Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor took a break from solving the nation’s most contentious and pressing issues to film a Sesame Street segment. In a video posted on the show’s YouTube page, Sotomayor weighs in on an epic battle between Goldilocks and Baby Bear (two Sesame Street characters).
In the video, Sotomayor explains her job and listens patiently to “both sides of the case.” Baby Bear says that Goldilocks came into his home uninvited, then sat on his chair and broke it — something he’s visibly upset about.
Sotomayor, using her judicial wisdom, inevitably rules that Goldilocks needs to help repair the chair. But she also tells Baby Bear that “accidents happen” and that the chair was broken unintentionally.
“I wish all my cases were this easy,” she concludes.

Feb. 8, 2012 at 2:01pmOla! Accidents do happen when you conveniently forget the “uninvited” trespassing part of the “trial”. This blatant indoctrination is the epitome of the doom of our society – the spanish overload, the simplistic explanation of what SCOTUS judges do (their “opinion”, in her case, instead of following the Constitution).
Goldilocks completely whines like the typical liberal ‘tard that she “didn’t mean to do it”, and “it was the only perfect chair”. Sound familiar – I want the chair so I’m entitled, even if I break it.
What a disaster this country has now become.

Feb. 9, 2012 at 6:25amJONINVA, Lol! That was funny but so true. She is more qualified to judge fairy tales and make believe than actual cases. Parents do NOT allow your kids to watch Seseme St. It is indoctrinating our children. I love the cartoon with the cookie monster being served carrots and fruit, have you seen it? I guess he will either have to change his name or dissappear from the program altogether.

Feb. 8, 2012 at 10:08amI’m not sure what bothers me more about this video, the fact that one of our Supreme Court Justices doesn’t speak English, or the way Sesame Street is dumbing our kids with characters like Baby Bear who have severe speech impediments. I mean, “Weally?” I thought our publicly funded Children’s Television Workshop shows were supposed to be teaching our kids proper English. What ever happened to that?

Feb. 8, 2012 at 9:14amWell, I’m going to go out on a limb and give my honest opinion. I think grownups can learn from this Sesame Street segment in that accidents happen and when accidents happen there is no reason to come unhinged over it. Just sit down and calmly discuss it to resolve the issue without over dramatizing the situation. I think this was a great life lesson. Huh, who would of thunk it from the left. Never too old to learn (hopefully).

Feb. 8, 2012 at 9:31amLet’s see, goldilocks breaks the law by illegally entering the bear’s house. While their she eats food, breaks a chair and sleeps in a bed. She is found in the bed when they return. Got it.
Now, “accidents happen”, yes they do. If my son breaks something in my house (where he is legally allowed to be) then it’s an accident, and should be treated as such. If my son breaks into the neighbor’s house and breaks something in there then he will be punished through the law – the “accidents happen” rule doesn’t cancel the “breaking the law” rule.
I’m frightened to think about what they are attempting to teach through this segment. I don’t want to be an alarmist, but if all they were teaching was “accidents happen” there are many other, clearer, ways to teach it. This screams of a separate message.

Feb. 8, 2012 at 9:33amOnly if you ignore the illegal act of coming into the house in the first place. What exactly are they trying to teach here? I agree that accidents happen, but there are much better ways to teach it then using a story of illegal entry. Especially since that fact was even clarified through the segment.

Feb. 8, 2012 at 9:39amJUSTANOTHEROPINION, dearest…did it ever occur to you that Goldilocks broke into someone’s home, ate their food, slept in their bed, and then albeit accidentally, broke a chair? AND THIS IS A SUPREME COURT JUDGE?????? of course it’s the socialist/commie agenda at work aimed at children.

In the real world, the bear would have had the right to remove goldilocks by force – unless the bear lived in CA, NY, of MA….or any other lib state.
I heard this advice from a conservative CA Sheriff for what to do when an uninvited guest breaks into your home:
1) shoot to kill
2) when the police arrive, say three things:
a) “I felt my life was in mortal danger”
b) “Let the evidence speak for itself”
c) “I want a lawyer”
