Did Angry Celtics Fan Dump Beverage on LeBron James After Miami Win?

Whether it was on purpose or not remains unclear, but LeBron James definitely got wet after helping the Miami Heat beat the Boston Celtics last night.

During game six of the Easter Conference Finals, James scored 45 points — 30 before halftime — and had 15 rebounds contributing to the 98-79 victory over the Celtics.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra described James as “absolutely fearless” and “contagious” last night.

“The way he approached the last 48 hours, and not only LeBron, but everybody else,” Spoelstra said. “Nobody likes getting dirt thrown on your face before you’re even dead. He showed great resolve.”

Still, it wasn’t dirt that got thrown in James’ face last night. As he was leaving the court, something appears to be spilled through a mesh netting over James walking to the locker room.

I’m sure he didn’t mind after that beat down he put on the Celts. I’m a Cleveland Cavs fan and I’m over LeBron leaving. Especially now that we have Kyrie Irving. LeBron is still an Ohio boy so I’m rooting for Miami to get one. Chris Bosh helped open up the floor for LeBron last night.

I’m a Celtic fan but I’m here to tell you. I think that the Heat have a better chance of beating those upstart punks the Thunder. Say what you want about Labron James. The man is a beast at his position. Drunk fans make the game unbearable with their loud attitude. They beat us fair and square and fans should just get over it and move on to game 7. It’s about time that the Eastern Conference win the NBA Championship.

As a Celtics fan, I understand being disappointed with a loss. This is no way no act!! We lost fair and square. James had a great night and never lost focus. The Heat won because they wanted it more. That does not give anyone the right to pour a drink on another human being. I hope that fan who wasted the beverage has explosive diarrhea.

SailPACE, you’re right he didn’t actually go to college, he was talented enough to come straight out of high school into pro B’Ball. But believe me he had tons of scholarship offers. No matter if he went to higher education or not, he is still no Hood Rat, not a criminal and did not deserve to be treated that way.

And I am not even a fan of his. I think he is arrogant, but most Basketball Stars are like Kobe Bryant and even my boy Allen Iverson.

Whether you like LeBron or not, sportsmanship is the name of the game both in sports and in politics. The sad part is that it is a lost art and is rarely practiced.

  However LeBron has never been known for his own sportsmanship either! ie: Purposely not shaking hands with Dwight Howard after the Magic eliminated them a few years back. LeBron is admired for his “talent” yet hated for his crappy “I’m King James” attitude!

seriously??? Unless there is a video of the top where the drink came from this is such a waste of time, could have been a jerk fan unhappy about the loss, could have been an excited Miami fan leaning over to watch him walk in who spilled his drink. Point being there is no way to know from what is posted here so why bother writing about it at all? If there is any story here it is that he handled the situation well

Yes, sports figures such as LeBron James are rich. They are rich because the fans spend vast amounts of money on tickets, businesses pay vast amounts of money for advertising, TV networks spend vast amounts of money for the priviledge of broadcasting the games and there is a lot of revenue from sales of”Approved Merchandise”. These sports stars get paid vast sums of money because we allow it. Because, directly or indirectly, we fund them. We the public and the fans pay for it.

As far as pouring any liquid on a player, just because he is rich or because he led his team to victory, is totally unacceptable. I’m not saying it was on purpose. It may have been an accident. However, fans should be careful to prevent this from happening. If it was on purpose, whoever did it should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We’ve all seen videos of how stupid soccer fans in foreign countries act. We don’t want nor should we allow our sports events to degrade into animalistic and zoo like behavior. This is America and Americans should rise above such banal actions.

What we don’t care about are people like you, who want to remain in the dark all your life. There is nothing hood rat about Mr James. He has never lived in the hood, he went to high school and college just like loads of other ambitious students. He is now a very successful ball player world renowned, while you sit back in your bitter jealousy racist world of contempt.

The person who threw the beer should be identified and arrested for assault. Players have to be protected from fans who are most often drunk and combative. That beer could have been acid and it could have been much worse. Boston needs to take control of their fans as should every arena security that hosts large groups of people.

  I don’t care for Lebron and his attitude, but I agree that this shouldn’t happen. Drunk fans always end up ruining the games. They always spill their beer on people and are constantly loud and obnoxious. Simply put they should not be selling beer to inotoxicated people. The arenas and stadium are partially to blame. They should be cut off after a certain amount of drinks.
