Biden’s Plane Lands Safely After Being Struck by Birds in California
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (NewsCore) — A plane carrying Vice President Joe Biden was struck by birds shortly before landing in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Thursday night and remained grounded Friday.
“Air Force 2 encountered a bird strike last night when landing in Santa Barbara,” a spokesperson from the VP’s office told FOX News Channel. “The Vice President left Santa Barbara [Friday] afternoon as scheduled, aboard an alternate US Air Force aircraft.”
Lt. Gregg Johnson, a spokesman from the US Air Force 89th Airlift Wing, told KEYT-TV that the birds struck the plane between 10:00pm and 10:30pm local time Thursday.
“The aircraft, the vice president and the crew were safe at all times, no one was in danger,” Johnson told the station.
“When there is a bird strike our safety procedure is to land safely as quickly as possible to get an assessment of what happened and review the extent of damage if there is damage.”
Biden had flown to the Santa Barbara area to attend a fundraiser hosted by Nancy Koppelman, a member of President Barach Obama’s National Finance Committee, KEYT reported.
The extent of damage to the plane was not reported. Biden returned to the East Coast Friday evening.

Don’t worry about Joe having no function in the government – at least he can’t screw anything up. Why should we pay for his tranportation to a fundraiser?
That plane costs almost $180,000 per hour to fly-5 hours there and 5 back – that trip cost us a minimum of $1,800,000.
^Why don’t we just give him the money we spent for the transportation. It would be more than the take from the fundraiser and save wear and tear on the plane – and the birds.^
I don’t mind his going to fundraisers; I just don’t want to pay for them.

Then he and his entourage caught another government plane to LA for another fundraiser (while AF2 was being repaired). After this next election, WE the PEOPLE need to demand that there be no more flitting around OUR country to campaign on OUR dime. I would have said to have it done now, but the Dems would start screaming “Bush did it”.

Yes the birds know. Raise their young, kick them out of the nest, show them how to fend for themselves & fly away & watch from a distance & the young bird figures-out…..guess I better get my act together and look around for food & either “get busy living or get busy dying”. I don’t even have to go to where this admin. is taking this country…all I can say, from personal experience, “if I want to eat, I got to work”.
At least my mom did this for me, we old people remember our parents would give us information on how to live on our own but also remember my mom gave me dishes, ironing-board a few pieces of old furniture and that was it. When I go to the $ store today,I’m amazed how you can buy dishes, silver-ware & stuff cheap to supply your apartment or whatever.for little amount of money, and those stores were not around, maybe a few 2nd hand stores, but the older crowd know what I mean. No wonder these kids don’t understand starting from the bottom & working up. I’ll shut up now!
