Jul. 19, 2012 at 8:52pmthis is too much authority for one person.
If the Federal Government chooses which laws to enforce and which ignore — then States should do the same.
Let the Federal Government sue the State — an meaningless action.

Jul. 20, 2012 at 9:15amAgreed, and the states can do that as there is No constitutional ground for the federal governement to enforce the laws.

Jul. 20, 2012 at 11:41amActually, since it costs the states’ taxpayers money when the feds sue, it is NOT MEANINGLESS. Obama wants to bankrupt the states that don’t do EXACTLY AS HE DICTATES. So as illegals flood across the AZ border, bringing drugs, guns, murdering, kidnapping, and the Feds won’t enforce the border, AZ is forced to spend lots of money to defend itself from federal lawsuits.
This is absolute insanity. The end of the Republic is near.
I will not comply.
I AM JOHN GALT.

Jul. 20, 2012 at 2:59pmThe feds would win. but just have the states refuse to enact said law just like obamacare.Of course it will be harmful to the states, moneywise, their tax payers will have to foot the bill for others contraception.I think contraception should be the mandate and abortion be termed illegal except in extreme cases, rape, incest and health risk for mother.only

Jul. 20, 2012 at 3:56pmLet the Fed Judiciary play a minor role behind the states’ Judiciary. In other words, let the states decide if a federal law is to be adjudicated in a fed court or the states court.

Jul. 19, 2012 at 8:49pmStates should follow the President’s behavior — choose which laws they want to enforce.
The present administration is picking and choosing which laws to ignore or simply not enforce.
Rather than following the entire legal system, so why should the States?
The States should take a similar tactic. If a State decides not to follow the federal mandate, then they shouldn’t. Let the Federal Government sue them — a meaningless action. Let the Federal Government withhold Federal funding — this will weaken the Federal Government’s hold over State’s rights.

Jul. 20, 2012 at 10:50amHere is a Wikipedia report:
Warren Keith Urbom (born December 17, 1925)[1] is a United States federal judge.
Born in Atlanta, Nebraska, Urbom was a Technical Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II, from 1944 to 1946. He received an A.B. from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1950 and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1953. He was in private practice in Lincoln, Nebraska from 1953 to 1970.
On March 11, 1970, Urbom was nominated by President Richard Nixon to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska vacated by Robert Van Pelt. Urbom was confirmed by the United States Senate on April 23, 1970, and received his commission on April 24, 1970. He served as chief judge from 1972-1986. He was also an adjunct instructor at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Law from 1979 to 1990. He assumed senior status on December 31, 1990.

Jul. 19, 2012 at 8:26pmIf we are not free to follow G-d, then we are not not truly free in any sense of the word because we are not free to fulfill the purpose of our existence. What is more inherently human than that? These tyrants seize not only our liberty, but our most fundamental aspect of being. There are no distant shores to which we may flee. It is here that we must resist tyranny, it is here we must stand. The freedom bought with the blood of our forefathers can only be maintained by the courage of their sons.

Jul. 19, 2012 at 8:20pmWell, Judge Urbom, America now knows exactly who and what you are. America knows that you can be bought. Now that you have removed an individual’s ability to be treated fairly in your Court, some new lawsuits will be forthcoming.
My neighbor is a smoker, and he is very angry at the taxes he is forces to pay for his habit. After seeing your ruling, he has decided to demand that all taxpayers pay for his cigarettes. If a nineteen year old can have sex with anyone, anytime and as often as she wants, then demand that those of us opposed to birth control pay for her bad habit, then the same must be true for smokers and their bad habit.
Smokers can get lung cancer, but they don’t infect others with a communicable disease that requires treatment. Smoking cigarettes doesn’t leave a fetus on the bathroom floor. Smoking cigareetes doesn’t alter a young man or women’s life forever ( as Mr. Obama said; ‘If my daughter makes a mistake, I don’t want her punished with a baby’).
Both bad habits are difficult to break. Both bad habits are considered an addiction. Both bad habits need to be paid for by the tax payers.
Oh, and Judge? Before you go off on a ‘second hand’ smoke lecture, you must outlaw ANY smoke anywhere…that would include pot. Apparently some of your ‘friends’ are of the belief that pot smoke won’t aggravate an asthmatic child or adult. I can only attribute such a foolish idea to individuals that have smoked pot and lost brain function.

Jul. 22, 2012 at 12:15pmSleeping with someone and getting pregnant isn’t a “mistake” …. .it’s a CONSEQUENCE… and it’s pretty bad if the Vacationer in Chief doesn’t know the difference. Even worse if we are not teaching our children the difference……..
The problem is that he doesn’t believe in consequences… he believes everyone should be able to do just about what they want WITHOUT bearing the consequences.
UNLESS, of course, you are financially successful in this country, and THEN you SHOULD bear the consequences of that!!!!!!
Probably is some parallel there……. in neither case did you get there without the support of someone else…………………….maybe THAT was what his speech was supposed to be about………..

Jul. 19, 2012 at 7:27pmThe US Catholic Bishops backed the Democrat Party and even supported Obamacare after it was shown that abortion, death panels and birth control would be forced on the Roman Catholic Church. Even now the Catholic Church still supports Democrats and Obamacare. Catholic Priests who refuse to allow homosexual marriages in their churches will have their IRS tax exemption revoked, face fines, jail and sued out of existence. Catholic schools, universities and hospitals will be forced to close. Want to bet no Catholics dare come to the defense of their Church.

Jul. 19, 2012 at 7:16pmThese Progressive Judges will pay a big price in the next life. “the states had no standing in the lawsuit, because they had failed to prove they would suffer immediate harm once the rule is enacted.” Would he feel that way if the muslims brought suit? What kind of harm is he talking about? Certainly moral harm will happen once the rule is enacted. “failed to show that a religious exemption written into the rule wouldn’t apply to them.” Really? If they have insurance that they provide, then the mandate does apply to them. Some organizations own their own insurance companies.
