Justice: Kids Who Bullied Bus Monitor Get 1 Year Suspension
At last, justice has been served in the small town of Greece, New York. The children who bullied bus monitor Karen Klein have been officially disciplined. New York’s WHAM 13 reports:
The Greece Central School District announced on Friday that four students involved in bullying a bus monitor will be suspended from school and regular bus transportation for one year.
The district is legally required to provide the students with an education.
This means the students will be transferred to the district Reengagement Center. This program keeps middle school students on track academically. [...]
Each student will be required to complete 50 hours of community service with senior citizens and will complete a formal program in bullying prevention.
So reform school, suspension and community service. Sounds like a perfect trifecta of punishment for this lot. You can refresh your memory on the original incident here.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 5:33pmThat’s a vacation not a punishment! Want to punish the little miscreants? Put them in school 40 hours a week 50 weeks a year. Suspension from school assumes the kids want to be there, most of them don’t. We’re going to punish you for cutting class by kicking you out of class. DDDUUHHH! Any wonder Johnny can’t read?
Remember Trevon Martin was on vacation from school for possessing pot when he got shot. Sanford is a LONG way from Miami.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 2:49pmI don’t think they got off too easy. I’ve been listening to liberals whine about bullying and how bad it is and how schools should have lessons against bullying, blah blah blah. We had bullies when I was young, too, but they got their britches tanned at school and at home for it. There were no “helicopter” parents then. Occasionally, some other student took the bullies behind the gym and gave them an attitude adjustment. The school did not have to add Anti-Bully 101 to the curriculum. I would probably have left them in school, but kicked them off the bus for a year and let their parents have to be responsible for getting their sorry little rear ends to school every day. Then, they might appreciate the bus monitor.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 2:27pmHas anyone addressed the issue that Mrs. Klein was a “bus monitor” !!!! I would like to make very clear that I do not support or condone in any way the behaviour of these kids, I find what they did absolutely repugnant. However, if Mrs. Klein could not even control a few teenagers without breaking down and crying, why IS she a bus monitor? Let’s think about this for a minute. What if something worse had been taking place on that bus? What would she do? With these kids, HELLO !!!! Get up. Stop the bus and address the situation. She is HOW old? And this is why this country is going down the toilet. Let’s reward weakness and incompetence. I feel bad for what happened to her but she should not have been in that job. Time to wake up people. Grow a thick skin and a spine. IN our lifetimes we will hear things like: “You’re fat, you’re dumb, you’re ugly, you lost, you failed, you flunked, you have cancer, you have alzheimers, sorry, your child died in a car accident, I don’t love you, I want a divorce”, etc, etc, etc. And yes, there will be bullies, those who will feel better about themselves by putting others down. People have to learn to deal with these things. We cannot coddle our entire society from cradle to death.
Again, I feel very bad for what Mrs. Klein had to endure but perhaps it had been time for her to retire, especially considering young people these days!!!!
Yes, this post will be disliked. FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS A GREAT THING even when we

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 2:45pmShe has no authority to place her hands on a student unless it is to prevent physical harm to one or more. Bus monitors are basically witnesses and that’s the unfortunate part.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 2:01pmI have been following this story with interest. I drive a school bus on the other side of Monroe County (where this took place), for a big school district. We do not have monitors and must handle things on our own. I and other drivers have been called many names as bad, if not worse, have had stuff thrown at us and nothing happens. The administration is afraid of the parents. All they care about is the tax dollars.I am happy to see that one of the districts in our area is finally doing something. Sad thing is that if this had not gone viral, nothing would have been done.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 1:32pmDouble and Triple good.. This would be a good path for liberals and progressives too.. Community service no entitlement programs.. Re-education to purge liberal ideology.. And hard work a lot of it..

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 12:11pmA public whupping, 20 thwacks each with a belt. And maybe they should have to have to mow Karen Klein’s lawn and trim her bushes for the rest of the summer. This could be quite arduous since she will likely soon be moving into a bigger house.
But suspension for a year? A “re-engagement” center? 50 hours of community service? Enrollment in an anti-bullying program? TOTAL OVERKILL for 10 minutes of doing what kids do.
I’ll tell you who should be worried: the kid who recorded the whole thing for all the world to see. He’s due for a little “re-engagement” from his fellow perps as soon as the heat is off!

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 11:22amIf schools enforced common sense consequences this probably wouldn’t have happened in the first place. The monitor said she didn’t write the punks up because she knew nothing would be done about it.
I’ve worked in a school where staff had to kiss thug ass all day long. Believe me no fun and it is part of the agenda to destroy our youth.

Severe Consequences will keep the unruly misfits at bay and send a strong message to the rest of the want-a-be misfits.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 10:54amEducation needs to be seen as a privilege. Eliminate mandatory attendance, EXPEL the delequents, and if they ever wish to return to school, make them EARN the privilege. There are millions of kids in foreign lands who would love to have the opportunity to attend school, but can’t.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 10:54amGee kicked out of school for a year, can’t ride the bus for a year and 50 hours of service working with seniors! Really! That’s it? What about the little b*****d that said, how about if I take out my knife and open you up! This is bull crap, and you know it.Just because they’re 12&13 years old! Put them in jail where they belong, and maybe they’ll learn something about respect! This isn’t justice, this is nothing more then a free pass for the the little brats. And please don’t tell me they’re just kids, and don’t know any better, they do know, they also know that because they’re minors they can get away with this crap! It’s time to give all kids a real lesson in life, other wise they will do it again, knowing nothing bad is going to happen to them, because they’re just kids! If you spank your kid,you go to jail,if he tells you he’s going to take a knife and open you up,he gets anger management, because he’s a kid and doesn’t under stand.Ask yourself this, where did your child learn about pulling a knife on someone? In school, from all the little gang bangers who don’t know any better because they’re just kids.Ya right!

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 10:41amTwo things:
The kids involved were guilty; the evidence was clear. Their parents will do these kids a favor by not filing suit against the schools.
I sincerely hope these kids are forced to scub out school buses for that year.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 10:35amWhy not make the kids apologize and kick them off the bus for a year? They kids need discipline but they also need and education and I am unsure of how a year without an education will help them.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 9:44amThese kids are being being punished more than Eric Holder. I’m beginning to be on the kid’s side. Are they going to be punished for life for some childish behavior on a bus? Maybe that lady was mean to them before.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 9:41amI know the public school system warps the idenity and spirit of children and removing them for a year will be the opportunity for their parents to rescue them from the herd mentality and character malformation inherent in American public schools. Other parents should understand their own children could end up on the other end of the liberal herd’s hate stick. Ever notice that teachers who abuse children don’t get nearly as much flak as children who act animalistic like their teachers. Homeschool your children. Don’t permit America’s amoral, dysfunctional public culture and bureaucratic mentality harden their hearts and warp their minds and personalities.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 9:18amSorry to be the Debbie Downer folks, but my cynical side is waiting for the appeal process. The parents of the little darlings will probably protest the punishment and take it all the way to the Supreme Court where Justice Roberts will conjure up some unbelievable reason why the kids shouldn’t be disciplined.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 8:00amI am glad to see the schools district actually DO something to these kids. They’ll have a record from now on. Ten years from now, when potential employers look at their records, they’ll hopefully have some explaining to do. Forever.
