Palin Reveals on Facebook: ‘Fox Canceled All My’ Wednesday Night Appearances
Is something amiss between former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Fox News? On Wednesday, the 2008 vice-presidential nominee took to her Facebook page, where she told fans that the media outlet canceled all of her network appearances last night. While cancellations are anything but rare in the television industry — especially considering the fluid nature of news — this particular case is quite odd.

First and foremost, Wisconsin congressman and vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan delivered one of the most anticipated speeches at the Republican National Convention last night. Knowing that this was unfolding, it’s curious that Fox would choose not to bring Palin in for analysis. After all, she was the 2008 GOP vice-presidential candidate last election cycle and she delivered a convention speech that was widely revered.
All things considered, having Palin weigh in would have made logistical sense. But, for some reason, the network decided against it. In her Facebook post announcing that she wouldn’t be making any Wednesday appearances on Fox, Palin said that she was “sorry” for the decision.
“I’m sorry Fox canceled all my scheduled interviews tonight because I sure wanted to take the opportunity on the air to highlight Senator John McCain’s positive contributions to America, to honor him, and to reflect on what a biased media unfairly put him through four years ago tonight,” she wrote.
As noted in her opening sentence, Palin’s main focus in making the announcement was placed upon Sen. McCain, seeing as he was the 2008 presidential candidate and an individual for whom she has claimed to have deep respect.
She continued, writing, “Granted, our honored and esteemed war hero has gone through much more than the liberal media can ever do to him in their efforts to harm this patriot. I look forward to hearing his words to his fellow Americans tonight more than any of the other convention speeches.”
Here’s a screen shot of the Facebook status, below:
While Palin didn’t note any bad blood in Fox’s decision to cut her, the network’s choice was certainly odd, especially considering that the former governor has had a contract with the outlet since 2010 and is a frequent guest on its news and commentary programs. After being “liked” and shared by tens of thousands of people, Palin’s post spawned a response from Fox, which also adds to the intrique.
Executive vice president of programming, Bill Shine, sent Mediaite the following note, explaining why Palin was absent from Wednesday night’s coverage: “Our plans changed based on the fact that the RNC condensed the schedule of speeches from four nights to three. We look forward to having Governor Palin back as soon as we can.”
Not being one to waste an opportunity to nab an interview, CNN’s Piers Morgan tweeted Palin, writing, “If Fox don’t want you tonight @SarahPalinUSA - come on my show. Be happy to talk about @SenJohnMcCain with you.” That invitation, unfortunately for Morgan, didn’t pan out.

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 10:30amNot that it matters to those who can critically THINK for themselves, but — anyone notice that quite a few Dems are BAILING to distance themselves from their leader this go around?? — BOTH establishment parties need to get with the program and get the hell out of the way to let Americans do what Americans do best: — CREATE. Reverse engineer this thing and PRODUCE something of VALUE. Fair day’s wage for a fair day’s work, if one so chooses — but that means bringing such OPPORTUNITY back to the States.

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 10:22amWhat moderates don’t understand is that conservatives believe that at best a moderate Republican gets one term. Voting for McCain would have been a one-term proposition. It’s a hard choice between enabling a Republican who won’t further conservatism and letting the Democrat have four more years while conservatives find a better candidate who can actually effect change. I’m not saying Palin is a moderate by any means, but the moderates who already hate her and the conservatives who never liked McCain will reject her insistance on talking pro-McCain 4 years after his relevancy ended.

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 10:15amFox probably canceled her because they surveyed enough people like me that dive for the remote and hit the mute button whenever she comes on the screen. She has become increasingly irrelevant to the political process, and seldom offers anything of substance, usually lapsing into the same rants and predictable talking points. Having her on last night to comment on Ryan’s speech would have “let the air out the balloon”, so to speak. Better to have folks like the K-hammer weigh in.

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 10:14amJohn McCain should have had the decency to turn down the invitation for him to speak at the convention. He brings nothing to the table except his RINO act – and that act is old. Gov Sarah Palin, please do not go Jurassic on us by archeologically digging up and exhuming John McCain’s remains. Let it go now and focus on the job at hand. We need to blast Obama out of the WH and out of the Oval Office. We need to send Obama packing, back to Kenya where he has a flock of goats waiting for him to goatherd – his father’s legacy.

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 9:54amwhy is anyone angry or surprised? sarah palin was a 2008 issue. we are in 2012. no one wants to bring up the crap from the past. she was the downfall of 2008 and no one wants her to drag down 2012. she pissed off her boss when she did what she did in 2010. she’s lucky to have not been fired yet. she also called for a third party run against Akin. this does not bode well for the RNC. she’s too far right even for the right wing.

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 9:50amFOX doesn’t need her anymore. She helped build their audience and now they are doing what all corporations do: “Without warning they terminate the people they don’t need anymore.” This is why so many people dislike big corporations.
When I worked at some major businesses that exported American jobs they would:
1) Have the employee train a foreign worker.
2) Send the employee back to their country.
3) Thank the experienced worker for doing such a good job training the new worker.
4) Without notice, anywhere from one week to six months, the manager would walk up behind the worker and place a box on his/her desk. The manager would say “Your services are no longer needed, please clean out your desk and give me your security badge. The manager would then escort the long-time worker out of the building. Security was always notified when employees were terminated without notice just in case they lost it.
Corporation destroy peoples lives every day, without notice.

I like her and remember exactly where I was when she was chosen for VP pick. FOX and the Repubs have shafted a good person and will regret it.

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 9:42amAs a Palin supporter, I am hopeful the cancellation was due to her scheduled appearance tonight at the GOP Convention. However, knowing egos won’t allow this, I am convinced Fox is just another steam of MSM that is a disappointment. I’ve been watching the convention on BlazeTV but kept fox on for the interviews – the most important PALIN.

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 9:33amThis strikes me as a bit childish. While I understand Palin’s frustration, she needs to realize that this is not all about her. And she must have realized that her little tantrum is only going to give ammo to the MSM. Piers Morgan is a prime example of that.
Grow up, Sarah!

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 9:25amI have found several things about Fox lately that are troubling….have you noticed the types of people they are having as talking heads? contributors…not my cup of tea, engaging? I would say NOT (so i shut them off!) Even some of the people running things like when OReilly was gone/on vacation…ewww…so found i had free time to utilize the internet…I am not going to waste my time on tripe, i shut off the laim stream years ago. Fox is no different, their slide into a liberal bent news is not one i will follow…I really do not need any of them to get the news. I had been concerned that in 2008 in England, Ayles/wife had a fund raiser for obama…i have not had complete confidence in the network since. Nothing like giving a mixed message! And the coverage of the Repub Convention? I decided to watch the speeches on c-span instead…i dislike someone deciding for me who I get to watch give speeches! Nupe I decide!

Posted on August 30, 2012 at 12:08pmThe Fox left slide started AFTER Mudoch and his son got in hot water in England. I think the USA and England cut a deal with Murdoch – bring aboard a slew of CNN left rejects and other leftist hacks or this investigation will never end costing Murdoch a fortune and reputation. Plus, Murdoch probably did not want to see his son go to jail.
Between the black mailing of USA/UK investigators and the Saudi Prince owner who makes sure Fox says NOTHING about Muslims raping/killing Christians, I get my news from the Internet. Fox cannot be trusted although it is still better than CNN.
