Navy SEAL Smackdown? Jesse Ventura Denies Sniper’s Story

One of the biggest non-election items on The Blaze last week featured former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle’s story about decking another former SEAL, Jesse Ventura, in a one-punch bar fight. According to Kyle, Ventura was bashing the SEALs and the military during a funeral gathering.

The video in the story went viral and has also prompted a response from the alleged victim, Jesse Ventura. On Sunday night (and reportedly from his home in Mexico), the former Minnesota governor took to Facebook and posted his “official” response to the Kyle’s story. In short, he’s calling it false.

“The event this man spoke of never happened,” he wrote. He went on to call it a “lie:”

Jesse Ventura Responds To Navy Seals Story About Bar Fight

The full text of Ventura’s response as shown above is here:

Jesse Ventura’s official response to Mr Kyle’s accusations.

The event this man spoke of never happened. I have been to Mc P’s many times since leaving the Navy. I was never there alone. I was always accompanied by other people. If this happened 6 years ago, someone would have known of it before now. Certainly in the UDT/SEAL community it would have been known. This has to be news to all of us.

I have always opposed the war in Iraq but I have never spoken or wished any ill will towards the soldiers. My heart aches that soldiers have died or been wounded because this war should never have taken place. I am perplexed over the agenda this man has and why a fellow Navy Seal would tell a lie about an event that never happened. Clearly between this story and the previous week’s story about supposedly getting pulled over for tailgaiting in CA that was also a lie, someone is out to destroy my credibility. I find it very interesting that both these stories are being spread by Fox news and it’s affiliates. As a Navy veteran you realize you can’t believe every sea story you hear. Let me finish by stating both of the recent two national stories about me are completely untrue lies, neither event ever happened.

Sincerely,

Jesse Ventura

We are curious. Do you believe Jesse Ventura or Chris Kyle?

Jesse might be a bit arrogant and loud at times but there is no way he would have said those things. I have never heard Jesse say a cross word about those in the military and holds that he himself was in the military as a badge of honor.

Maybe this other Seal was drunk and thought he was hitting Jesse when really it was someone else.

That sounds like the most plausible story,Kyle had a few drinks and he thought the guy was Ventura.
If the story is true and someone whoever it was said our guys deserved to be killed he needed a lot more than a punch in the face.

Jesse is very famous and a former governor. I find it very hard to believe that this story was not reported at the time that it actually happened. I was hesitant to believe it when I first heard the sniper on TV, now after hearing Jesse’s response. I BELIEVE JESSE. What happened to having corroborating sources before running a story? FOX is guilty of the same lack of journal ethics (and The Blaze) as they so often blame the main-stream-media of.

I’m inclined to believe Ventura for some reason. The sniper seemed a little hesitant while telling the story. Perhaps it was merely someone who resembled Ventura and it made for a better story to say it was he.

I hate to muddy the waters, but didn’t a NAVY SEAL” just get drunk, take a girl back to his place from a bar, pick up a gun he said was unloaded, point it at his head, and blow his brains out? On my drunkest day, and my 23 years in th Army, I would never handle a gun when drunk, let Alone assume any gun was unloaded, and then point it at my head and pull the trigger. What the hell is going on with the navy, especially the Navy Seals? Its almost like we are being made to disrespect them? If we had American journalists instead of all these coward communist wannabes, this story would take 2 seconds to prove one way or another.

CBS did a show very recently on the New Hampshire primary in which Ron Paul was entirely excluded both from discussion as well as from the graphic showing candidates and their respective percentages.
Bill O’Riley has which conservative stalwarts such as Dick Morris and Karl Rove frequently prognosticating on his show. He treats their progressive lies and spin as if it were the gospel and NEVER offers a converse opinion. He states the NeoCon talking point of “Paul can’t win” like the odiferous parrot of warmongering that he is, and for that he is no longer being viewed at my home.
Hannity, Cavouto, Brett Baire, Sheppard Smith, they all have been a culpable of pushing that fecal matter of Neocon progressivism in the person of Romney as has NBC, CBS, ABC, MSnBC, CNN, Et al.
Failure to put this collusive denial of self-evident truths in the proper perspective on the parts of my blazers could only indicate two things. A. One is a paid troll. Or B. One is scared silly of actually facing the truth.
As for me, I will vote for Paul, will he win, not likely, but that’s because he won’t get the support he deserves from most of you. That’s the way it goes, but at least my soul will be intact and I’ll sleep knowing I did not go quietly into Americas good night, because I would not cosign this evil being foisted upon me.

I would vote for Paul but for totally different reason. He is dead right fiscally, but he to woul put a final nail in Amerca’s coffin in that he would surrender hook line and sinker to our enemies. But you know what, we deserve that! So if Santorum dose not get the nomination, and they put a socialist in as nominee, I will right in Paul’s name because we deserve what we will then get! He is a racist, anti Semite anarchist, but at least we will all die free! Why can’t you libertarians put a guy up that has his hatred of the fed and big government, pull our troops home, but who will rest them up and reconstitute them while taking out the nuclear terrorists. Just make sure Iran and the other Muslim moron countries don’t get nukes, amd then it dosen’t matter about us being over there, they can kill themselves off with bombs and bullets, and leave us alone. But why do you libertarians want to commit suicide?

Im not crazy about Paul, or any of the other candidates for that matter. None of them are 100% perfect, but any one of them is better thann Obama. I will vote for whoever is running against him. My biggest fear is a third party option, which will guarentee a second Obama term. Im not sure we will survive a second term. I think getting rid of him is priority number one. After that, we can work on refiorming the entire Republican party, from the ground up. It will take some time, but we can get there.

Who cares about this anyway? The guy is trying to sell books. I’m sure there must be someone who saw what happened, if it actually did. That will come out. I’m more interested to hear why Jesse moved to Mexico. That would be a much more interesting story.

Who has the burden of proof here Kyle or Ventura? Clear Kyle does and just because it isn’t reported in the “news” does not justify Ventura and just because Kyle published a book does not justify Kyle. So this comes down to why now during Ventura’s strong public political stance? Why is this the time that Kyle can gain the most from a story like this and Ventura loose the most? Ventura has served in the Navy, as a Governor, built his own career as an actor ( including WWE). He continues do things that are unpopular to many at great personal expense (there is no money in fighting the TSA). Who is Kyle?????

sargent carlos hathcock, the father of the modern day navy/ marine
sniper corps would have washed out this jerk the first week.
His interview with O’reilly shows how much he loves his job.
Never heard of Carlos Hathcock? google his name. what does the marine corps think of him?
there is a library at Quantico that bears his name. It was dedicated while he was still alive

I’m sort of debating between which of the two I believe the most. For someone who might want to make up a story and then have it blown out of proportions before they quiet it, this definitely sounds like it. What better development of a story than to be sitting around talking about a guy who opposes the current wars and talk about how they’d like to punch him in the face and how they’d like to see him say something at a funeral for one of the SEALS. This conversation could have even occurred after a training class that Ventura spoke at, in a bar for a memorial for a fallen SEAL. Add on that the guy is trying to sell books and there’s the draw of using such a story to get sales.

But, maybe it did happen and no one wanted to make any sort of conflict between SEALS and former SEALS a news piece.

I will go with the Navy Seal’s version, thank you. Jesse Ventura is a loon and a conspiracy nut, who frequently slams America and her military. I have no reason to believe this story happened in any way other than how it was described. He opened his big pie hole and got it smacked shut. That’s not something a man wants to admit happening.

First, not a raging fan of Jesse, I watch his show with an open mind, I found it hard to believe the claim that Ventura would tell a fellow Seal that they need to lose some guys, and then got punched and knocked down and this is the first time we have heard about it. Why a guy that is the most prolific sniper would stoop to that claim is puzzling.
