Are Biden and Daley Breaking With Obama on Contraception Mandate?

Two of President Obama’s top advisers — both Catholics — warned him of the potential fallout from his controversial mandate requiring religious organizations to cover the cost of contraceptives in their employee’s health insurance plans.

Politico reports:

Vice President Joe Biden and former White House chief of staff Bill Daley both told the president that the decision would be cast as a government intrusion on religious freedom and that it could alienate Catholic voters in swing states, Bloomberg reported Wednesday. The decision has whipped up a frenzy of criticism for the president that he’s been battling since the move went public.

Biden, the first Catholic to serve as vice president, isn’t known for being reticent. But he hasn’t yet spoken publicly about the Jan. 20 decision. His office declined to comment.

The advice coming from Biden and Daley also represented a division among the president’s top advisers, with a group of top women all urging the president to not create an exemption for religious organizations. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, also a Catholic, led the charge, and was backed by several others, including senior adviser Valerie Jarrett and then-Domestic Policy Council Director Melody Barnes.

Meanwhile, White House press secretary Jay Carney said Wednesday that some reports about who supported the president’s decision are “inaccurate,” but didn’t clarify whether he was referring to Biden and Daley or others.

The White House indicated Tuesday that it might agree to some modifications in the rule that would give employers flexibility.

Politico points out also that Catholics made up more than a quarter of the 2008 electorate and that they voted for Obama over Sen. John McCain 54 percent to 45 percent.

Minorities have abortions many times more than Whites in the USA. Ever notice that urban areas which btw are home to more minorities than suburban areas,are always chosen locations for abortion clinics. Also abortion clinics Always take medicaid. The Liberals always touting that they are the saviors of Minorities and all Conservatives are bigots. White Americans handed out Small Pox Blankets to the Native Americans it appears that Abortions have become the Modern Day Small Pox Blankets. The sickest part of the whole thing is that Minority Leaders are some of the biggest advocates for Abortions……………Wake Up America!!!

  I agree, Biden will step down for religious reasons. He will be replaced right before the election on a Friday night (holiday weekend) obscure news outlet.

The more I see Biden speak (not the gaffes), the more I am convinced he has little to no confidence in what the axis of Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Hoyer, Rangel, Wasserman-Schultz and the rest of the radical left are doing.

I think he’s just along for the ride, frankly.

The point is not the availability of contraceptives. They are widely available and affordable The purpose of the rule forcing Catholic entities to provide contraceptive methods for their employees is to destroy the Church (or churches). Communist countries don’t allow their citizens to practice any religions. They are godless because the State wants to be the supreme ruler.

Just because a person was baptized into the Catholic faith does not mean that person is a Catholic in good standing with the church! Sebilus, Biden, Pelosi, Daly, the Kennedys, etc are NOT Catholics in good standing with the church and any person who is a practicing Catholic is howling in outrage every time these fools claim “I am Catholic”! These people are no more Catholic than Obama is and their only claim to the religion is the sacraments they may have received as children. The Catholic church teaches that a person can repent and leaves the door open for those that have fallen away. Perhaps these men and women will one day see the error of their ways and come back to the church. I can only hope that the priests and bishops of their church and diocese has spoken to them and that they are denied communion if they attend mass. If they are receiving communion then the priest is in grave error.

Come to think of it, this obamacare mandate is far more sinister than it may appear…

Take the next logical step: If the government health panels decide they aren’t going to fund your pregnancy, what choice will these women have? Government doctors decided that you must have an abortion because it would be far too expensive for you to have a child…

Sell birth control over the counter, side-by-side with condoms. In Brazil birth controls are cheaper than dirt. No one needs prescription for it. Some people buy them and put in their hair treatment. Ladies say that it makes their hair grow faster.

( the secrecy about the bill is probably due to these jack- booted government policies which are going to end up in Obama’s frequent target : The Supreme Court ) No wonder Obama criticizes the conservative members of the Court !

  This birth control issue was brought up on purpose. It will be used as: “Republicans are against contraception”.
  
  I believe Obama gives the green light to the people in the background. They scheme and deceive the citizen on a daily basis. Making new laws and regulations.
  
  Running THIS CAMPAING was started the day Obama entered the White House in 2009. Every decision they have made over the last 3 years was weighed and measured on how it can also be used for his re-election.
  
  Obama cannot do this by himself. I don’t think he is smart enough. He wants power and his minions make sure he gets it. Obama does not love this beautiful country.
  
  Remember when Romney was asked about state controlled contraception. That was done on purpose to bring this issue into the campaign. Now with the Catholic Church fighting against the over-reach of government into religious issues, Republicans are coming out to stand with them.
  
  The Democrats and Obama will bring a message like: “Republicans are against birth control”. That message will motivate mainly young people. So they hope anyways. Obama has lost their enthusiasm and will use this as a tool to get it back.. The young want to get all the free contraception devices they can get. Sex with no responsibility is very appealing to the young and not only the young.
  
  Now it is not about RELIGIOUS FREEDOM anymore, but will be about; ‘Republicans are refusing birth control.” Just wait and see.

Here is an idea about contraception pills: No need for prescription, make it an over the counter like aspirin. Then people buy it with their own money, like it is done in Brazil. Birth control pills in Brazil are cheaper than dirt.

I’m sure that Biden and Daley approve of the fertility treatment mandate. Oh, wait! There isn’t one.

The women potentially impacted by this mandate are employeed. Can’t they afford contraception? If not, stop by Planned Parenthood (wearing your Susan G. Komen pink ribbon, of course), they’ll fix ya right up.

Why is Valerie Jarret always involved in these decisions?? What is her role?? What is her agenda?? Is she the conduit for Soros?? Or are she and Van Jones on some sort of other mission. Everytime Obama makes a move against the Constitution these two are there. When two hardcore leftists like Biden and Dailey counsel against a decicion and Obama goes ahead with Jarret and Jones it has to make a person wonder- What is the agenda here??……Just sayin’

  According to an alleged White House Insider, Obama is just a puppet – the real “President” is Jarrett and Sebelius also plays a big role in his decisions. Things this guy has said have come true as he has said. He also says there are others like him – Democrats – that saw the light re how destructive this admin. is and are actively trying to expose things and working on not having him get re-elected.
