person who is in office that brings us into war, then suddenly change their mind and become “patriotic” to support the ******** that got us into war in the first place.
  
  Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, Kennedy, LBJ, both Bushes were all low in popularity until “wars” occured. It’s then seen as our duty to give them a break & support them…no matter what.
  
  I certainly am no liberal, progressive, anarchist, or whatever, but we as a nation need to recognize that following a leader just because they have the position in NO WAY makes you patriotic. Not much different than following a corrupt CEO when the company is in trouble and he’s the one (along with board of directors) that created it.

  Ammo factories in Cuba? That is not so they are closer to there bullets, an ammo factory would be blown up in the event of a war, a huge cargo ship could supply just as much ammo but……. they get blowed up too. Before we fight a war on our soil we will be grabbing the nukes. A friend of mine was in the Korean war he had 2 colors of shells yellow and blue if they were over run by the Chinese the orders were to use artillery nukes and chemicals, and the rules have probably not changed to much.

I would rather have a President who would stand up for our Individual Liberties and go to war , with the approval of the people through Congress, to keep those liberties! There is only one person running right now that I would trust to stand up for our Individual Liberties. Do you think there is anyone else running that would?? Someone who has always stood by his oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United Sates, since he first decided to run, as he was worried for our country.   If they want the citizens of their country to be safe they would stop shooting and bombing people and soldiers and surrender to the authorities. Did you ever think about that ? *They* are the ones who need to reconsider what they are fighting about.

If you don’t know why they hate us then you ain’t been pay’en attention. It’s real simple.
Islam – SURRENDER/SUBMISSION TO THE WILL OF ALLAH. You cannot make any distinction in Islam between the religion, the culture, the law, the politics, the ideology or the government: in theory or in practice for one simple reason, Islam itself forbids it. So any distinctions we might wish upon Islam are in fact MOOT, and actually quite silly on our part. It is beyond me why nobody gets this. Islam is Slavery unlike any other slavery, it is totalitarian to the nth degree. America on the other hand, was founded on the Judeo-Christian belief in INDIVIDUAL FREE WILL. And there you have it. It doesn’t matter if you are on the left or the right, Islam hates us all simply because we are FREE to CHOOSE left or right and choice itself is the sin. And this is not Militant, Radical, Extremist Islam; it’s just plain Islam.

Hmmm…That is possible, but the rules of the game will have changed then wouldn’t it? I do not think they want the ugly which comes from that. But come that day, I’ll play. Won’t bother me to get back into the game.
