NY Times Admits: New French Socialist Prez’s Policies are a ‘Better Fit’ for the U.S. Because…

They’re words that have to be read to be believed.

In a news article in the New York Times, the paper suggests that newly-elected Socialist President Francois Hollande and his economic polices are likely a “better fit” for the U.S. economic positions (i.e. the new president’s policies are more palatable to the Obama administration than outgoing President Sarkozy). It then goes on to lay out how the Socialist and Barack Obama are ideologically linked.

“With the victory of the Socialist candidate, François Hollande, in the French presidential election,” the article begins, “the White House has lost one of its closest allies on the Continent, but perhaps gained one with economic policy beliefs more closely aligned with its own.”

Then the article goes on to lay out its case: Hollande is against austerity, Obama is against austerity; Hollande believes in government spending its way out of recession, Obama believes in government spending its way out of recession.

These quotes in the Times article are clear:

  • “…[T]he White House objects to [austerity] on the grounds that cutting budgets too soon will lead to sluggish growth and high unemployment across Europe without satisfying the demands of skittish bond investors. Mr. Hollande … ran on a promise of rebalancing Europe away from austerity and toward growth, and his narrow victory is seen in Washington as a public rejection of governments imposing strict cuts on battered economies.”
  • “[Hollande] also supports measures to support growth by, for instance, bolstering infrastructure spending.” The Obama administration had pushed for such pro-growth policy changes even as Mr. Sarkozy joined Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany in calling for deep spending cuts.”
  • “Mr. Hollande seems ‘naturally more palatable to the administration,’ said Justin Vaïsse, the director of research for the Center on the United States and Europe at the Brookings Institution. The administration seems to reason that “Europe probably has a better chance of avoiding a breakup or another renewed sovereign debt crisis by focusing on growth, rather than just sticking to austerity,” he said.”
  • “Observers said that though Mr. Hollande was likely to hew closer to the Obama administration on economic issues … .”

Of course the Times doesn’t really explain what Socialism is (and its brutal history) or that Hollande is floating a 75 percent tax rate on the country’s top earners.

In sum: France just elected a Socialist, and his economic policies should be gladly accepted by the Obama administration because Obama and the Socialist are aligned on their ideology.

Maybe that doesn’t surprise you — but does it concern you?

How can anyone have any doubts as to obamas socialistic leanings? This article cements it for myself and others I am sure. Folks we are at war. Maybe not the type fought with guns and knives, but a war non the less. We are at war for the future of our country, the little freedoms we have left and our families. Obama, progressives, communists, and Fox-Piven have succeeded where Japan, Hitler, Musilini, Moa, and Stalin have failed. After WWII all of these people knew they would never be able to defeat America in a gun fought battle. They have managed to use our freedoms, to divide us, enslave us, and create an America loathing youth capable of and willing to use violence against their fellow Americans.

Under socialism, incentives play a minimal role or are ignored totally. A centrally planned economy without market prices or profits, where property is owned by the state, is a system without an effective incentive mechanism to direct economic activity. By failing to emphasize incentives, socialism is a theory inconsistent with human nature and is therefore doomed to fail. Socialism is based on the theory that INCENTIVES DON’T MATTER! Without competition, centrally planned economies do not have an effective incentive structure to coordinate economic activity. Without incentives the results are a spiraling cycle of poverty and misery. Instead of continually re-allocating resources towards greater efficiency, socialism falls into a vortex of inefficiency and failure.

enough already! France does not have “a centrally planned economy”. It’s a free market society. Hollande’s socialists mereley believe in Keynesianism. Stop freaking out and bringing up images of the Soviet Union.

Once again the NYTimes shows its true colors; Obama is probably crowing louder than a brooding hen over the victory of his socialist extremist brethren in Europe.

They use the word growth like Obama uses investment here. How can you grow anything but the size of government with more gov. Spending? They have to take a dollar from someone in order to spend it elsewhere. Your children get to pay for this generation jobs.

In 2011 the Former Marxist guerrilla fighter Dilma Rousseff was elected President of Brazil. Obama promised her that the U.S. would buy Brazil’s oil….(Brazilian Oil -Soros)…then he sent word to Communist Putin that soon he would be more flexible with America’s missile defense system….he is meeting with the Muslim Brotherhood in the White House…he is negotiating with the Taliban in Afghanistan. .what is he promising to Socialist President Hollande ?

The people of france and greece have spoken. Our only hope is that the collapse of their countries and the EURO happen before our election. A second term Obama and still too few Tea Party congressmen and Senators would do permenant damage to the last free market country on earth.

It’s really early in the day to have high blood pressure already. However…..What the %^&*????
How did we get here? Where is the public out cry? How have people forgotten what socialism really is? Why don’t people remember the intentional starvation of millions of people in China and Russia under socialism? I refuse to believe that this is who we are in the US. I may find myself in a re education camp some day but I will never swallow socialism and embrace it here.

Okay, okay, so… Hollande is a Socialist, true. Obama and Hollande have closely aligned ‘economic policy beliefs’, true (even the NYTimes says so). But, Obama is not a Socialist.
Hollande = Socialist, Obama = Hollande, Obama != Socialist. Yep, perfect logical sense to a liberal. *facepalm*
