Watch Live: Congressional Hearing on IRS Scandal
Live BlazeCast at 2pm ET: All the fireworks from the IRS Hearing!
Why Does Rush Limbaugh Think Dems Moving Prez’s DNC Speech Is One of the ‘Most Significant’ Obama Events?
On Wednesday, conservative talk radio show host Rush Limbaugh argued that the decision to move President Obama’s convention speech to a smaller indoor venue is a “huge thing,” and warned listeners not to “doubt” him.
“This is one of the most significant events involving Obama in the last 6 months,” Limbaugh said. “This is a huge thing. Do not doubt me.”
Limbaugh said he doesn’t believe that it really was the weather that prompted the Democratic National Convention to move Obama’s speech. That was just their cover, he said, quoting a local Charlotte weather man who also questioned the hasty move when there was only a 20 percent chance of rain.
“[I]t’s a simple question.. if you had a #Panthers game, Concert or Soccer match with a 20% chance of storms would you cancel 24hrs prior?” meteorologist Brad Panovich posted on Twitter.
“Severe threat is almost zero Thursday night & chance of rain is 20%,” Panovich wrote.
The radio host said the fact that Obama can’t fill Bank of America Stadium, which holds roughly 75,000 people, shows that people are not as excited this time around to hear the president’s message. Politico reports that Obama’s speech has been moved to Time Warner Cable Arena, which holds 50,000 fewer people than the stadium.
“[When] you have the ego that Obama has….You are used to filling auditoriums and you can’t fill them anymore. That’s big,” he added. “It is not new. He has been not filling arenas of 18,000 to 20,000 in Ohio and Iowa. This is just the latest.”
Limbaugh talked about the “reality” of Obama’s popularity versus the perception depicted in the media. He noted that Obama’s approval was at just 43 percent in a recent Gallup poll and added that people have been relentlessly mocking the president using Clint Eastwood’s “empty chair” reference from his speech at the Republican National Convention.
“I am telling you, when the crowds no longer show up… that’s a sobering day. That is a tough reality.” he said.

The Point is this, and it may not be anything, but do any of you Blaze heads not remember that the Obozo campaign had already been hedging to find a way to get out of leasing Panthers Stadium months ago. I sped read an article from a Charlotte Newspaper, I think, months ago or more that basically said the Obozo campaign had already decided not to do the speech at the 70K seat stadium. I think this was around the time that Obozo couldn’t fill up an eighth of the Ohio State Bball arena. Anyway if any of you Research folks remembers this article then please post link.

Posted on September 6, 2012 at 12:45amThis isn’t close. Democrats are jumping ship left and right. A local liberal radio host said that ALL of his liberal friends are ashamed that they voted for him and WILL NOT do it again. A lady called in and said that her dad and his friends had NEVER voted for a Republican and will this time. Close advisers to the president from 08 have jumped ship. They know him. They know it was a mistake to support him. IF HE WINS IT WILL ONLY BE BECAUSE OF MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD. Polls are under sampling Republicans by 10-12%. He is WAY behind. You can’t be as incompetent as he is and win a second term He’s not even smart enough to tell a plausible lie. He lies about things so ridicules that even the liberal media is shocked and can’t in good conscience let it go. We have reached a point where only absolute morons still support him.

Nothing that was said yesterday OR today in Charlotte was meaningful to me. Usually there is something, but nothing… it’s all lies, it’s all convoluted, distorted sayings…. HERE IS THE BIGGEST LIE: That GOP did not want to COOperate. Yeah, right…that’s why PAUL RYAN wrote 3 budgets and got them voted on …whereas no DEM would even vote for Obama’s budget. Look at yourself and Dora for any explanations. She has had 2 abortions due to inconvenience, and you are a dolt. You align with socialism, statism, racism, dependancy on fed daddy, and on and on. Many peeps here are tired and weary-there are no longer any approachable democrats. It may soon be time to take off the gloves; maybe just do a la carte taxes and watch your special interests fade. How do you reconcile cair and lgblt under one tent? I for one am tired and sickened by your ilk-there is little common ground. Polarized doesn’t come close as a description. While your dependancy and lack of individual worth sadden me, your want for more of my worth does not confront me. There appears to be a tipping point in the near future- press on, let’s get it over with and get back to decency. How does that strike you pissant?

You do realize you just reinforced my question right? I was being (a little too) sarcastic towards 2minutes, and of course you come back with pissant, dolt, and later on POS. Oh and by the way, you have no clue what I aligin myself with, as I don’t know what you align yourself with. To call someone a Marxist, socialist, blah blah blah, really doesnt move the discussion forward. Everytime someone on here questions or comments someway they don’t like, the childish name calling, busts out. You’re not 12 are you? Though, that wouldn’t be surprising.
Dora actually made a legit comment. The Congressional Repubs ran in 2010 on Jobs, Jobs, Jobs….i even voted in AZ for Republicans cause i wanted a change. All they have done is block bills, not created 1 job, tried to repeal something 33x, and tried to outlaw womens freedom to choose the best course for their health. Not to mention all the voter ID stuff going on. Sneeky, and underhanded IMO.
You asked how I square myself with cair and lgbt under one tent? I don’t subscribe to that tent, but I’d imagine they square it by being TOLERANT of other views, not ignorant. How do you square yourself with…oh who am i kidding, you probably ate up the platform didn’t you. I don’t understand how a party, so hell bent on bringing God back to the country (by th way, where’d he go, i see churches on every other corner) can’t themselves live by the same love and acceptance that they preach. Sorry i may have rambled…

Posted on September 5, 2012 at 5:43pmI invite you and all other responsible American citizens to join me in boycotting said liberal media. I have been boycotting them for the majority of the 21st century. I saw what they were doing to Dubya during the ’04 elections, and I decided enough was enough. It was a very unpopular position to point the finger at the media during Dubya’s second term, but I held my ground and continue to do so. The deceivers in the media have only gotten bolder and more reckless since then, and I keep wondering just how much BS Americans are going to put up with before I am joined by enough viewers to make them take notice.
They know their numbers are down, but they write it off with all kinds of excuses. They know that Fox News was kicking their butts in ratings for the past several years, but they still refuse to get the message. Instead of righting their listing ship, they only direct their guns across the Fox’s bow. Sadly, Fox News have been the ones doing all the compromising. The lefty outlets are steadfast in their mission to promote the leftist agenda.
Occasionally, I see a glimmer of hope. Like CNN, who were once the worst of the lot, have recently shown at least a few “scattered showers of journalism.”*
I don’t know what else to do about it, so the boycott continues, and so does my call to others to do the same.
* “Scattered showers of journalism” is a brilliant quote from Pat & Stu a couple of years ago.

It will be a MASSIVE embarrassment and take any remaining wind out of the Obama platform if he speaks on the national stage to accept his nomination in a stadium for 77,000 that will only be filled with maybe 20,000 so…………
You move to a smaller event and crowd everyone in, no Greek Columns, no huge elaborate stagecraft, just a very real coming of sober reality that the “Chosen one” is not what he pretended to be and he isn’t winning a 2nd term and the age of the DNC empire is coming to a close.

Posted on September 5, 2012 at 4:42pmWhen Obama loses in November, those next two and a half months are going to be interesting. A narcissist finding out his friends don’t like him anymore will be a hard thing for him to take.

Posted on September 5, 2012 at 4:52pmHis advisers and “friends” will all be running and whispering in Hillary’s ear, they will run as far and as fast from Obama as possible, once they move over to the HIllary camp, which they will, watch how the MSM suddenly starts uncovering all this “missing” dirt and information about Obama, MSNBC will look like its trying to complete with GBTV on revealing all of the dirty truthful facts on Obama.
They put Hillary under the bus in 2008, they will put Obama under the bus in 2013 and will run the bus back and forth over him for months, I’d put money on it !

Posted on September 6, 2012 at 6:12pmNot only that, but how many Executive Orders will he be producing in that time, just to mess things up even more for Romney/Ryan? Like they won’t be busy enough trying to fix what he’s already done.

Posted on September 5, 2012 at 4:42pmBullseye. Rush is EXACTLY right. Weather is an excuse. They moved it because
they’re realizing they cant fill the stadium and the OPTICS of that would be devastating
on worldwide TV.
Now translate that to Nov 6 and I like Dick Morris’ predictions of GOP landslide.

Posted on September 5, 2012 at 8:14pmNo links needed, MSNnbc on my laptop ran the story yesterday that the social security office purchased 177,000 rounds of 9mm hollow points.
It’s for the impending financial crisis for the government. When they can’t pay social security recipents there will be hell to pay.
Never get between a Seniro Citizen and their promise by the government to be there for them.
After decades of serving their country and supporting their liberal democrats the seniors will soon feel the true impact of kicking it “down the road” by the liberals who have stolen so much from the social security fund it is no longer sustainable.
16 trillion in debt, sooner or later we have to pay our debt holders, the Japanese and the Chinese.

Just a hypothetical…fun with data you know.
Anyways, look at the ratio of takers to producers. You think that is going to get better? Who procreates more takers or producers?
