The Obama campaign’s new “Life of Julia” tool has led to no shortage of mocking parodies of the faceless, fictional female guided through life by the president’s programs.

The efficacy of Obama’s policies — and the hardships “Julia” would befall under a Romney administration — are certainly up for debate. One thing that’s not? Whoever created Julia and her world really should have brushed up on their flag etiquette.

Julia’s college graduation podium is flanked by two flags — the U.S.’s and a generic “U.” The American flag is to the would-be speaker’s left, while U’s is on the right. So what’s wrong with that?

From the U.S. Flag Code:

When displayed from a staff in a church or public auditorium, the flag of the United States of America should hold the position of superior prominence, in advance of the audience, and in the position of honor at the clergyman’s or speaker’s right as he faces the audience. Any other flag so displayed should be placed on the left of the clergyman or speaker or to the right of the audience.

Yikes. Pretty embarrassing flub for a national presidential campaign. ~~Good thing it’s only the first one.~~

  With this guy we can expect a tragedy for the USA. A country so exceptional that millions of people are in a queue to come and have the privilege to be welcomed as a citizen of the USA!!! The tragedy is that so many people here do not understand this is reality! Because of our sacred freedom we have allowed Leftist and revolutionaries to wash our children brains indoctrinating new generations with a fake history in biased education programs. This is not a Socialist Country!!!

  I wonder how low college tuitions would be if the fed government wasn’t subsidizing loans and grants. True market competition w/o would truly bring the cost down and reduce the amount of debt students would have to take in order be brainwashed in liberal doctrine!!

  The Flag of the United States. has 5 rows of six stars starting at the top inter spaced by 4 rows of 5 stars . What that means is the second row of 5 stars should be indented so that the field of stars doesn’t lean to the left ! Lol . I thought the gaffe was in the stars , my bad .   Disenlightened, I think you hit the nail on the head. THAT is the kind of woman this administration and its followers hope Julia grows up to be. A total failure, not looking to the gov’t for help, but so dependent on the gov’t that she can’t help but vote for more of it.
  
  Yep, there is definitely a war on women going on, but I don’t quite think it’s the conservatives waging it…
  
  And Uranium Wedge, I hear what you are saying, but I have to disagree. It’s small things like this that 1) erode our society 2) make people stop caring about protocol and tradition and 3) serve as an indicator for just what type of people we are dealing with. Things like the flag displayed in the wrong place or equal to a liberal university flag or with Obama’s face on it may seem little to some, but not to those who bled and died for that flag. It’s the one thing we all should hold most sacred, and anyone who doesn’t take the time to make sure it’s given it’s rightful honor should not be the leader of this great nation and the #1 representative of that flag.
  
  And I agree with many of you… the name Julia is NOT an accident. Thank you George Orwell.

  Forget the flag, The text of that stupid picture is an out and out lie: If Julia already has her student loans, the rates will stay where they are. It is only new loans that would feature increased interest rates.
  But even that is beside the point. Someone needs to be asking why colleges increase their tuition 8 to 12% a year when the inflation rate is nowhere near that. Hint: the answer lies in the fact that government is involved in the education business with guaranteed student loans.
  
  When I went to a state university 40 years ago, it cost 230 dollars a semester. Now, it’s nearly 5,000 dollars. That’s an increase of 21 times over. Yet wages and prices for everything else have increased maybe 5-8 times since then. As long as government keeps dumping money into secondary education, the prices will not be competitive and will continue to skyrocket.

  Todays college kids can’t use reg. math without a calculator. Today I bought my 90 year old mother a hamburger at Burger King – bill was $6.65. I gave the girl – looked to about age 20 a ten and .65 and then gave her another dollar so I could get a $5 bill back. She had already punched in $10.65. After about 2 minutes, she finally deduced that I was to get 4 $1.00 bills and 75 cents. My wife told me I should tap on the window and inform her that she owed me .25. I told my wife I would pay .25 to see how dumb our kids are today. I’m sure that if I had asked her to text me in 2 seconds flat she probably would have.

Did anything stand out to you about Obama’s comments about (I’ll paraphrase here) something that if Muslims are waterboarded it (something to do with their faith)… it made me think that Obama wanted to stop water boarding to protect Muslims (not from talking, but something with their faith which is really a cult… Did anyone pick up anything on that ? Did anyone mention that Julia will be 60k in government debt, 50k in school loans, medicare, medicaid and SS will be broke and anything she paid in will evaporate under ponzinomics. Not to mention she will need about 100 cotton coupons to get a loaf of bread.

What struck me the most about “Julia” is that it assumes Obama will the the “president” for many decades. (for the sake of efficiency of course).

Also, I’d suggested here that someone should take a day in a life of someone who has to deal with this “healthcare” in reality. But it was someone from the Left who ran with it. Sad.

  First lets point out that the American Flag should be on the right and if Odumbo staff are to incompetent to know this(Just like he looked like a clown on almost every state visit(especially with the queen of England) and that Odumbo NEVER put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem or wore a flag on his lapel until being elected,this cartoon is important,because it Lay’s out the lefts ideology that the Government should be involved in every aspect of our(not just women)lives,not to help in time of need BUT to CONTROL everything we do!

  This is a huge story! Our president has put out a campaign ad and can’t get the flag correct….or is it that the flag is EXACTLY were he thinks it should be?
  Also this “life of Julia” ASSUMES our benevolent leader will still be the leader when this woman is 60….does that trouble you? It does me. I do not think this nation will look like America if we get just 4 more years with this guy!

  The Juilan ad story is a big story and I disagree vehemently with it’s premise, the audacity of the ad is what the story is. The story is not that the flag is drawn wrong, a story about the flag detracts from the importance of what the administration is saying in the Julian story.

  Yeah Ironside after reading it again that post was bad. I was just trying to show that by him leaving the title of off the President he was showing the office of presidency a lack of respect. I don’t think he did it intentionally just like I don’t think the flag was intentionally left at the same height or the wrong side.

  Frustrated is correct. There are LOTS of things wrong with the Obama campaign and Julia’s Life, but the location that the flag is drawn is such a minor detail that it’s really not even worth mentioning.

First year Tiger Cubs Scout knowledge. Then again I am sure the crowd in the White House didn’t belong to Boy Scouts. The Little Stalin Summer Camp took all their time. To the Obama’s folks the flag should appear on the ground or burning.

  I am a woman and never belonged to scouts of any kind, but I know the flag should be above others. Perhaps it is an unconscious (or conscious) slip since Obama and his ilk don’t seem to think the U.S. should be above any other country.

looks like on Obamanation’s flag the Ol Stars n Stripes lost a few stars too! Ahh but what’s in a number eh? 20….50…..57….all the same to him…of course the less of those pesky “states rights” he has to deal with the better, so 20 stars might just be wishful thinking!

  If Obongo declares Marshall Law before Nov, then it is the admin that will be in (big) trouble, not the people. I seriously doubt he can do this (short of a disaster far worse than anything we’ve seen before) since Lincoln himself during the hieght of the civil war (when the outcome was still very much in doubt) did not suspend the election of 1864.

why would a communist anti-American and non-American such as obama be expected to know anything about our National proud RESPECT for the Flag that millions of Americans have died for, like, also, where to put his hand when the Anthem is played, and the Allegiance is said, and how to behave when the Flag is displayed — and like no sneering in agreement at “ALL THIS FOR A D*MN FLAG…” etc etc.

  The U.S. Flag Code allows for flying flags at the same height. For flag poles of the same height, the U.S. Flag should always be in the senior position (the flag’s right – on the left as you are viewing it).
  
  On a separate and personal pet peeve of mine, no company flag, including a college flag, should be flown on the same pole as the U.S. flag.

You got them good blaze. This is definitive proof that President Obama and his minions are american hating comunists that will stop at nothing to undermine our country.

When you post stories like this it just hurts the blazes credibility as a news source. Talk about nit picking. How about some in depth analysis on todays job numbers or the future of the economy.

Too anyone who writes back “Why did you read the article then?”, this is my resposne. If i go to a restaurant I like and expect to get great service and quality food and don’t what do I do? I leave a comment for the manager so hopefully next time my services is better. This is my way of telling the blaze to get better stories and don’t feed me crap.

  I’m an OWS’er? Thats pretty good, click on some of my other comments in other stories and see if you still think I’m an OWS’er. I just think this is a stupid story and feeds into a narative that liberals love that we are somehow ignorant fools that follow men like Beck or Limbaugh blindly without questioning the stories they present us.
