‘Abortionists Target Black Babies’: NC Church Posts Sign Accusing Planned Parenthood & Others of Racism

Macedonia Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina, is turning heads with a new pro-life sign posted outside the house of worship. Rather than merely standing in opposition to abortion, the message alleges that abortion providers purposefully target African Americans — a charge that is regularly waged against Planned Parenthood, among other groups.

“Ultimate Racism — Abortionists Target Black Babies,” reads the sign, which was posted last Thursday.

In an interview with WISTV, Pastor Patrick Dye discussed the church’s reasoning for posting the controversial message, claiming that he refuses to ignore the issue any longer.

“I cannot be silent and just say that’s somebody else’s problem or I’m not dark enough to care about that issue. I can’t do that,” Dye explained in an interview with the local outlet. “This is the crime of America.”

Considering the controversy surrounding Planned Parenthood, the women’s health organization coming under fire most recently for allegedly allowing sex-selective abortions, it’s no surprise that Dye mentioned the group in his commentary about the issue.

“Planned Parenthood purposely locates in minority communities. The Planned Parenthood clinic is located at the edge of a white community, but right there within walking distance of the housing project on Forest Drive and Two Notch Road,” he added.

While Dye assumes the clinic attempts to attract African Americans, a spokesperson for the group claims that the average patient is between 18 and 24. Rather than abortion, the representative claims that birth control is the most sought after service.

But Live Action, a pro-life group known for undercover advocacy, claims to have collected information proving that at least some Planned Parenthood clinics have been willing to take monies based on a racist agenda in the past (read more about that here).

“For those who don’t agree, I hope it would get them to thinking, considering the issue, and being willing to have an open heart and open mind to say, ‘What is it I need to know?” Dye also told WISTV.

This isn’t the first time that the church, led by Dye, who is white, has posted an anti-abortion sign. In fact, over the past five years, this is the 12th time that such a message was placed outside of the church.

I disagree. This again, like so many of America’s problems is about personal responsibility. The people who walk through the door of Planned Parenthood were free to make that decision. It is not racist. It is their choice, like so many other things in life. If they make poor decisions and don’t take personal responsibility it is no one else’s fault but their own.

  Do you know Margaret Sanger? Her goal is to wipe out all the blacks, Jews, minorities. This is the origin of PP. Abortions means to eliminate the humanity. So in the future we can do more than abortion, we can kill fetus, toddler, people with IQ less than 100, people with rare disease, people with disability, people with vegetable, elders.
  Keep thinking abortionist a choice! Because someday, maybe maybe you might have a serious car accident and that doesn’t kill you but put you in a sever condition, then there will be no one who is willing to spend money for the cure but want to put you to death! Or maybe you are lucky enough, you can live up to 75 but because of lack of humanity, they might want to put you to death when you are 70.

  Sanger want to stop the poor,and uneducated from breeding and createing a societal group depended upon the government and charity for survial. It might be considered racist by today’s standards but he77 by todays standard any test that a minority doesn’t pass is racist. So I would say Sanger was evil yes but racist no.

If the clinic is located at the edge of a white community, but within walking distance of (presumably mostly black) low-income housing, how is that “targeting” blacks? I’d call it equal-opportunity access to reproductive health services for both races..

  Please see my comment to “Chet” below. PP has probably prevented more abortions than all the laws the anti-abortion movement has sponsored since Roe v. Wade. As for Sanger, it’s very sad that you do not appreciate her in all her complexity. Her initial forays into contraception were prompted by her empathy for poor immigrant women–remember, Italians, Poles, Jews, etc. were regarded as distinct “races” then–in NYC around 1910. She thought that limiting births would improve the quality of the general population, of all races, by mitigating poverty. She not only did not endorse abortion but denounced it as a great evil. She was once incautious enough to speak before an audience of Klanswomen, addressing them strictly as women, explaining birth control without any particular reference to race. She utterly repudiated Nazi efforts to claim her as an inspiration, and abhorred the Nazi practices of compulsory euthanasia and violent racial extermination as a total perversion of what eugenics was all about. She was concerned to limit births among southern blacks because they were poor, not because they were black. If she did not want them to get the idea that eugenics’ aim was the extermination of the black race, it was because that was, in fact, not its aim at all. You can easily

In his book, Intellectual Morons, Daniel Flynn devotes an entire chapter to the evil of Margaret Sanger and her Utopian dream of a world free of the ‘human weeds’ – those inferior beings – either poor, or black; physically deformed or having by birth or otherwise any diminished mental capacity. She was a pioneer in the eugenics movement and though she took great pains to mask it, she especially targeted blacks for extermination through abortion, something which goes on even to today. This is the woman who spawned Planned Parenthood, one of the most evil groups on the planet and so shameless are they that they even give a Margaret Sanger annual award – sorry can’t remember what it’s for.
She was flat out evil and so is her creation – Planned Parenthood.

Thank God for pastors and churches that stand up unashamedly against sin and yes, abortion is SIN–Murder. And we have a president who is FOR abortion. i.e. murder of the unborn, yet the Black Community will vote for him to be re-elected come November. What has Obama done FOR the African-American community. NOTHING! Obama, I submit, is more white than black. He caters to rich white people.He has done nothing to help the inner-cities with drugs and violence. Are we any better off today than we were 4 yrs. ago? He sues a state who is trying to enforce the laws he wont and if the immigration laws were enforced, drugs flowing to the black communities would be severely curtailed. Margaret Sanger, originator of PP concepts, was a rabid racist, firm believer in survival of the fittest, “weak” races should go, etc. Today she is esteemed & considered to be a pioneer in women’s rights, so to find the information referenced here, one has to dig pretty deeply. But I would say that Margaret Sanger is the ultimate racist, proponent of ethnic cleansing that she was.
It doesn’t surprise me in the least that PP is targeting black babies–it’s just business as usual for PP.

Being from the deep South, I have NEVER heard of a black woman having an abortion. Every day, I see black girls that look to be between 15 and 18, with five or six kids in tow. More kids equal more free stuff. Why would they want to have abortions?

  I would like to add on why a baptist church felt the need to display this message in the first place. Why is this affiliated with the church as I feel it is a distraction from the message you are intended to hear while at service. If our churches cannot refrain from entering the political machine of race baiting, then where is the sanctuary for believers? It is sad that a church’s message leaves out the word of God in place of racism, spin and hate.

The color of the child does not matter, but the roots of abortion are deeply connected to racism. Murder is MURDER, no matter what the color or sex of that baby is.

Hillary Clinton said she most admires Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood. Sanger’s intention was to rid society of its “undesireables” through forced abortion and sterilization. #1 on her list were blacks- maybe that’s why the venue of one of her speeches was the auxillary of the KKK.

Planned Parenthood was started by Democrat Margaret Sanger who believed people of darker skin color were inferior to whites. Sanger wanted to curb the birthrate of people of color to stop their having so many of what she believed to be their inferior children.
Sanger was a frequent speaker to the K K K women’s group and the K K K was started by Democrats to hunt down blacks and Republicans.
