Five Charged After Jewish Teens Pelted With Eggs in N.J.

Five people have been charged with bias intimidation after allegedly pelting two Jewish teens with eggs in New Jersey.

The two Orthodox Jewish boys, ages 15 and 17, were walking early Thursday in Ocean County when they were hit with a barrage of eggs thrown from a Jeep, Lakewood Police Chief Robert Lawson told the Asbury Park Press.

Lawson said the Jeep had several male occupants and that before driving off one of them told the teens, “You better move on you Jew boys.”

A police officer soon spotted the vehicle a few blocks away. Lawson said the driver of the Jeep admitted they were responsible for throwing the eggs.

The occupants — three adults and two juveniles — were each charged with bias intimidation and harassment. They were issued summonses and released, Lawson said.

“This has happened before where kids from surrounding towns, Toms River, Howell, Jackson and Brick, come into Lakewood and think its fun to harass the Orthodox,” Lawson told the newspaper. “We have a zero tolerance for this kind of thing.”

    You are so correct! Right is Right, and this should never have taken place. The system is so rigged now since we have new people running this country. If this was done to Muslims, it definitely would have been all over the news and condemned to the highest degree! We all need to stand up and fight for what is correct in this country. Our country is going down the tube right before our eyes each and everyday.

      Well said, REABYLAMB45! This country IS going to hell right before our eyes. It starts with the socialist president and runs right down into the DO-NOTHING Congress that is addicted to spending $$$ they DON’T HAVE! It is truly amazing the absolute HATE some people have for people of the Jewish faith in this country, and for that matter, the world. BUT, the violent and degrading radical muslim faith is treated as though it can do no wrong, it is actually revered by some in political circles; I just don’t get it! In my opinion, it’s time to do away with ALL of the members of DO-NOTHING and replace them with people that have ideas and can work TOGETHER to achieve those ideas. It’s up to the American people to decide, I hope we make the right choices!

    I live near here and boy do they have a racket. Large families, husbands all students, section8 for all, privates schools built all over including industrial parks, homes are technically owned by rabbi which are tax free because they teach students in their homes. So is this how it is suppose to work ? Another example of how the taxpayers money is spent. Doesnt quite seem fair. As far as the eggs I know of this happening to other teens who are not Jewish, so it must be another stupid thing people do to get their jollies.

    If this had been five white Americans who egged two Muslims, there would be no end to the news coverage of this hate crime.
    We would be reading their names and addresses. We would be viewing photos/video of their faces, of their homes, of their relatives, of their vehicle and it’s tag number.

    For some of you who are saying this is not a hate crime, that it’s just some juveniles playing a prank, please re-read the story.
    Five people in a vehicle, three adults, two juveniles, bombarded two juveniles with eggs, and called them Jew boys. That is a hate crime.

    Bias Intimidation? Where are the assault charges? Bias intimidation charges are piled on top of the charges for the actual crime. It’s the NJ version of hate crime charges.

      Agreed…this is a HATE CRIME!!! If I (being white) had done this to a black man would they treat it the same? I contend they would not. I would prob. not see the sun again for at least 20 years.

    I live a few miles from that area. I see them walking around town all of the time never bothering anyone or anything. I shudder to think what I would have done if I witnessed that.

    When decent people finally get fed up with anti-semetic preditors, a lot of people are going to die. I can only hope it’s the latter. Too many evil people feel very emboldened these days due to tolerance of everything under the sun. They make up the ‘herd’ that needs to be ‘thinned’….sooner the better. My tolerance for preditors is down to zero.
