Internet Security Firm Sees More Malware on Religious Websites Than Porn Sites

Symantec Internet Security Threat Report Finds More Malware on Religious Websites Compared to Porn Sites

(Image: Symantec)

It may seem counterintuitive, but a new security report from the firm Symantec has found religious websites hold as much as three times more malicious malware compared to pornographic ones, according to PC World.

Although PC World notes reports that come from security firms also selling virus protection software, such as this annual Internet Security Threat Report, should be taken with a “pinch of salt,” they still provide intriguing observations.

Here’s what the report had to say with regard to religious site malware:

Moreover, religious and ideological sites were found to have triple the average number of threats per infected site than adult/pornographic sites. We hypothesize that this is because pornographic website owners already make money from the internet and, as a result, have a vested interest in keeping their sites malware-free – it’s not good for repeat business.

PC World calls it a “notable discrepancy” that religious sites average about 115 security threats and adult websites only about 25 threats.

Overall Symantec reported an 80 percent increase of malware in 2011 compared to 2010. On a perhaps happier note, email spam has decreased from 88.5 percent of all email in 2010 to about 75.1 percent. PC World attributes this decrease to ”law enforcement action which shut down the Rustock worldwide botnet that was responsible for sending out large amounts of spam.”

I have been a long time Glenn Beck fan and supporter, but on numerous occasions this site and links have come up and been flagged as malicious content and ad-ware. Currently there is this alert by norton on the browser:

    Viruses (what’s this?)
    Threats found: 1
Here is a complete list: (for more information about a specific threat, click on the Threat Name below)
Threat Name: Fake App Attack: Fake AV Redirect 21
    Location: http://www.theblaze.com

I want to think better of Glenn because I agree with him on just about everything, but this is concerning.

Sounds like a “false positive” that you should report to Norton so they can research it.

Tried replying to this once, I guess my links got it blocked.
Most likely the 3rd party advertisers aren’t screening their content.

Internet Explorer is a sad joke, please stop using it…
I don’t have these issues because I use the following:
      Firefox
      +
      Adblock Plus
      +
      Ghostery

There are many more add-ons I use but those two are the most important ones.

      mozilla.org
      addons.mozilla.org

I wonder how many of the malware on religious sights are inspired and directed by the administration.

That’s like they plan to get rid of people, although never has there been so many people in the earth, and so they have no idea how much it is going to sabotage their own future existence keeping them from ever existing again.

The funny thing is that if most people chose to be Eunuchs for the sake of Heaven, then people would walk around nude and pay no attention to physical attributes.

The funny thing is that if all the people in the world stripped off their clothes, then all could plainly see the people who are beasts and the people who are not.

That must be why in the Bible people rent their clothes to display “Look, I’m not a beast.”

Do you ever have coherent thoughts, that can be placed in one post?

Your multi-posts are annoying, reminds me of a 16 year old with hormones a racing therefore they can’t seem get their thoughts together.

Maybe we should refrain from posting until all thoughts are gathered into one post for a change!

One of the very first gutters that were dug by human beings is wearing clothes. Because our spirits aren’t the same, and certain body parts tell on them. Not that I want to see people in the super-market all nude, but people should be aware of the truth.

we need more businesses who aren’t afraid to show our country’s religious roots. here’s one that will either never be supported because no one knows about it or it will be attacked like this article states:

Why is it animals are not obsessed with porn? Oh I know why, it’s because animals are not corrupt, and so they don’t have to go through the purification process.

Of course religious site are under attack more than porn sites…..the secular architects of the new society don’t want religion sites to grow. So they hit them virally to make people stop visiting them.
