Teen Atheist Behind Prayer Mural Ban Threatened with Rape: ‘We Will Get You — Look Out!’

Teen Atheist Jessica Ahlquist Receives Letter Threatening Rape & Physical Danger: We Will Get You Look Out!

Teen atheist Jessica Ahlquist

Jessica Ahlquist, the 16-year-old atheist who made national headlines after winning a battle to have a prayer mural removed from her high school in Cranston, Rhode Island, continues to receive threatening messages. But the latest letter to arrive at her home would make even the bravest individual quiver.

The message within it gives Ahlquist, who has been praised by church-state separatists but derided by those who supported the presence of the banner at Cranston High School West, legitimate reason to fear for her safety. The writer references rape and pledges to “get her.” The disturbing message also makes a point to note the teen’s relatives, including her sister and father, and advises that her sister “watch her back.”

Ahlquist originally shared the note on Twitter along with the hashtag #christianlove. Of course, there’s no way of telling if the note came from a Christian — or even if the threats are credible. Police, though, are reportedly investigating. Here’s a screen shot of the tweet (via the Friendly Atheist):

Teen Atheist Jessica Ahlquist Receives Letter Threatening Rape & Physical Danger: We Will Get You Look Out!

“The cops will not watch you forever,” the letter begins. “We will get you good.”

The note concludes with some startlingly strong and threatening language against Ahlquist.

“Get the f**k out of R.I. you bitchin whore. You are nothing more than a sex-toy of a slut,” the text reads. “Maybe you will gang-banged before we throw you out of one of our cars. We will get you — look out!”

So far, Ahlquist hasn’t responded to local outlets seeking comment.

Although I don’t agree with what she did in forcing that sign to be brought down, I abhorred the actions of those who wrote and sent this letter to her. This young lady has a right to her beliefs and she should not be terrorized and threatened because of it.

Well she got her walk of “fame” as she gets written up in newspapers, and other communications. That banner had been up for sometime before she came aboard the bandwagon to hurt Christians. You go ahead and act like it doesn’t matter, girl but wait until you get sick or worse and want to live on. Life is short and eternity is forever.

Saudi Arabia has its religious police. Pakistan has its Taliban that assassinate anyone who opposes imposition of Sharia Law on all Pakistanis, Islamic and Christian alike. America is blessed with fervent Christian enforcement squads who react with rage and threats of violence when anyone, even a 16-year old student dares to ask that their Christian beliefs not be prominently displayed or taught at her public, tax-supported high school.

Jesus arrived two thousand years ago with a message that we should love our neighbor – “even the least of these” – as we love him. He asked his followers to “spread the word.” Having read the New Testament, I don’t remember him asking them to intimidate people by threatening to rape them or to injure their family members.

Many of the people posting here and the people hounding Ms. Ahlquist demonstrate, graphically that Jesus erred. The human race, then as now, to accept and understand his messages of love and tolerance.

Perhaps Bibles and Korans should come with a warning label, “Caution: Reading this text may be hazardous to the health of those around you.” Too many people here and abroad are ready to twist even the most gentle of religions into a reason and justification for hate, violence, and repression.

have mercy on them as well…you see, they don’t understand love. they think that they are doing God’s will. they are trying sooooo hard to please God, because they fear him. Paul clearly states that if you truly have found Christ…you realize HE did it all…for you! as a gift! no more digging and scratching for approval…just come boldly before the throne with gratitude, love and childlike faith. they have NEVER received true unconditional love…so they are without a basis to give such. they have not found Christ, just church. Pray for them, correct them, make them think….but forgive them, for they know not what they “say”…or how they actually reject God by their actions!

Although there is no way to know for sure, I am always a bit suspect of these kinds of things. The reason is the multitude of false claims made by others who take it upon themselves to become activist for “their” cause. Not too long ago there was a rash of hate crimes being committed on campuses at several east coast colleges. All of the claims, not just some turned out to be false. People who seek attention by making a fuss over the rights of others are often very dramatic and seek attention with false claims. I personally think before judgement is passed on Christians, more proof than a note in poor penmanship needs to be provided.

What makes you think a Christian wrote the hatefilled letter?
This might be someone who knows without God in public life
anything goes and to lookout she is going to get what she wanted…
but not like what she gets!
a world full of hate and fear and violence..
look at schools without the acknowledgement of prayer since 1963
what the schools have turned into? and have turned out for graduates!
night and day difference compare the statistics
they all go into a downward spiral from 1963 forward!
where was the outrage at the taking of prayer out of school? by Christians…
This hate filled letter only proves my point!
it was not written by some enraged (full of hate) Christian?…
that is the antithisis of Christianity!
    God protects the believer
    because God is LOVE and
    there in is the TRUTH
if you are filled with hate
you do not have God !
Jessica is experiencing the real world of her dreams without any God!
Does she think all is going to be a perfect utopia?
Guess again! The vile will have no bounds and
there will be no blessing on such society
Fear will be the rule of your life day to day…
but it was your choice, you acted on what YOU wanted…
now you are getting the first volley into your new real life! Without God!
You cannot have it both ways…
So the letter you received was not from someone who loves the Lord
But someone who is cut from the same bolt as yourself.
    Reality bites!

TEABUNNY I think you should read *Yourvoice matters* post again. He is just pointing out what has happened since God has been and still is under attack by atheists and what Jessica should expect in the world she longs for.
As God is completely removed from the public areas there is even more ungodliness. We NEED God in all aspects of public life, the schools, the courts, politics and the White House, not JUST in the Church house.

No one knows who sent that letter to that girl but the immediate response was “some Christian”. Well maybe but then again maybe not. I hope this does open some people’s eyes to the Hell on earth it will soon become when all indications that God ever existed is removed from America.

      Matthew 7:12-23
      King James Version (KJV)
12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

She may be anti-God and believe herself to be totally soulless, but she doesn’t deserve to be treated with hatred by people who claim to be religious. Nobody has to lay a hand on her. If she stays on her current track, eternity will be very unpleasant for her as she will no longer be able to deny His existence, but will forever be separated from Him by her own arrogance to disavow Him during her time on Earth. That eternal damnation would be far worse than anything she’s done here on Earth. It’s best to simply let he be and take pity on her soul which will tortured for eternity as He may judge. I can’t say for sure she’ll go to hell, but I cannot testify on her behalf, but there is someone who can… she would just have to ask and believe…

There is a story, about a young girl that lost her life – crying from the grave she spilled out her heart to her father, asking why he had never told her about Jesus . Crying from the grave, she lamented to her father, ” Why did you not tell me about the life saving Grace of God. ‘ Where I am, there is this huge chasm that separates me from all comfort and joy.’ ” And, she further said, ” father , there is great pain and suffering here, and there is no relief from it ; why did you not teach me about Jesus? ” The father replied, ” My dear, I have no excuse because the father before me is in here as well.”

20Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

(what is the name of your church…so i can be sure not to go there!)

Are you high? I think you should go troll the white house page or huff post! You are the worst representation of a Christian I’ve seen in a long time, you are tormented in your soul and can’t decide which path to take! I will be praying for you.

Nobody has any information on the source of this note, yet I am seeing here on this site both sides using it to make “their point”. That is disappointing.

There exists no moral, or ethical ” ground , ” without fear of God.

Doing something out of fear is neither moral nor ethical. It is coercion.

It is far more moral and ethical to hold beliefs, not because someone is watching you and threatening you with punishment for doing the wrong thing, but because you know it is the right thing to do.

” Fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom.” But a moth begins as a worm, ends as a fool that flies into the flame.

There’s nothing in that note which is either Christian or love- so your post is a false accusation.

    I am willing to bet,
that you can match the written speach patterns ,
to some liberals historical posts that are stored
in the archives of this blog space.

    Any takers?
I bet you can match the verbage in the letter to the writings of one of the bloggers ranting about Christians as posted in this very blog story.

Pick on each bloggers name and their entire history pops up.
    START LOOKING!!!

Exactly, and who will the writer have to answer to? In the mind of an atheist, no one exists to answer to. Surely she would not try to use the court system that makes one swear under oath.

This atheist stood up for the Constitution, that’s why her case won.

All you Constitution-thumpers who are saying she deserves this and brought it upon herself… she was in the right and the Founders would agree, that’s why they separated Church and State.
