Under God or Gov’t? Would Lincoln Have Been Booed at DNC? Beck Poses Powerful Questions
“Do not ignore the warning signs.”
That was Glenn Beck’s message on TheBlaze TV on Wednesday. Specifically, he pointed to governments putting themselves in the “role of God” and what results. “It’s not pretty.”
One warning sign he believes is quite clear is a video the Democrats played on screen on Tuesday night that said we “belong” to government.
“Is this the America you grew up knowing?” he asked. “When you imagine the future, is this the America you imagine is going to be better? One where you are property of the government.”
He of course then gave a little lesson on the Constitution and “we the people” owning the government, not the other way around. He also wondered if Abraham Lincoln would have been booed at the DNC. Watch it below:
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Posted on September 6, 2012 at 12:22pmYes, Glenn. Democrats want everybody to be the property of the government. And to eliminate private property. And get rid of all religions except Islam. And cede sovereignty to the UN. And, worst of all, give Americans access to health care.
Yes, that’s the vision of the liberals. Thank goodness there is somebody like Glenn to give us the TRUTH.

All you have to do is GET ON YOUR KNEES and bow to the Evil… or the “better” Evil.

Posted on September 6, 2012 at 3:49pmYea, those Christians are something. Perhaps they can start doing something constructive to the world like threatening annihilation of a nation and destruction of everyone on earth who is not Christian. After they do that Christians will ask members of the congregation to wear bomb vests and go around America blowing the hell out of every Tom, Dick and Harry. After that perhaps the Democrats will accept Christians as they have accepted Islam.

Posted on September 6, 2012 at 4:09pmWhat a silly statement you’ve made. The audience was NOT “booing Christ’s golden rule”. They were booing the simplicity of Ron Paul’s foreign policy notion that implied that attacks on the USA by al Qaeda are just retribution for what we’ve done to them. It’s a moronic assumption that the only reason we have problems in the world is because the big bad USA has caused the issues–so Ron Paul’s statement was just part of the “blame America first” mentality. THAT is what was being booed, certainly not the “Golden rule”

The audience was NOT booing Christ’s “Golden Rule” but rather the implication of Paul’s half-baked foreign policy concept that is nothing more, and nothing less, than a spin of the “Blame America First” mantra of the left.
If Paul had a serious, intelligent Foreign Policy, he EASILY would have won the nomination. But he doesn’t have one, and he lost the nomination–and RIGHTLY SO

Posted on September 6, 2012 at 9:41amI am by no means a fan of Lincoln. The current Republican party (as well as the Democrat party) has followed in his footsteps on the suspension of our Habeas Corpus rights and civil liberties under the guise of war. While the outcome of the civil war was the moral and right outcome, the civil war was about state secession over slavery. Revisionists always seem to leave out the key ingredient of secession when they talk about Lincoln and the civil war. Had the south not threatened to secede maybe the end of slavery could have been done through peaceful means and without the suspension of civil liberties.
In the end, once on the ballot, the Democrats and Republicans would vote for a dead dog if it were running under their party label. The current day democrats are now socialist/communists and the republican party is now the old democratic party and progressive enablers. JFK could have run on today’s republican ticket with his platform of cutting taxes, continued government and military spending. He didn’t believe in cutting taxes for the sake of cutting taxes, he knew that lower taxes = more government revenue = more government spending. The true conservative, limited government republican who adheres to our founding principles has long been gone. Most of today’s “conservative” candidates give lip service to the word. Just look at the R/R ticket and their voting records… big government and big spending but they sure are telling you a different line of today.

Posted on September 6, 2012 at 9:16amI’m pretty sure that if we could somehow time travel and bring President Lincoln to the present and deposit him on the floor of the DNC, within 5 minutes of his arrival he would be acting more like Hollywood’s vampire slayer than like the wise unifier who delivered the Gettysburg Address. Honorable American men of the 19th century did not suffer fools like the modern democrat gladly. And Lincoln was, if nothing else, a man of action. Capitulation was not in his repertoire. Though I am sure that the first couple of minutes would be spent trying to reason with them, after he got shouted down by the hate-filled, venom-and-spittle-spewing zombies on all sides, he would find the nearest fire-axe and start swinging for the fences – for the good of The Republic.

Posted on September 6, 2012 at 9:59amWe still have a large number of registered Democrats in our state. It went back to the Civil War and then the Reconstruction period. Republican may as well have been a four letter word (probably is to Biden) here. But, when the Democrat Party began it’s metamorphosis into the liberal quagmire it has become, our southern Democrats went for more and more Republicans in national elections. Back in the ’80s we got our first Republican governor ever in our history. That went back and forth every four to eight years though. Our last Democrat governor is at the DNC now. He has been temporarily furloughed from Federal Prison and plans to ask 0bama for a full pardon. Then he is report back to the prison. Don Siegelman was not attacked by local Republicans, he was charged by the federal government with several counts of conspiracy under the RICO Act. One of his fellow conspirators is Richard Scrushy, who all around here joke about being Siegelman’s cell mate. Anyway, I guess most will never change owing to the history here. But, many young voters are registering as Republicans. Back in ’71 when I registered I wish I had. Not to worry, I registered as an Independent, and have never voted for a Democrat ever. I have since re-registered as a Republican, but only because there is no true Conservative Party.

Posted on September 6, 2012 at 9:01amThis subject wouldn’t need to be broached, if it weren’t for the fact that large numbers of citizens don’t know the difference between independence and slavery.
The Constitution, and specifically the Bill of Rights, enumerate the freedoms one is BORN with along with their responsibility, and LIMITS the role of government in our daily lives.
The REASON why government is so entrenched and so emboldened to make such dangerous statements such as “you BELONG to government” is because the ignorant get too wrapped up in sound bites and/or are too lazy to research what we Conservatives espouse. They find it much easier to contradict what we say and warn about than to face facts which contradict what they hear or, unfortunately, have been taught. They find it easier to “belong” with a mob than to belong with a group castigated by the mob, even when the mob is obviously wrong.
Call it the “deer in the headlights” equivalent to reasoned thought and expression.

And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race.”

I am not a No-Knothing, that is certain. How could I be? How can anyone who abhors the oppression of negroes be in favor of degrading classes of white people? Our progress in degeneracy appears to be pretty rapid. As a nation we began by declaring “All men are created equal”. We now practically read it, “All men are created equal except negroes.”, When the No- nothings get control it will read, “All men are created equal except negroes, foreigners and Catholics.” When it comes to this I shall prefer emigrating to some country they make no pretense of loving liberty.

Posted on September 6, 2012 at 12:30pmDismayed Vet,
I dispute your assumptions about the union army. If you puts facts before fantasy you’ll quickly discover the ranks were filled with volunteers who felt it their person obligation to combat the nation treason being perpetuated by the south’s succession. My great (x2) grandfather William Case, joined the Michigan militia, 21st regiment Co. K. in Aug of 1862. He left his farm, his wife and two sons. ultimately engaging in the “march to the sea” as one of “Sherman bummers” bringing the Civil war to it’s end.
Perhaps back then when history was not so varnished he understood this nation was worth fighting for. That a debt was owed to his forefathers and what they had done as Americans before him.
Perhaps he looked to our oldest know relative, Edward Doty, (1599) signer of the Mayflower compact (1620) setting forth a governance pact, the likes of which the world had never known. As well as creating the only place on earth men were to free to address God as they saw fit.
President Lincolns emancipation order was a war tactic against the south to impede it’s ability to produce materials The order was issued Jan 1 1863. My Family didn’t simply jump into a meat grinder at the urging of a POTU. They did so because it was both the difficult and the right thing to do at the time.
