Reacting to former president Bill Clinton’s nomination speech at the Democratic National Convention Wednesday, Fox News contributor and syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said the address was “sprawling, undisciplined and truly self-indulgent” and would not help President Obama’s re-election chances.
“I think it was a giant swing and a miss,” Krauthammer said of the speech. “I don’t think it will move the needle whatsoever.
“It was engaging it was humorous, in some cases it was generous — I think there were more mentions of the Bushs than I heard in three days in Tampa,” he added. “It was also vintage Clinton in that it was sprawling, undisciplined and truly self-indulgent.”
Krauthammer went on to call Clinton’s DNC address “one of the strangest nomination speeches” even given.
“It was kind of an amalgam between the state of the union address, a policy wonk seminar and what sounded to me like a campaign speech for a third Clinton term — Obama was sort of incidental, he would be shoved in every once in a while,” he said.
“It is true that he made a lot of detailed rebuttals, that he is sort of the rebuttler-in-chief…but Paul Ryan can handle all of that in 10 minutes in his debate,” he concluded.

Sep. 6, 2012 at 2:54amThank God there was football tonight, so I didn’t have to watch the entire charade. Elizabeth Warren and Bill Clinton…what a pair. For you morons that still support Obama; Clinton sucked (housing bubble, selling high tech computer secrets to the Chinese, impeachment, et al.) At least he worked with Congress to fix a few things, so he wasn’t all bad. Bush was adequate, especially right after 9/11, which all of you a-holes convienently forget. It must be strange to live on a planet where the world trade center attack vanishes into thin air. Obama is intentionally destroying The United States of America. Anyone that can’t see that is stupid. Anyone that can see it and still votes for Obama is treasonous. My brother is so blinded by bitterness and jealousy of the rich that he says let it fall. Treasonous. I don’t know how Romney will do. The world is a complicated and dangerous place. Paul Ryan will help, but Romney will have to do the heavy lifting. I’d rather be shot in the head than vote for Obama. I hate him. I earned that right with 20 years as a combat flyer. I fought to save the U.S. not see it transformed into a second rate socialist country in decline. My kids and grandkids deserve better. Please stop with the immature hate the rich crap. Get out and make some money if you can. In the mean time help save this country. Appeal to your better self and think of someone else instead of your own petty wants.

Yes, he has the same hate for this county that Bill Ares, Rev. Write and his other “friends” have. I have felt this since before he was elected. This boy who would be man has been on a life long mission. He is a full blown self important narcissist. And his is doing to America what he thinks America needs…bring us down. He has seen America through the eyes of those who hated America. His perceptions were formed by those close influences. And his so call struggle as a young black kid were driving around stoned with his collage friends. He has used everyone around him. I see NO heart or compassion only a lust for power and control and influence. This kid is not full of a love for anyone but himself. And he lives inside his own self-important world. There is no one in there. He is damaged goods. No heart or soul just lust for power.

We own our home, we have investments that should get us through our last years, and we are both professionals in fields where we plan to volunteer our time and apply our skills to help those who need some assistance. I have worked as a small business owner, in state government, higher education, and the non-profit sector. I understand the challenges of just about every sector of the economy. What is happening today with the Obama administration is extremely alarming and if allowed to continue another four years unabated may be the eventual undoing of the greatest country the world has ever seen. I pray that our nation will gain some wisdom and find its way out of the darkness.

Sep. 6, 2012 at 2:15amI, too, have been saying this for years. It drives me crazy that Clinton got all the credit for reaping the benefits from Reagan/Bush, and none of the blame for all the horrible things he did to set us up for what we are currently experiencing. I have worked in radio for 18 years, so I was there when Clinton was playing crony capitalist with his little buddy David Geffen.
You guys out there who hate what has become of FM radio, you can thank Bill and Dave for it. Their little backroom deals are what got the FCC de-regulated, which made it possible for ClearChannel et al. to buy up all the radio station and go cookie-cutter. And the reason they did it had NOTHING to do with radio – it was all about making BANK on cellphone towers, which they did.
Of course, that is merely the tip of the iceberg when you’re talking about all the harm done by Clinton. If he weren’t such a sorry excuse for a Commander-in-Chief, there would have been no 9/11. If he weren’t such a meddling socialist, there would have been no housing bubble. If he weren’t such a disgrace of a human being, cheating on the First Lady in the Oval Office with an intern and a cigar, then flat-out lying to the world about it and twisting words like a weasel, then maybe the Presidential Seal might still have had a shred of credibility before Barack Obama came along.

that makes no sense to you? are you that blind? Regan in his first term put forward(sucessfully i might add) a plan to boost the economy, shrink government, and get spending in control, and promoting peace through strength. that plan started coming into stronger fruition year 2 of Bush I administration. by the time clinton took office we had a strong America moving forward with prosperity.
clinton did his best in the first term to undermine everything Regan/Bush did, and almost suceeded. incidently we started sliding into a recession. year 2 and the Repulicans took majority, and put a stop to all(92% of it anyways) of cliton’s grand plans. Bush II comes into office with a balanced budget as a result. he starts following Regan’s playbook to a T, then 9/11 happened and it changed everything. 2 years into his second term the dems took control of congress and started slowly(at first) unraveling all the progress made. dodd, frank(who should have been thrown out due to a conflict of interest as he was **** buddies with the president of fanne mae) pelosi, acorn, abnd the naacp all put pressure on banks to lower their standards to get a morgage. franks, dodd, and pelosi squashed any and all attempts at regulating fannie/freddie mac whis Bush II was trying and warning needed to be done. that’s the mess obummer inherited, a mess created by HIS PARTY. insteading of owning it HIS PARTY put all of the blame on Bush II, and started spendind like a drunk sailor on shore

but then we already knew that, based on all the other tawdry facts
of Clinton’s classless life.
Windbag Bill Clinton can grab every stage,
however, he can NOT grace any stage,
he will always be a liar, cheater, rapist & sexual predator…a human slimebag.
He comes out to praise a man whom he called an “amateur”,
a man, he called a “race baiter”,
a man who threw a monkey wrench
into his wife’s “win”-
but most of all, a man who has severely damaged our country-
her honor & her history !
So the big question is-
why would Clinton,
who professes to love America & her reason for being
falsely champion another who obviously doesn’t ?
It still comes down to one word…Hillary !
You scratch my political back & I’ll scratch yours-
no matter how much they despise each other.
Show Clinton nobody cares what he thinks
and show Obama, nothing & NO one can save his FAILED presidency.
America doesn’t want a lecherous, past president
convince us that we need to continue on with a communist leech-
America NEEDS a LEADER !

Sep. 6, 2012 at 1:18amCharles Krauthammer has had a long career as a political commentator. He is deeply respected for his knowledge and scholarship. People don’t always agree with him but intelligent people attempt to refute instead of ridicule his views. In almost every political post, there are drive by insulters who merely make Democrats and those who support them look awful.

Sep. 6, 2012 at 1:52am@DOra Glasberg:
Charles use to talk very highly of Obama on FOX News. I use to get upset with him, because he had drank Obama kool aid. He talked about what a genius Obama was and what a great orator he was. He had stars in his eyes, thinking that Obama may be really great for the Country. I was really upset with him because I knew that Obama was just a low rate commie dictator wanna be. He has had to eat his words since then, and he has changed his mind. He has seen that 4 years of Obama has been very bad for our Country. If Obama gets another, unfettered by fear of not being reelected, 4 years as President, this Country is going to be in a whole lot worse trouble. By the time he is done, if reelected, you will rue the day you voted for him. You need to wake up, as Charles has, and stop letting your emotional attachment to Obama rule over your common sense. Don’t let this bad relationship ruin the rest of your life. Get a hold of the fact that Obama spells d-i-s-a-s-t-e-r.
