Another Photographer Sneakily Snaps a Couple’s Magic Moment — And This Time We Find Out Who the Couple Is

Last month, we brought you the intimate image captured by a roaming photographer in Washington, D.C., of an unidentified couple who seemed to have just gotten engaged. Although it was later revealed they were already engaged — only practicing their vows in the secluded Washington War Memorial and asking their identity not be revealed — it seems to have become a trend for photographers to snap engagements when they stumble upon them on these summer nights.

Patrick Lu is the latest of the them. According to Mashable, Lu was wandering around the capital building in Austin, Texas, when he saw the proposal from start to finish. He took photos and posted them on the Reddit in his effort to identify the couple.

The groom-to-be spotted the post via a friend:

“The thread found me through friends,” Bush tells Mashable. He’s active in the Austin tech meetup scene through a site called The Regulars. He’s also the co-founder of an on-demand ecommerce startup called Amplifier. “I’m not surprised it found me.”

Bush says the candid photo allowed the best of both worlds. “We experienced that magic on its own terms, with no thought about posing or anything. And, because the photographer did such an awesome job, we also have that precise moment and her beautiful reaction captured for safekeeping. It’s pretty priceless.”

As Mashable puts it, this is yet another “tale of serendipity for the Internet age.”

I generally consider the photography of events in my life by people I don’t know who happen to pass by weird, but this is one thing that I would want to be photographed. Its a great photo which will keep that memory fresh in their minds forever as they grow together as a couple.

Chicken-Fillets are a fine place to feed the youngsters. But, it would not appropriate for that magical “Will You Marry Me” moment. A more romantical scene that makes a women feel loved and does not cause the husband to wince every time the anniversary comes around or the wife describes the event to here girlfriends. Be a prince, not a piker.

      Propose in style and grace.

Those pictures are romantic and sweet. I’m glad they tracked down the couple because that special moment is now remembered through the photos. They will need to remember that love through the rocky seasons that challenge love and commitment in every marriage.

That photograph is beautiful, catching a wonderful moment in the lives of this young couple. Through it, we get to witness a great step in their lives.

It is unfortunate you are too cynical to appreciate it.

This is so boring these photos. Future bride thinks of love (sigh) but he is thinking of laundry, cooking and maid service. She should never equate sex with love. All women make that mistake.

I never did like the use of the word, “ALL”…you apply a broad paintbrush to own bias and mindset. It is you who has a problem. It is you who typed out the words that are on your heart and mind.

Why don’t photographers “sneakily snap” photos of the bad guys meeting at the wh and other locales and publish them? Hmmmm? Your real time photos might just save this country!

It seems a little creepy, these photographers just happen to be in an empty park taking pictures of an unsuspecting couple sharing their not so private moment. Give me break.

It happens… I’m a photographer, and sometimes, we do wander into picturesque parks in the dead of night to capture long exposures or star trails. A specific location can look completely different during the night, and the color shades, shapes, and silhouettes create beautiful images.

If I happened to see a proposal, I would photograph it and try to find the couple. Moreover, if I was being proposed to, and a random photographer happened to be nearby, I hope they would decide to capture the moment, then try to track me down.
