Wild Video Captures Family Being Tossed Violently During Boat Ride (That Ended in Hospital Visit)
All seven passengers in a speedboat on the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri last Friday were injured after their vessel hit a large wake.
The camera facing inward from the bow of the boat captures footage of the family jolting with the wake at first, holding on for stability. They are then hit even harder and sunglasses are sent flying and bodies stumbling.

Posted on September 6, 2012 at 4:47pmHere’s a great idea: Let’s get a boat with a bazillion horsepower, turn the camera on some hot chicks in itsy bitsy bikinis, and put the hammer down to impress the heck out of them! Might get lucky ’cause they’ll be so turned on!
Maybe that’s how people in the Ozarks lose most their teeth.
The bikini part is good, though.

Posted on September 6, 2012 at 2:13pmSo the really funny thing is the fact that the news got the footage. If I did something that DUMB there’s no way I’d put that footage anywhere except in the fire!

Posted on September 5, 2012 at 5:50pmLiving on a group of islands, this is something that many kiwis know about.
Look ahead, plan ahead.
If it looks a bit dodgy, for God’s sake slow down. Drop off the plane, if necessary. Hitting a lump of water at high speed can be like hitting concrete.
Oh, and the master of a vessel has a duty of care…

Posted on September 5, 2012 at 5:40pmTypical summer fun at Lake of the Ozarks. All boaters must finish a 64oz beer bong before boarding any water vessel there.

Posted on September 5, 2012 at 5:25pmSo many people think they know everything there is to know, and then they find out they don’t know squat. Seeing things like that always remind me of McCandless whom disappeared into Alaska thinking he would just live off the land, and they found him dead some months later in an old bus – written in the book “Into the Wild.”

Posted on September 5, 2012 at 5:15pmIf one of the male Blaze writers had covered the story it would read,” Bouncing Blond Babes in Bikinis!!” I’m glad Liz covered it.
Also, that was really scary. They are lucky to be alive!!

Posted on September 5, 2012 at 5:16pmIf the driver of the boat had any sense, that none was shown,, POWER DOWN! and TURN INTO THE MASSIVE WAKE! don’t try to jump it!!!! Idiot. People were not secured, no life vests,, and most important the operator clearly was not in controll of the vessel. How much acohol was involved?

Posted on September 5, 2012 at 5:21pmActually watch their knees, they act as shocks on the initial wake. Had they been sitting they likely would have been tossed straight up from the boat at high speed with out a LIFE JACKET.
This cigar boat was easily doing 50mph. Sitting would leave bruises on your tail bone even with the comfiest of seats and no cross wakes to contend with.
And the guy isn’t falling in the video, it’s an optical illusion because the camera is fixed to the boat. The boat came up to meet him faster than his body was affected by gravity. It’s why it looks like he falls stiff as a board… he didn’t fall, the boat rose. Owe.
