Since NBC News was publicly embarrassed for releasing an altered (and misleading) version of George Zimmerman’s 911 call to police the night he shot Trayvon Martin, the network has taken several steps to try to rectify their lost credibility. The most recent casualty of such behavior has been the producer responsible for doctoring the tape, according to the New York Times:
NBC News has fired a producer who was involved in the production of a misleading segment about the Trayvon Martin case in Florida.
The person was fired on Thursday, according to two people with direct knowledge of the disciplinary action who declined to be identified discussing internal company matters. They also declined to name the fired producer. A spokeswoman for NBC News declined to comment.[...]
The people with direct knowledge of the firing characterized the misleading edit as a mistake, not a purposeful act.
The producer’s name has yet to surface. Because of this, Newsbusters, who originally caught the misleading edit, has made it quite clear that NBC is still on the short list of networks not to be trusted:
While NBC has taken a good first step toward rectifying the situation, until the network releases the name of the person and explains its theory that the edit was not deliberate, its credibility is still under question.
Are you going to trust NBC News after this? Weigh in below.

Apr. 6, 2012 at 10:53pmHave they apologized on the station yet?? If so how many times, and when? 3:00 AM, if at all?
That was no mistake. It is in line with their character. To whom was the apology addressed? Zimmerman, their NBC audience, the mob; ‘nobody’, only because they had no other choice? Who said ‘Run it anyway’?
That they are sorry to have gotten caught, is the only pain in their heart. I trust them less. It would never have been corrected if it wasn’t made public, and more so because they stirred up hate and violence. Know-it-alls. When they make as much to do with the ‘mistake’ as they did before they ‘discovered’ the ‘mistake’, I’ll gladly lighten up. It’s up to them.

Apr. 6, 2012 at 11:58pmThe lamestream media has just become so pathetic. I talked to a liberal friend today who thought that the Sanfoed police shot Trayvon Martin because of his race. These are the type of people who will be voting for Obama. The media today would make Goebles blush in comparison. These are the same people who hate capitalism. This video is a must watch for all who care about this country.

Apr. 7, 2012 at 12:00amNBC has been on my list of news sources that are not to be trusted for a long time. Until journalists actually report the truth without their own agenda behind it I will not indulge them with my time. I prefer other news sources that tackle hard issues and do not go with what seems to be the popular opinion. Bryan Williams is such a hack that I can’t stand to see his crooked face. His face matches his character. If you watch him he has to hold his head at an angle to appear normal. Just plain weird.

Apr. 7, 2012 at 7:51amI personally think Zimmerman and his family are going to be rich folks soon. This was nothing short of a “media character assassination with deadly implications” that should be worth millions with the right council. I would also think that every network that joined in on that bandwagon is liable as well. He should have checks coming from many angles on this one.

Apr. 7, 2012 at 8:03amNBC has a long history of distorting the news. Remember when GM had a problem back in the 1990′s with side mounted gas tanks on trucks exploding upon vehicular impact? To illustate how bad the problem was, NBC producers attached explosive devices to gas tanks of GM trucks, so when the staged accidents were filmed, the truck would explode in a spectacular fireball. When they got caught, they staged an apology about how they were sorry if any viewer was misled by their actions.

I do not watch Fox News, but I am glad it is out there. It is a continious thorn in the side of the MSM. Fox is playing the tapes, doing stories, and going where others dont, shedding light where other news sources will not go. So at work, when people are talking in the break room about the latest “big news”, those that watch Fox have a side to stories that the rest do not. Fox is the only news that is gong to tell you about ACORN, Union violence, voter fraud, and they are going to show sides of stores in such as the Zimmerman and Martin story that the other news will not show.

They drop kicked and punched him until chased away and he said they told him it was “for Trayvon”! How about all the violence and looting they stirred up in FL by doing so, are they going to pay for the looting, and the medical/counseling bills for anyone injured? How about the older couple who’s address was given out by Spike Lee, are they going to convince him to help him pay for their security and expenses while they were afraid to go home, AND THEY’RE COUNSELING AND ANY MEDICAL CAUSED BY THE VIOLENCE THEY STIRRED UP? When they accept total responsibility for the hate that was stirred up and actively work to quell it, them may gain credibility!

The only people who would hire damaged goods are ones who don’t have a penny to their names and wouldn’t care if they got sued.
And by referring to “fighting the good fight,” what you really mean is that lying, manipulation, and false charges are the norm for people like you.

Apr. 7, 2012 at 8:19amRush reported yesterday afternoon that NBC had discovered the responsible party and that he was a senior producer. And, that NBC was doing an in house reprimand only and would not release his identity to the public. They must have fired him late yesterday taking their lead from the White House’s standard Friday evening data dump in hopes of having very little discovery. I still can’t believe that there are those with NBC still trying to label this as a mistake and unintentional. There is just no way that was unintentional.
