S.C. Democratic Party Chair Makes Crack About Nikki Haley & Hitler’s Mistress

The chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party on Wednesday tossed out a reference to Adolph Hitler’s longtime mistress Eva Braun when discussing S.C. Republican Gov. Nikki Haley, South Carolina newspaper The State reported.

Dick Harpootlian made the comment in reference to Haley holding a news briefing in a basement studio at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C. during the Democratic National Convention.

“She was down in the bunker a la Eva Braun,” Harpootlian said during a delegation breakfast, according to The State.

The newspaper reported Harpootlian delivered other one-liners, including saying Republicans dislike education funding because “an educated population would not elect a Nikki Haley” and of former S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford’s Argentina exploits: “Silly me, I thought he was just screwing us.”

The newspaper said that after Harpootlian made several cracks, former state Democratic Party Chairwoman Carol Fowler stepped up to the podium next to him and said, “They called me up here to save you from yourself…or to save the rest of us.”

Harpootlian’s name may be familiar to conservatives, as he is a regular contributor on Fox News. According to his website, he also appears on CNN, MSNBC and CNBC.

His remark comes just days after the chairman of the California Democratic Party compared the Republican campaign strategy to that of chief Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels. On Tuesday, a Kansas Democrat likened Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan to Hitler.

  The more democrats talk they continue to reveal their moral heart and soul and they all are practically functional atheists, regardless of the protestations, and as well in their worldview philosophy in 2012; they are the American National Socialist Workers Party of our time. Their cultural visceral hate toward Almighty God, Christians, Israel, conservatives, our God given rights as humans created in his own image, does parallel the societal cultural hate that those national socialist workers of that time had, as they rose to power and campaigned against their opponents 83 years ago. God’s Truth they reject, history they revise to further their party’s agenda, human life, young, elderly or infirm, to them is cheap and expendable and only government can grant rights and life and they are the determiners of who will actually have any rights or life. “Legion” and his friends are having real good time partying at this convention in Charlotte, NC.

  More of the Democrats War on Women. The democrats believe the woman’s place is in a bunker serving a man, and that woman aren’t smart enough to be governor of a state. A woman wasn’t smart enough to be their presidential nominee either, they got on the Obama bandwagon early to derail Hilary.   As a South Carilinian, I am ashamed and disgusted by the remarks made by Dick Harpootlian. If I was even tempted to vote Democratic (Which I’m not), crude and assinine comments such as this would turn me off immediately.
  
  Harpootlian got his a** handed to him twice in court when he tried to prove misconduct on Gov. Haley’s part. He is still smarting from those defeats and can’t let go. His only option, smear her. Another typical leftist response.

  I’d say most voters, of all persuations, realize most liberal politicians are liers, reprobates and/or nuts. If voters don’t they have to either be brain dead, stupid, uniformed or crazy . I will never understand the comparisons of anyone to Hitler or the Nazis. Neither party comes close to the politics or atrocities of that time, and hyperbole only shows that someone is stretching what little knowledge they have.

  I realize that equating a behavior like lying, even when you know you are lying, to Hitler is objectionable to individuals trying to draw attention away from the lie. But claiming the speaker is likening the person to Hilter, other than in the use of lies, is guilty of altering context. Romney and Ryan both know that their statements regarding Medicare cuts, Welfare to Work waivers and the auto plant closure are flat out lies. So one who knowingly fabricates and disseminates a lie to create a perception and/or action on the part of the recipient is dabbling in propaganda. Hence the reference to Hitler. So how’s about some truth about the lies themselves rather then the feigned outrage and objection to someone calling them what they are when they knowingly LIE. And everyone knows Romney is lying about his true income and tax payments. Romney / Ryan’s behavior must seem very Christian like to the truly devote here.

If we want to look at Hitler-esque propaganda, we need look no further than the Democrats jumping on the Sturmgewerh (assault rifle) bandwagon. The result of that successful campaign was the disarmament of the populous and the rise of the Nazis.

  Not trying to be a spelling nazi here, and certainly not when discussing Nazi weapons, but you got the last two letters in sturmgewehr transposed. Just something that jumped out at me when I read your post.
  
  That said, you are quite correct on the meat of your post. Given that the first mass-pro assault (sturm) rifle (gewehr) was a Nazi invention (the MP43/1 and StG44 family), there is a bit of White Guilt in their drive to ban them. Of course, the modern definition of an Assault Rifle is ‘any scary-looking rifle, regardless of mechanical function class’, so anything that is not a bolt-action weapon is theoretically part of this ban.

  Thanks for the edit. My German is weak. I think it is very ironic that if I held up a BAR Mk. II and an AR-15 with just heat shield (not even a rail system), most people on the left would call the AR an assault rifle and the BAR a hunting rifle. I guess black is just more menacing than wood.

  I’d love to have a BAR / BAR II, I am a major proponent of anything in .30-06. Also a major proponent of anything in .303 British (hard to tell, but my site pic here is an Enfield 4 Mark 1). Shooting twice is just silly.
  
  Still and all, the Lefties know to fear some wooden-furniture guns, though. Show them a pic of an AKM with full stock and wood forend, they’ll recoil in horror like a ghoul suddenly challenged by a cross, those that aren’t Che fans or anarchists, that is.

The fickle lefties seem to have a complex built around Hitler and National Socialists.

Oddly enough, I expect this. After all, Communists have a deep-seated hatred of Nazis, so to them facing off against Repubs is a rehash of World War Two. This also makes sense of the saying ‘forward’, given that Stalin put out the order ‘Not One Step Backward’.

One problem with the Lefty logic: they’re not facing Nazis, they are facing Americans. We won both sides of World War Two, not just part of one. Soviet Russia didn’t do much of anything notable in the Pac theater, except get their asses kicked by Japan before the red revolution. If the neo-Reds think they’ve got this one in the bag, they’re in for a very rough handling in coming months and years.

After all, Yamamoto knew that messin’ with Americans was a very dangerous ploy. The old quote ‘there shall be a gun behind every blade of grass’ was never said by Isoroku Yamamoto, but he did tell his bosses that they had one chance and roughly one month to hammer America flat, or they would awake the sleeping giant.

The Left has done the same think Hideki Tojo did. They have awoken the sleeping giant. There shall be a marked reduction in the Commies in government…
