Egyptian cleric Abd Al-Rahman recently went on Al-Nas television to explain that men are “instructed” to beat their wives under Islam as a last resort before divorce, partly to show her that she is beneath her husband.

“A good woman, even if beaten by her husband, puts her hand in his and says: ‘I will not rest until you are pleased with me.’ This is how the Prophet Muhammad taught his women to be,” Al-Rahman said on the television in a segment aired in August, according to a translation provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

“Islam instructs a man to beat his wife as a last resort before divorce, so that she will mend her ways, treat him with kindness and respect, and know that her husband has a higher status than her,” he said.

Al-Rahman continued: “I say to every husband: Do not rush to beat her whenever a problem arises. O servant of Allah, Allah said, ‘Admonish those of them on whose part you fear disobedience, refuse to share their beds, and beat them.’ One should not beat out of anger.”

The Egyptian cleric reminded his audience that the Prophet Muhammad beat one of his own wives, Aisha, in order to “discipline” her, not because he wanted to. In the same way, Al-Rahman explained, men must be disciplined in the manner in which they beat their wives.

“When Aisha thought ill of the Prophet Muhammad, believing that he did not treat her the same as his other wives, and that when he left her room he would go to another wife, she followed him and spied on him. Aisha said that when the prophet Muhammad found out about this, ‘he gave me a shove that was painful’… “The Prophet did this in order to discipline this woman.”

They can’t change, they passed a rule around 600 years ago that doesn’t allow the Muslim religion to be updated or any of the codes/tenants changed!

muslim MEN made up this false “religion” to control their women. They made it up, because they KNOW their women would never stay with them….or better yet….to protect themselves from being castrated while asleep!!!! islamic MEN are really very INSECURE about themselves. Can’t see how any woman could stand the horrible Stink from islamic men, long enough to try and reproduce…really, they smell terrible.

  How about OT Deut Chapter 22 verses 20-21 “But if the thing is true, and evidences of virginity are not found for the young woman, (21) Then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done a disgraceful thing in Israel, to play the harlot in her father’s house. So you shall put away the evil from among you.” This also applies to Christians because Jesus in NT Matthew Chapter 5 has said “I have not come to destroy the Law or the Prophet, I have come to fulfill”. Jesus made it clear that the Law shall be fulfilled in its entirety.

  Islam provides 3-step formula: If you fear that your wife is fooling around while you are out earning bread, (1) speak with her/reason with her, (2) if she persists, do not share bed with her, (3) if she still persists beat her lightly.   Just trying to reply to MAHBOOBKHAN, What Jesus did say in MATT5:17 was “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish but to fulfill them, for truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefor whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. He was clearly speaking about the Ten Commandments. But He also said that whoever is without sin may cast the first stone. No human is without sin. We all sin. Jesus changed the whole way that people were judged and ministered to. He and His teachings are the New Covenant that God made with His people. There was a time and a place for the brutality in the Old Testament but Jesus fulfilled all the Prophecies and the law while at the same time changed everything. He changed the whole world. If you pay attention to what He said and how he lived, you can see that He brought up the status of women and preached treating them as equals. There have been men who have been or are Christians that treat women poorly, doesn’t mean that they learned that from Jesus. There were old customs, secular laws and religious dogma that Jesus took issue with. Jesus was completely against any violence especially against women. But He is coming back to judge

In Dearborn Michigan,western Iraq shariah law has infected some courts and once precedent has been set that’s all they need to allow expansion of their laws here.American women do you want shariah law here? In the 70′s women worried about the glass ceiling,if they start in with shariah law here you’ll look fondly on the 70′s and the problems you had then.

  I will add the History of how the Muslims became so powerful and basically bought Dearborn, Michigan. DODGE MAIN in Hamtramck, Michigan. Dodge Main hired all Muslims in the mid 70′s at a time when they were laying off Americans and it was impossible for a American to be given a job there. This financed other family members of those Muslims to come over. BUT! Even though they wanted Hamtramck back then. Hamtramck was all Polish and stood there ground. Dearborn. Once a really unbelievable beautiful City was a Push Over for them. Only took less then 5 years to get over run. Now Hamtramck is the same. You have to see these places to believe it. You won’t need Glenn or anyone else. Just your own eyes to Wake you UP. I swear by God. You will not know you are in the United States. I have watched this spread. We MUST stand together and put SOLID LAWS in place to STOP Sharia, Stop any form of Language in talk, on signage, in education. Please Visit Dearborn and Hamtramck, Michigan if you can afford it. We did not stop at all but even from a moving care you could see it looked like some arab city. It was pitiful. I never saw so many hijabs in all my life. The signs are in arabic. Deuteronomy 25:11-12 If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, 12 you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity.

  Can you give any instances where a Christian clergyman or a rabbi has preached that this should be done within the last several hundred years?
  
  The assumption in Islam seems to be that women are all bad and men are all good and it’s for the man to decide whether a woman needs to be beaten. That is a barbaric attitude, but one that 1300 or 1400 years ago was likely popular amongst Arabs. Have Mslms not learned anything in the intervening years?

  Much was changed with the redemption of Christ. We are instead counseled to forgive and turn the other cheek. How long has it been since anyone heard a report of a Christian nation cutting off the hand of a citizen for any reason whatsoever? It’s been many centuries since such a barbaric penalty was inflicted by a civilized nation. Islam, on the other hand, continues to cut off the hands of their people for the smallest of offenses… and Muslims are beheaded every Friday in Mecca (Islam’s most holy site) for offenses that in the civilized world could only result in a prison sentence. Is there any comparison between one which has progressed to a humane principle and the other which has chosen to adamantly cling to the primitive, brutal, subhuman authority of the 7th century?

  Would probably be a good idea to do a bit more bible study,you might actually learn what words actually mean. Making a literal interpretation about a verse of scripture base on an English translation from the original Hebrew text has left you believing “cut off her hand” means exactly that,when it does not. The text refers not to the amputation of the hand but depilation or the shaving of the pubic **** which was a form of humiliation to women in that time and was a form of punishment under lex talionis or better known in it’s English translation as the “Law or Retaliation” or “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” which means let the punishment fit the crime but no more.
  
  However just as in Old Testament times as well as today,the interpretation of a given law can be strict with no room for taking into account a persons actions or intentions. The scribes and Pharisees were pretty good at carrying out the letter of the law and coming up with there own set of rules and regulations to appear as righteous judges they carried it out with no understanding.
  
  Jesus taught about this many time in various scriptures about the abuse and misuse of various Old Testament law. Matthew 5:17: “abolish.” translates in Greek to kataluo, literally “to loosen down.” overthrow and concerning law,to Invalidate. Jesus fulfilled the law and was the end of the Law by virtue of what He did on earth through his sacrifice on the cross,we are saved by faint in him not by Old

  As compared to the above, the Islamic punishment is: (1) advise her, (2) do not sleep with her, (3) beat her lightly, to prevent the dreadful resource to divorce.

  Old Testament obsolete stuff that is not ever used or carried out because Jews and Christians are able to evolve. Jesus changed a lot about the old bad laws but commanded that we keep the Commandments. Mohammed worshippers can’t evolve. They just don’t have the mental capacity to move past the local customs of 7th century Arabia. They prefer the old ignorance. There isn’t a Jew or Christian court that would stone a woman to death or cut of her hand or any of that ancient crap that Mohammed worshippers still favor.

This is just the sort of crap that I wished that Obama would stand up to a podium on one of their “holy days,” and remind us of. Can you imagine him reminding us that “the holy quran tells us that a man should beat his wife, and teach her that her place is beneath his feet…”

This is yet one more reason why the left is on the wrong side of history, and why they project all of the hate and disdain that they have for the dignity of the human race upon their enemies.

I have always felt that the reason the atheistic and carnal left embraces Muslims is because the religion is all about man’s works. You don’t need faith, just obediently follow the house rules. Such a fatalistic approach allows men to put their failings on god without having to take responsibility.

“It’s not my fault, it is as Allah will it.”

…And really that’s what this is about. Christianity judges the hearts of man, and finds no one righteous, none. It calls on people to hold themselves accountable, and to take responsibility for one’s thoughts, and deeds. This is the antithesis of liberalism.

I also think that deep down inside, liberals don’t control themselves well, and they hate not only their own freedom, they hate yours. The Muslim religion promises complete destruction of that freedom, which is attractive to them.

Kinda like a child who loves the idea of carefree chaos and irresponsibility, but after he’s enjoyed it for awhile, secretly seeks the order and bounderies his parents offer.

Perhaps liberals unable to grow up, or control themselves; deep down are seeking a strong paternalistic system to put order back in their lives?

  You are absolutely correct in your assessment of islam’s greatest religious flaw. It has zero grace. There is no “Golden Rule” anywhere in islam. That a muslim may practice the golden rule commends him for being truly moral. However, the koran specifically dictates fm Allah’s own mouth, that the muslim must kill to move islam forward, no matter the weakness of his conscience.
  
  In reality, islam is only slightly religious, enough to meet the basic human need to worship something bigger then him/herself. Islam is really a totalitarian political structure that governs EVERY facet of life.

  As someone who is agnostic and further left leaning than most on this site I can honestly say that I have no love for Islam whatsoever. Also, while I am not one of these people who demand that crosses come down and Christmas get cancelled, etc, I like a separation of church and state ~because~ I want it to stay very clear that sharia law (and whatever else is out there) never gets a foothold in our government.

Women are not allowed to go to school, drive or go anywhere without their husbands, fathers or brothers.   Sir, have you studied your own Bible OT Deuteronomy chapter 22 verses 17 to 21 wherein a non-virgin wife has to be stoned to death. If the evidence of virginity is not found she should be taken to the gate of the city and stoned to death, but how about if husband’s penis is not strong enough to penetrate through the seal? Think about it. Are you planning to run away from your religion and join Islam?

The true face of the religion of peace and love. If a man is a barbarian oaf then he gets to beat his wife or wives with the full approval and authority of Islam. Great for barbarian oafs I guess. Not so great for the women who have to live with them.

In my seven decades I’ve seen and met both men and women who need “discipline” because they were otherwise impossible to deal with. My solution was to have as little to do with them as possible.

Today’s young males in America are wimpy and have never known women not in politics; never know the lack of women CEO’s; never know women not in the workplace. But, they have known mom not teaching them passion and compassion while raised by baby-sitters, and they have known mom not being at home, and much of today’s young males blame mom for many many things. I’d say that the American moms of tomorrow will be wearing hijabs.

I will never understand how the Left can justify the opposing platforms of who and what they support. Can not one of them see advancing this hatred in Egypt doesn’t exactly mesh with their “War Against Women” schtick?

  The “War Against Women” schtick is just a lie for political reasons. I know, duh! But if OBlamo really cared about women, he would create an OBamaCare waiver for ALL women immediately. After all, his union buddies, that worked so hard to force this bill down our throats, are all exempt. Hundreds of companies that are OBama donors are all exempt. Why not women if he cares so much?

  I wonder if Al-Rahman is a guest speaker at the Democrats convention. If not he should be. If so, will he be giving demonstrations on how to beat your woman into submission. If he does he should use Nancy Pelosi, Bab’s Boxer, Maxine ‘Pantyshields’ Waters just to name a few candidates. They could bend over and he could stick it to them, he could teach his smacking techniques, and treat them the way they apparently enjoy being treated. Well, they’re so into this Islamic bull-stuff! Beside some of these old bags need some sense nocked into them. The demonstation would probably look like a Three Stooge comedy skit, each poking, punching, hitting, gouging one another with associated pratfalls. As such, If I were Al, I’d be careful though, I understand those old leftest bags can deliver a real mean kick or even a nasty blast of foul wind blowing him clean out of the stadium, being the asses they truly are.
