Jon Stewart Unleashes on Sarah Palin for ‘Today’ Appearance: ‘Homespun Nonsense Unchallenged!’

By many accounts, Sarah Palin’s appearance as a co-host of “Today” on Tuesday was harmless. The former governor was lighthearted, likeable, and besides taking some expected shots at the president, not too controversial. But that didn’t stop Jon Stewart from taking a litany of shots at the former veep nominee on “The Daily Show.”

After reading a tweet from Palin she was “going rogue” and “infiltrating some turf,” Stewart unloaded:

“I think it means you’re cynically exploiting a manufactured notion of yourself as a crusader against a monolithic exclusionary activist liberal media, whilst actually enjoying a mutually beneficial, symbiotic relationship with them — only to the detriment to the rest of the country.â€

“It’s the Today Show!†he added. “Do you really believe co-hosting the Today Show is is entering the lion’s den, armed only with some Jesus fish earrings and an Iwo Jima sized flag pin?â€

But he wasn’t done there:

Governor Palin acts like she needed to protect herself from the lamestream liberals like garlic to a vampire when the truth is, you’re at the Today Show! You’re there to talk about party planning with Tori Spelling! To pretend that you remember who Wilson Phillips is, or to hang out for some light-hearted couch banter with Matt and Ann and Al — instead of acting like you’re sitting with which Che and Lenin and Saul Alinsky. You’re pretending this whole appearance is some uncommonly ballsy way of sticking it to the lamestream media. It’s just another place for you to tout your brand of homespun nonsense unchallenged!

You can watch the segment below in two parts:

(H/T: Mediaite)

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

All I have to say is that Jon Stewart is NOT as funny as he thinks he is…..and I am not taken in any fashion by his virtual jousting matches with blow hard Bill O’Reilly either. Frankly Stewart is boring and that is why I find something else to do during his time slot….like watching On Demand episodes of Dance Moms or some other genuinely entertaining mind mush….which reminds me….another poster alluded to Stewart going girly….maybe he really is from the Candy Apple Dance Studio.

      S. Palin had what it takes to go on the Today Show. YES, it had to be the “Jesus Fish” that gave here the power! What is wrong with that? Stewart has no Jesus or Fish. Stewart a Jerk becoming a Bill Maher! Soon the two can go fishing with Rosey with Joy Behar driving the boat, freaking four stooges!

I am no fan of Jon Stewart, but I am tired of seeing Sarah Palin make money off of those who thought she actually was serious about poltics. All she does is market herself so she can make another TV show or sell more books. She reminds me of those authors that write books on how to get rich (i.e.- author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad), but really only got rich themselves from selling a book on how to get rich. She isn’t doing anything illegal, but she isa snake oils saleswoman.

I’m not sure which is scarier. Her, or the throngs of people that think she is actually intelligent.

She’s as dumb as bag of hammers.
She was a media creation from the beginning. McStain was predestined to lose to ohmamma, who I now believe was groomed to oversee the takedown and destruction of what is left of this country.
GWB was put in to set up the pins, and ohmamma is here to knock them down. His work is not done, and will kick into high gear after McStain Part 2 (Romney) is defeated. The more I learn, the more I realize that Presidents are SELECTED not elected.
Only ONE man would have reversed this course. That’s why you saw ALL flavors of the media circling the wagons on him. He threatens their little crap game. He threatens the Federal Reserve, which is at the heart of all the corruption in this country.
As Rothschild said “Give me the wealth of a nation, and I care NOT who makes its laws.”
Too bad people didn’t pay attention and heed the warnings. Now you will sleep in the bed you helped make because you were either too lazy or too stupid to see the bigger picture.

For the past three years Sarah Palin worked tirelessly to fight Obama ‘s policies and elect conservatives. She was #1 in the fight .
She basically spearheaded the 2010 victory with her endorsements and rallies all over the country and was (justly) credited with playing a central role after the Republicans swept last November .

She has repeatedly offered serious policy statements on issues such as health care, the Federal Reserve’s money printing in funding our federal deficit, Crony Capitalism, energy independence, etc)
No other national Republican leader has done so as consistently, effectively, and as well!

She was the first Republican to make a high-profile critique of the Federal Reserve’s quantitative easing, though even earlier she had marked the collapsing value of the dollar as one of her issues.

      @Jefferson

In Alaska, Sarah’s top priorities included fiscal restraint, limiting the size of government, resource
development, education, equitable oil valuation as well as transportation and infrastructure development. Sarah Palin fought for ethics reform and transparency in government.

She has cut spending, forward-funded education, and paved the way for job growth in her hometown.
Sarah Palin has fought to reduce spending and to enforce fiscal discipline as governor of Alaska. She has drastically reduced the growth of the state budget, which has helped to produce a record budget surplus.

Under her leadership, Alaska has invested $5 billion in state savings, reformed education funding, and implemented the Senior Benefits Program, which provides support for low-income Alaskan seniors. She’s also established Alaska’s Petroleum Systems Integrity Office to provide oversight and maintenance of oil and gas equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.

During Sarah Palin’s first year in office, three of her administrations major proposed pieces of legislation passed—an overhaul of the state’s ethics laws, a competitive process to construct a natural gas pipeline and a restructuring of Alaska’s oil valuation formula.

After poring over thousands of emails (24,000+ pages of emails) from Palin’s term as governor, even the mainstream media has been forced to concede that Palin was a conscientious, transparent, and effective public servant.

      @encinom

Sarah Palin resigned because she recognized the cost that the frivolous ethics complaints were having on her state , and she saw how much of her staff’s time and her own time were forced to deal with those issues.

Upon her return to Alaska to resume her duties as Governor, Palin was plagued with one trumped up ethics charge after another which cost her staff dearly.
That entire campaign of BS lawsuits was meant to do nothing but hamstring the governor’s office and bankrupt Sarah Palin.

She saw that if she stayed on as Governor it would continue to cost the state millions of dollars in wasted time and resources to defend against false and maliciously ethics complaints and doom it to gridlock.
Those frivolous lawsuits had already cost the state of AK close to $2 million; Sarah Palin had over $500,000 dollars in legal fees.

Did you read the newly released Palin e-mails ?The emails shows how her political opponents were trying to destroy her and her family. They also wanted to destroy her Governing Alaska.
These e-mails show once and for all the fact, just as she stated, that these ethics complaints were driving her to personal bankruptcy, and wasting a ton of the states money a resources.

She is actually suggesting to Mitt to have West as a vp candidate. West is ok but he would bring nothing to the ticket. We need someone like Rubio who would help with various groups but, if not, Mitt will choose a good candidate. He certainly has alot of chemistry with Paul Ryan & would make a great team but the dems would really go into attack mode. Plus I don’t think he could get us Wisconsin. Palin has been very unsupportive of Mitt & then she actually thinks he will take her advice. Please there are better people for him to listen to.

It is NOT because there is EVER any balance to his diatribe which, incidently, is always followed by his over-used, vacuous, wide-eyed stares at the camera for “comic” effect. If anyone is energized or entertained by this ne’er-do-well, go home and rethink your life. You’ll be glad you did.

Doesn’t say much about his mother and upbringing. There are many kids in America today who would love to have a mother and homelife like the one Sarah Palin gave her kids. And there are mothers who wish they could give their kids that life.

Ah, a popularity contest. Jon Stewart is jealous of how far Palin has come, and now on a show too, just like him. A show is a show is a show Jon. She is on equal ground with you.

You got to love today’s liberal “comedians”: cynical, mean spirited and UN funny. get a life Stewart. Everything you say about her can be applied to you 100x over.

Not even close. Palin is a uneducated fraud. She brings this on herself every time she opens her mouth. She proved yesterday that she is just an empty suit, with nothing to offer, her appearance was laughable. I’m almost embarrassed for her.

I never watched Steward never will. He’s a pumpus arrogant wannabe intellectual. So he panders to an audience of half wits because in the land of the blind the man with one eye is king.

John Steward has more intellect in his little finger, then most of you have in your entire family. Anyone who is taken in by Palin, really isn’t smart enough to make comment about intellect.

Steward is a mental midget he could find tuesday without a writer. He is much like the 5 girl whose surrounds herself with 2′s and 3′s. To make her look like a 8 or 9. There’s no big mystery to his success he’s a 90 IQ whose audience is a 70.
