Protesters Show Up to Rally Against Karl Rove — But Can’t Really Say Who Karl Rove Is

Organized protesters set out to counter the issue of money in politics while marching over a mile through Washington DC last week. The heat index was a blistering 90 degrees, which seemed to add to the marchers’ aggression for their target, former Bush Administration Senior Adviser and Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove. While Rove has been out of the White House for over five years, he has remained active in fundraising for and promotion of conservative causes, particularly through his non-profit, Crossroads GPS.

Many of the protesters took issue with the success of Rove’s 501c4, stating it should be “illegal” even though they were themselves proud representatives of 501c4s. This conflation begs the question: Do these organized protesters even know why they are marching? Or do they even know who they are marching against?

The Blaze set out to uncover this mystery by asking the proud marchers one simple question: “Who is Karl Rove?” You may or not be shocked by their answers.

I blame all this country’s problems on the founders themselves. If they hadn’t bought slaves from the Muslim slave traders in Africa we wouldn’t have this problem today.

  Our “Founders” were born over two hundfred years AFTER slaves were brought to what would eventually emerge as “The Colonies”. By design, our Founding Fathers programmed in the destruction of the institution of slavery. Over 600,000 Americans died to free the slaves.
  The Republican party was founded by those that supported President Lincoln, who joined the Republican party shortly after it was formed. All the leading Civil Rights leaders, from Douglas to King were Republicans.

  I believe that the use of the word slave and slavery has become the PC point of the day. While it is a social injustice and evil let’s not forget that all races are both victims and victimizers. There are many forms of this concept and just like so many things in our culture the ideas become watered down, over utilized, and misrepresented when trying to push an agenda or ideology. One great example is the current trend of atheists using the concept of slavery in the OT/NT. Of course they always miss the concept that the bible was teaching the spiritual principle of our slavery to sin. The physical was meant to display the awfulness, oppression, and horror of the unseen spiritual reality that many are blind and oblivious to. They use it to indict God, rather than understand it was meant to be a lesson to all humanity about their condition. Modern day slavery still exists but in different forms. When a liberal imposes their ideology on me through laws or by force then I am enslaved by their world view, the same could be said of them in the reverse. I say all of this to caution people about engaging in the PC language and buzz words of the day because so many do not critical evalute words or statements any longer. Slavery is a condition of this life and the position of mankind indefinitely we must be careful in how we appropriate guilt and innocence lest we be guilty of presentism upon our forefathers….

Looking back future generations could say that our government imposed a different type of slavery upon minorities so that in their dependent state they would keep certain individuals/parties in power so that the aid would continue to come. In other words, if someone is addicted to a substance and that persons family enables thier addiction are they not helping enslave that person to their addiction? The same can be said for modern welfare assistance and programs. No one I know is against truly helping their fellow man, but when help becomes enabling then enslavement occurs and advantage of the enslaved ensues in the form of politically useful tools…..In the same way the kings of old used slaves to build monuments to themselves, their legacy, and their egos, modern politicians do essentially the same but in a different manner..

  The opposing African tribes took other captured tribesman and put them into slavery so the Africans started their own slavery of each other. When the Portugese came to the African coast, they traded barrels of mollases for slaves and of the 20-25 million of them that they, the French and the British brought over the the “New World” 95% when to South America and the Caribbean and the other 5% went to the Colonies which became the United States.
  
  As for the Muslims, those were the Barbary Pirates who started the “White Gold” slave trade, going up the down the European coast and taking women and children and selling them into slavery in the Middle East, while those numbers were into the 100′s of thousands, vs the African slave trade of millions, it was still slavery. In fact slavery in the Middle East didn’t formally end until the 1970′s. Slavery is still an institution in Japan and parts of China today. Some say the Foxconn plant in China making iPhones is a modern day slave factory with rice farmers forced to work on assembly lines, yes they get paid, but they hate the monotonous work, many commit suicide by jumping from the factory housing unit balconies to the ground.

  600,000 did not die to “free the slaves”. They died either because they were forced to fight or they were protecting their homeland. You Lincoln worshippers are as blind as jihadists. As if Jefferson, Madison, or Patrick Henry would be high fiving watching our voluntary union become an eternal prison. I guess you are fine with the federal government not protecting our borders and enslaving your children with never ending debt. Maybe you or your kids can be sent off to some 3rd world shi hole and win the hearts and minds and bring freedom to the rest of the world (sarcasm).

  You are right in many areas… But, Japan has not practiced “slavery” for a LONG time… In fact they HIGHLY look down on the mistreatment of others (although, due to their past, they don’t care so much about the Chinese….)
  
  Slavery in Japan has been long since abolished.
  
  It started in the 3rd century, and was ended in the Sengoku period (Warring States Period). Simple fact checking please… All areas that Japan had ever “invaded” during its military conquest of WWII, had their slavery programs dis-continued as soon as Japan took over… The Japanese Military DID turn POW’s into laborer’s to build railways during that time, but this ended shortly after the war was finished.

  Very well said. I would also add that had Barry Goldwater defeated LBJ for the Presidential election our nation would not be facing nearly the amount of turmoil it currently does. We wouldn’t have the debt we have, the poor would have more opportunities, the health of the nation would be drastically better for all races. Unfortunately, to buy minority voters, Lyndon Johnson destroyed all of that out of a lust for power and to keep the Democratic party in charge through dependence. If you knew ANY history you would know that and the 3/5th compromise was the beginning of the end of slavery; not a way to demean the black man.   Excellent point by SleazyHippos about slavery in the bible. First of all the “slaves” that the Hebrews had weren’t slaves at all but servants who were treated as family members. Read about Abraham asking God if the promised nation would come through is eldest male servant. More importantly the bible is talking about slavery to sin. True Liberty is found only in Christ and any student of the Holy Bible knows that. It is thus reasonable to understand, since the founders were ALL students of the Holy Bible, that when they speak of “Freedom” and “Liberty” there weren’t speaking of having the right to smoke weed and buy prostitutes. They were talking about Christian Freedom and Christian Liberty. The Freedom to seek that personal relationship with Christ the Lord.
  
  Without Christ all of the “Libertarian” arguments for “Personal Liberty” miss the mark of the Founders intentions.

You mean the besides the guy in Bush’s inner circle who helped take the US into a war costing us trillions of dollars, while, for the first time in history, cut taxes during wartime? Does anyone think it’s hard to predict what happens to the deficit when you start a trillion dollar war and cut a trillion dollars in tax revenues? Nope, that’s easy math even for the ignorant. And of course after seven years of Bush/Rove the economy collapsed. No surprise there.
  
  So who is Rove? He’s the guy who is helping organize the couple hundred billionairs to buy the next US election, thanks to Citizens United. After a century of trying to limit the influence of money on elections, now the rich actually can legally buy elections. And anonomously! Praise God, this is what Jesus Christ himself hoped for, rule by the richest.

  Founders did not bring the slaves to the Americas. The blacks sold their own people with Muslim help to the English, Spaniard, and Portuguese settlers. The founders (white peoples) abolish the slavery. A lot of whites dropped dead to free the blacks. You need to blame the LJB and the Democratic Party for the kind of people who protest the common sense. The Democrats were reaching for power and made almost 100 percent of the blacks dependent of the f—king government. So, when you see the monkeys disturbing everyday life, blame the democrats, progressive, commies but not founders.   If this is not proof of how strong a delusion satan has cast over these poor souls. How desperate they must feel…how powerless they must feel to allow themselves to be used like this. I read many of the comments at the end of the article and every one of them miss the mark. These people are just the result of being along with everyone else in a lost and sinful world. Can’t you see that the media is playing the race card here? Are we (whites) supposed to loth these fellow children of God because they are being so deceived by the system they have been born into? How do you know how you would be acting if you were born into their conditions? These are just desperate people who would follow anyone who they believe would become their savior. They are just being manipulated by people who actually want to keep them in this condition. Getting a free hand out is better than having nothing. My mom always used to say “don’t judge someone until you walk a mile in their moccasins.” The only thing different about these people from the people who loth them is NOTHING…. They are… because this is the hand they were dealt. Get off your high horses and pray for this country and bring in a real Christian leader who would be led by God almighty and bring everyone beyond the standards you think you have attained.   In 1791 the African slaves in Haiti successfully revolted against the French who eventually fled the island. The slaves were freed to rule themselves as they have done for over 200 years.

  Ella, it’s amazing that the ignorance that we see portrayed in this story matches your own ignorance regarding the founding fathers philosophies and the sources of those philosophies. If you would invest a little time and read their writings you would understand that your comment has no substance based in reality, no different than the people in the story you’re just parroting partisan misconceptions.
  
  I can respect anybody’s opinion as long as it’s based in reason and truth, I suggest some reading a good starting place would be reading the book “The 5000 Year Leap” by Skousen then “The Making of America” by the same author to get a better understanding of the people you are blaming.
  The truth is if we had stuck with the founders philosophy of a constitutional small government with its understanding of human nature and adherence to natural law we wouldn’t have nearly as many problems as we do now, government causes the problems when it steps out of its constitutional bounds then turns around and tells the ignorant that it’s somebody else’s fault but they can righteously fix it but you need to keep them in power it’s the old dependency game.
  
  Sadly the slaves now willingly stay on the political plantation keeping their masters in power by their own choice.   The story of slaves in America begins with Christopher Columbus who was sold on the idea of capturing 500 Indians and selling them as slaves in Seville, Spain, which was done.
  Columbus did not receive any money; instead, he was imprisoned, since he was betrayed and became a victim of a conspiracy fostered by real authors of that idea whom he trusted and helped: five maranos who forsworn their religion and supposedly became Catholics – Luis de Torres, interpreter, Marco, the surgeon, Bemal, the physician, Alonzo de la Calle and Gabriel Sanchez.
  
  The idea of using Indians as a well-paid source of cheap labor persisted.

  Actual slavery on the American soil began not from “importing” men and women from Africa and Asia, but from “innocent” trading:
  Hayman Levy imported cheap glass beads, textiles, earrings, armbands and other cheap adornments from Holland and traded wit Indians for valuable fur pelts.   It was a bit after the “founding fathers, but it was Boston again. The Boston ship owners wanted to buy cheap molasses in the Caribbean Islands to make demon rum. They found that they could sell the rum to the Muslims (ownership of Black Africans is right according to the Koran) in exchange for Rum. They could trade the slaves to the islands for molasses. Later, when that market was saturated, they went to Louisiana (then a French colony) to trade slaves for molasses. Called the Triangular Trade, it was very profitable for the Bostonians.

Black African inter-tribal hatred and intolerance and insensitivity to everyone not in their tribe helped feed the slave trade as the original source. Guess what Ella?…they still forcibly abduct people and forcibly use them as slaves in parts of black Africa, as well as many parts of the world, often under the guise of indentured servitude, or maybe this; have you ever heard of the sex trade? Suppose you were oblivious to all this still existing, weren’t you? Quit whining about what was going on hundreds of years ago, that’s all libs do.
