About Face: After Blasting Obama for Romney Attacks, Mayor Cory Booker Quickly Releases Video Backtracking

On Sunday, Newark, NJ, Mayor Cory Booker grabbed headlines by criticizing the Obama camp for its attacks on Mitt Romney’s time at Bain Capital.

“To me, we’re just getting to a ridiculous point in America,” he said on “Meet the Press” Sunday morning.

“Especially, I know, I live in a state where pension funds, unions and other people are investing in companies like Bain Capital. If you look at the totality of Bain Capital’s record — they’ve done a lot to support businesses, to grow businesses and this to me, I’m very uncomfortable.”

But that criticism was short-lived. By Sunday night, Booker had released a YouTube video backtracking and saying such an examination of Romney’s business record is “reasonable” and the he “encourages” it. He also made it clear that Obama “more then deserves reelection”:

The quick about face led the crew of “Fox & Friends” to speculate if the White House called Booker and pressured him to clarify. And even the crew over at “Morning Joe” couldn’t deny the odd backtrack. In fact, they coined a new phrase for Booker’s YouTube confession: the “hostage video.”

Business Insider explains:

In the clarification video, Booker says at one point that he would encourage the Obama campaign to look into Romney’s record at Bain Capital.

Host Joe Scarborough said Booker’s appearance and subsequent “hostage video” does nothing but “underline how bad the administration’s position is on this.”

“He got really nervous when they said they were going to cut off his head,” Scarborough said, referring to the framing in the video that … cuts off Booker’s head.

Around three minutes into that “Morning Joe” clip, multiple hosts refer to the video as “the hostage video.”

“And by the way,” host Joe Scarborough said, “most Democrats that fund the party agree with Cory Booker and not with Barack Obama.”

      The first comments are usually the truth. Booker last week with Christie and now this..the party wasn’t happy. Too bad a politician can’t say what he believes and is true without his own party attacking. One more thing showing the “tolerance” of the Demorat party.

      You are right Obama could have a gay affair in the Lincoln Bedroom then marry his gay lover and enter into a polygamous marriage ,eat only bald eagles ,use the U.S. flag as toilet paper, surrender all U.S. nukes to Russia,swear alligance to Satan and the NAACP will somehow Justify it,black minster will somehow justify it and he’ll get 90% of the black vote.

    Obama was elected state Senator in 1997. The more time Obama spent in the state capital the lower the high school drop out rate in Chicago.

    He was part of the problem.

    So if we want America to Prosper, we buy him a south Pacific Island & make sure he stays there :)

    And I was just starting to admire Mr. Mayor. I could like him even if his opinions were different than mine (for I am solid in my own and not threatened by opposing views) but the about-face tells me he has caved to pressure, thug-style pressure. Maybe I should pray for him – who knows what they said to force him to make a fool out of himself with the 180? Must’ve been convincing. Scary government at this moment.

      He has experience with thugs. Remember the whole Whitney funeral debalce when the thugs allowed a cease fire, to allow the funeral? Thugs and gangs allowed them to hold the funeral for crack head Whitney. He was allowed a few hours for common sense recently, then the white collar lefty thugs stopped allowing for that too.

    Qualify & Quantify the improvements of people that Obama was helping in Chicago in terms of education or housing.

    There are none.

    The American Spectator had an article that describe the housing projects that Valerie Jarrett & Rezko were part of. There is no need for contaminated CHINESE dry wall. Valerie & Rezko can make poor people quite miserable with the shoddy housing projects they build while getting filthy rich.

      Being brave in an emergency does not make one brave in all situations. A man of honor would have stood by his initial beliefs and a man of intellect would have been able to predict what would occur with his original video denouncing 0bama. In meet the press he expressed frustration at divisiveness from both sides including his own, and in his second video he said the same thing but added praise for some of Obama’s achievements, which is natural considering he’s a democrat and which is expected during a campaign year. What’s the problem??
