Malia Obama Stories Disappear From the Web…Again

Remember back in March when news stories about Malia Obama vacationing in Mexico started disappearing from the web?

The White House ultimately admitted to asking news outlets to pull their stories in order to protect the first daughter’s safety while she was abroad, and also because there was “no vital news interest.”

It seems the same thing has happened again, this time after Malia attended a concert last week by U.K. boy band One Direction.

The Daily Caller pointed out that two of the main outlets that covered Malia’s attendance have since scrubbed their stories or heavily altered them.

The Huffington Post on Friday ran the the headline, “Malia Obama, One Direction Fan: First Daughter Attends Boy Band Concert with Secret Service in Tow.”

By Sunday, a link to the story was redirecting to website’s “Entertainment” page:

The Huffington Post's story about Malia attending the concert redirects to its main "Entertainment" page.

BuzzFeed took a different approach. Its Saturday post, titled “Malia Obama Goes to the One Direction Concert with the Secret Service,” was subsequently changed to “Secret Service Agent Does Not Appear To Enjoy One Direction Concert.” Instead of the picture of Malia in the audience, the post’s only feature was a skinny, cropped image of the glaring Secret Service agent:

Still, not all news mentions of Malia’s concert-going have been removed: The Daily Mail, which removed its version of the Mexico story, still has its story up, as does the Washington Examiner. TMZ, one of the first outlets to publish the photograph of Malia at the concert, still has its version up as well.

As the Daily Caller noted, the main difference between the Mexico and concert stories is that the Mexico reports were published while Malia was still in the country, thus posing a potential security risk. The concert reports, however, were only published after the fact — posing no risk to Malia’s safety.

Whatever it might say about not reporting on the Obama girls, it certainly hasn’t stopped the White House from trotting them out when necessary to suit the president’s political needs.

I read where she was embarrassed by having the S/S men with her. Don’t we have any female S/S agents ?? This is 2012, not 1956.

Is there some kind of “War on Women” or something – that the girls can’t get in the S/S??

Just askin’ :O)

Nonetheless, when news stories can be “scrubbed” like this, we are at a very serious crossroads…..

  female ss agents dont have the strength and physical prowess that males do. thats why the guys went to the concert. BUT………you d think the ss would have sent at least one female agent………..since guys are not appreciated in the ladies room.

  During the 1996 Olympics Chelsea Clinton showed up at the tennis venue. Two blacked out suv’s pulled into the players entrance. She had two agents with her and I think one was a female.

  No female SS? Well, they might get assigned to protect Obama, and that would go against his Muslim upbringing – which of course didn’t happen. Just like his birth in Kenya and his upbringing in Indonesia didn’t happen, even though he said he was there. Maybe you will call me a “birther”, but I can tell you this: Put this to a jury trial and see what the jury and the courts would find as truth. The same juries and courts are executing people in this country, but we are supposed to believe anything the Regime says?

  Let’s see a 5’6″-90lb-woman stop two or more 6’3″-195lb-man(men) from rushing and smashing into her into the ground…which is usually cement or hard tarmac. A 6’3″ large security-man is much more intimmidating. In the fire-departments, the woman can’t even handle most fire-ladders wthout a man to assist her…large building fire…she”cant hoist the 20foot-ladder…two man-fire-fighters rush to help…those did NOT see the people on the 5th-floor smoke-filled window…guess who died cause a weak woman couldn’t pass the earlier test of raising individual ladders by one’s self…1-person, 1-ladder. Oh to be “PC” will just weaken all standards so women can doo all things firefighting.

  Children of President should be off limits. And I have a lot of respect for the President and first lady in that they are not, like previous Republican and Democratic Presidents, VP’s and candidates have done. Trying to utilize the visibility to position them in the public eye for current and future gain. Chelsea Clinton and Meagan McCain are good examples.

I think that ALL children of Presidents should be off limits. Too bad these news organizations either pulled the stories or didn’t print it in the first place didn’t feel that way when Bush was in office. Leave the kids alone.

It doesn’t matter if she went to a concert, and it doesn’t matter if she could only do so with taxpayer-funded protection. That’s what they are there for. We cannot begrudge this child a little fun outing just because we think her daddy’s politics stink.

  The SS goes with her no matter what. If she spent the night at a friend’s house, they go. If she goes to school, they go. If she goes to the library, they go. If she goes to the movies, they go.
  
  The alternative is to never let her go anywhere. Is that right? No, of course it isn’t. I don’t wish that on this child. There is no reason not to try to make her life as normal as possible. Bad enough she has to endure the SS, but it’s for her own good.
  
  Come on, give the kid a break. We don’t need to begrudge her this.

Is there any wonder we are trillions of dollars in debt that won’t be paid off for generations to come. I have no problem with them being scrubbed, because children of politicians should be off limits. Besides, this photo has to be a fake. If Malia sat down, she would be sitting in the ‘secret service’ guy’s lap.

  I think the man’s face was photoshopped into the picture to make people believe HE was the SS agent. The REAL SS agents are the 2 women to her right (our left) who are standing there but not especially enjoying the concert. In fact,one seems to be wearing a suit!

  It does appear to be photo shopped but it you look closely the row directly behind her, except the seat the agent is sitting in appears to be empty. There are big gaps vertically between the girls heads. If you look to the right you will see another man sitting on that same row which gives the same impression of the SS and Malia. There are empty seats behind Malia.
