Chris Rock: ‘We Ignore the President’s Whiteness, But It’s There’

Comedian Chris Rock made a crack about President Barack Obama’s “whiteness” on Thursday, saying most people ignore it “but it’s there.”

Appearing on NBC’s “Today Show” Thursday to promote his new animated movie “Madagascar 3,” Rock said he’s portrayal of the zebra character is “in honor of our zebra president.”

“I’ll take the zebra, you know, in honor of our zebra president, you know, black and white, white and black,” Rock said when asked which animal he would most want to be. “I love our president, but he’s, you know, he’s black and white, he appeals to all and that’s what I’m going for….we ignore the president’s whiteness, but it’s there, it’s there.”

I “know that’s what they say because I have been accused of that myself for other postings on other forums. However: they don’t know me, I grew up in the poorest of poor neighborhoods. I was one of 3 male white kids in my elementary school in Washington state in the late 70′s and early 80.s They don’t know that I grew up on the west side. Where I live that matters. Till this day my street smarts i use more than my book smarts. It has kept me alive. yet all that for them it is only an EXCUSSE.
  
  Every individual has the power to think differently whether you are raised in it or not. I chose early on to think differently. Just as other people like Allen West has. It is sad that most of the liberal thinkers think this way. You are right I don’t think like that it is probably the last way I would think. It is sad to see other people think this way every day in and out. Yet, using logic it is no excuse to think that way and even portray yourself in that light.

  I find racist to be too harsh a word.
  
  A racist is prejudiced toward a particular race; believing that one race is better than another. A synonym would be ‘bigot’.
  
  Some on the Left may or may not be racist, but there certainly is a tendency to divide the world into white, black, brown, yellow and red. It is an easy way to pit us against each other.
  
  We cannot disagree with Obama, Holder or Waters without being called racist by the Left, when in reality we disagree with their principals. They see color, we see character.
  
  I know that’s what you meant. I don’t know if there is a word for ‘it, but I don’t think ‘racist’ is it. Can someone help me out?

Rock is a funny man. The definition of hypocrisy and a racist to boot (by liberal definitions of conservatives)…. but still a funny man I think. (doesn’t mean I agree with his hypocrisy or racism)

  No Carnac, Chris has no wisdom that he can share. What should be seen in OBUMMER is: an ideologue who’s sole purpose is to dismantle this nation. Both sides have been doing it in slow steps but it took OBUMMER to bring it on full strength. We the people let him in, stick his foot in the door, you see the results.
  
  I’ve said it many times, both house need to be washed and the floors bleached. Romney, hopefully, will have 4 years, then he should go also. It’s going to take many years to straighten out the mess that’s been created in the past; we need to start from the ground up, locally, state then federal, all branches.
  
  It’s going to be interesting to see who Romney brings in to key positions if elected. Vet these new comers and scrutinize their ideologies, voice your opinions loudly with the vetted info you gather, that is, if the information gathered is negative to the ideals of this nation.
