Border Patrol Group Representing 17,000 Agents Calls on Eric Holder to Resign Over Fast and Furious
The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) is joining a growing chorus of groups and lawmakers calling for the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder for his part in the failed gunrunning operation known as “Fast and Furious,” the Washington Times reports.
The NBPC represents all 17,000 of the Border Patrol’s “nonsupervisory agents.”
Council President George E. McCubbin III said the attorney general’s handling of the case was “a slap in the face to all Border Patrol agents who serve this country.” He also said Holder Β attorney has failed to provide any leadership within his department.
“It is time for Attorney General Eric Holder to show the least shred of responsibility and leadership and resign his post,” McCubbin told the Washington Times. “Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry deserves nothing less.”
Further, a Border Patrol agent is prohibited to cross into Mexico without approval from various U.S. and Mexican government agencies being informed, McCubbin explained. This is why he argues there is no way that Fast and Furious was carried out without knowledge and direct approval from the Justice Department and the Obama administration.
From the Washington Times report:
Two semi-automatic AK-47 assault weapons found at the scene of the Dec. 15, 2010, killing of Border Patrol AgentΒ Brian A. TerryΒ were traced by theΒ Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and ExplosivesΒ (ATF) to βstraw buyersβ who bought the weapons as part of the Fast and Furious investigation.
The agent died during a gunfight with heavily-armed Mexican bandits along the U.S.-MexicoΒ border south of Tucson, Ariz.
More than 2,000 weapons purchased during the ATF-led Fast and Furious operation were βwalkedβ to drug smugglers inΒ Mexico. More than 600 of them still are missing.
Mr. McCubbinΒ said Border Patrol agents are indoctrinated from day one of their training that βintegrity is their most important trait and that without it, they have little use to the agency.β He said agents who lie or show a lack of candor are disciplined quickly.
βThe standard that applies to these agents should at a minimum be applied to those who lead them,βΒ Mr. McCubbinΒ said. βIfΒ Eric HolderΒ were a Border Patrol agent and not the attorney general, he would have long ago been found unsuitable for government employment and terminated.β
Mr. McCubbinΒ said the βpolitical shenanigansβ surrounding Fast and Furious and the βpassing the blameβ must stop.
Just last week Holder responded to Sen. John Cornyn’s (R-Texas) call to resign during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. “I don’t have any intention of resigning,” Holder replied.

This undated photo provided by U.S. Customs and Border Protection shows U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian A. Terry. Terry was fatally shot north of the Arizona-Mexico border while trying to catch bandits who target illegal immigrants, the leader of a union representing agents said Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010. (AP Photo/U.S. Customs and Border Protection, File)
He also said the President Obama has “absolute confidence” in him as attorney general.
βThe heroism that Border Patrol AgentΒ Brian TerryΒ demonstrated on that cold night in the desert of Arizona was in keeping with the finest traditions of the United States Border Patrol and will never be forgotten by those who patrol this nationβs borders,β McCubbin said.
βWe cannot allow our agents to be sacrificed for no gain and not hold accountable those who approved the ill-conceived Operation Fast and Furious,” he added.
Holder sent Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, a letter last week that mentioned holding a meeting today between himself and lawmakers.
Holder is still trying to prevent contempt charges from being filed against him and has agreed to provide additional information to congressional investigators. The oversight committee is scheduled to consider taking a vote on the contempt charges on Wednesday.

Posted on June 18, 2012 at 4:52pmThis is nothing less than being an accessory to murder. If I were to provide a gun to Joe Blow and said Joe Blow was to take that gun and attempt to rob a bank and shot and killed someone in the process, I would be arrested as an accessory to second degree murder at least. There are hundreds of innocent Mexican nationals that have been murdered with the the guns that the obama administration provided to some of the most evil people in the world. Stepping down would seem like a slap on the wrist compared to what should be taking place. Where is the outrage from our so called elected officials that are treating this like some ten year old might have shoplifted a Snickers bar at a gas station. Load help us.

I’m sure your people can help you out finding one that is strong and straight, after all, those that fought and died for the rights of black Americans would not find satisfaction from your violating the rights of any American. For whatever personal faults Dr. King had, he would have been appaled at your
insouciant manner of being the highest law enforcement officer in the country.

Posted on June 18, 2012 at 4:03pmAfter 94 years of leading the Democrat-majority Congress, Rep. Nancy Pelosi retires to take the position as manager of a multi-billion hive mind of the Borg collective. “My previous existence as Madam Speaker, combined with cutting-edge plastic surgeries have fully prepared me for this dream job,” said the Democrat Representative from San Francisco. “Ever since I was a little girl, all I really wanted in life was to become a biomechanical hive queen in a Borg campaign to assimilate Earth and force humans to appreciate the benefits of enhanced living as mindless drones controlled by collective consciousness.”
Speaker of the House continued, “As soon as Walter Reed switches my vital-essence tubes and the architect’s plans for my plastic surgeries from Congress to the Borg Collective, I shall be able to administer the collective consciousness of a billion people, who speak not with a billion voices, but with my voice, which is the point of the exercise.

Posted on June 18, 2012 at 3:55pmGet this man out of office now. He needs to be tried for sedition and an attempt to overthrow of this government. Holder is a man who should never have been allowed to step foot in our Department of Justice. Obama is using him to promote his agenda by interefering with Justice. That is why Obama picked Holder out. Holder and Obama both should be tried. Those congressmen who allowed this crooked man to work in our Government should all be recalled. These people have put upon this country a burden that is causing problems for the American people with not being able to seek Justice by the Law of this land. This will stop or the people will have the final say. The American people deserve bettern that what has been done to them in the way of these crooked maneuvers.

Posted on June 18, 2012 at 3:49pmHolder. It’s just embarrassing now. I really think he is holding on just in case Barak loses. Who knows what the justice dept. has come across dealing with a corrupt administration. He’s holding the key keeping the skeletons in the closet. Obama has the upmost confidence Holder will keep his secrets safe. Honestly that is the only reason I can see that this man is still holding the office he is. You don’t get there by being stupid. Maybe lucky to a degree, but the man has a brain. He the gatekeeper to the corrupt practices we don’t yet know about this WH.
