Controversial Movie Director Spike Lee Hosts Fundraiser for Obama: Tickets Run $35,800 Per Person

Controversial film director Spike Lee — famed for producing such movies as “Do the Right Thing” and “Malcolm X” — will reportedly host a fundraiser for President Obama in his home in New York next Thursday.

According to The Hill, an Obama campaign official says producer-director will host 40 guests at his home with tickets running a steep $35,800 per person.

The Hill adds:

Obama’s reelection campaign reported raising $42 million in the fourth quarter of 2011 while the Democratic National Committee raised $24 million. In the third quarter the president’s reelection team and the DNC raised a total of $70 million.

Obama is expected to travel to New York for the Lee-event and later attend an additional campaign event at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, with performances by famed singer Al Green, “India.Arie” and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Tickets to the Apollo event will start at $100 per person, according to a Democratic official who spoke to The Wall Street Journal on condition of anonymity. The official claims the event has yet to be officially announced.

  No Problem with him raising money, but l hope that Obama gets the DNC to pay for his flight (Airforce One) travel hotel and all Expenses for trip to new York and not as l expect it will be paid for by the people. He is employed to be the President and should get on with the Job, not spend 3-4 years caimpaigning for the next Election. In the private world he would be sacked

  Thanks to Citizens United, he could have started a PAC and given his million dollars to President Obama that way. This difference? You wouldn’t know who gave that million bucks. Dang, no headline. Al Qaeda is probabably giving millions to the Republicans – they’re really tired of all their guys getting killed by drone strikes.

  Spike Lee is an anti-white racist hater. He has been able to make movies, because he has been financed by radical leftists like George Soros and others who are anti-American and anti-Christian, which means they are the same financiers who eagerly invest in the production of any movies that are anti-American or anti-Christian.
  
  Lee is a moron who could never have achieved success on his own. He was on The O’reilly Factor lamenting about the usual whining black complaints about the large numbers of blacks incarcerated compared to whites.
  
  O’Reilly pointed out that greater percentages of blacks than whites are incarcerated, because they commit more crimes. He then asked Lee why he thought there were more blacks in prison per their percentage of the population than whites or Hispanics.
  
  His answer? He said it was simple. Whites have money and get out on bail, but blacks can’t. When efforts were made to inform him that bail was not available to prison inmates he continued to utter the same mantra. He wasn’t bright enough to understand that. He also did not address the fact that blacks are 3 times more likely than Hispanics to commit crimes and be incarcerated. Obviously, his hatred includes only whites.
  
  The man is not only a racist, he’s stupid. And, he’s living proof there are elements in this failed empire who are willing to financially back any miscreant who hates America and white Christians.

  you’re exactly right – whites don’t do this – ever hear of White Guilt Syndrome? It’s a real psychiatric diagnosis – it’s being used by Rev Wright, Obama, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton and others blacks like Tyler Moore – I used to watch Tyler’s shows and belonged to his email group but after a awhile, I realized that he only uses blacks in his productions – he is doing what some whites did. All this is hate and reverse racism – no one wins…. Obama needs to lose the election and if there is a black candidate that has political experience, let him run.   Seriously…I thought Spike was an innovator – he’s just a follower afraid to think and stand up for himself and leave the plantation – he’s the type of fool who would have told on his own who had the true bravery to leave slavery and risk their lives.   Hey, wait a minute. Isn’t that the amount that people paid for his majesty’s fundraiser last week in Chicago? What is so special about that particular cost per person or couple per fundraiser? I don’t suggest a huge conspiracy, but that amount sure is odd for 2 events in 2 different cities. Maybe the rich folks that he hates like that amount. Just saying.
