D’Souza’s Anti-Obama Doc Surpasses 3 Michael Moore Films at the Box Office

"2016: Obama's America" has topped three Michael Moore films at the box office, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Conservative author Dinesh D’Souza’s “2016: Obama’s America” has surpassed three Michael Moore films at the box office, making it the second-highest-grossing political documentary, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Deadline reported that as of Saturday, “2016″ had grossed $26.2 million, beating out Moore’s “Sicko” ($24.5 million), the Oscar-winning “Bowling for Columbine ($21.5 million) and “Capitalism: A Love Story” ($14.3 million). It also topped Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” ($24.1 million). The numbers are not adjusted for inflation or higher ticket prices.

Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11,” sharply critical of President George W. Bush, still holds the No. 1 spot at $119.1 million.

D’Souza told TheBlaze last month that the liberal filmmaker served as an inspiration of sorts in the making of “2016.”

“Michael Moore made ‘Fahrenheit 9/11′ and he dropped it in the middle of the national debate,” D’Souza said. “The conditions look very similar, except we have a Democratic president, Obama, very controversial.”

Deadline noted that “2016″ has been doing well in several hotly-contested battleground states, including Florida, Ohio, Colorado and Virginia. California, New York and Texas are also among the top states contributing to the film’s box office success.

  @MADEMYDAY, while I am open to the possibility you’re right, I believe the more important point is Barry thinks Barack senior is his dad. He took up his presumed father’s banner and had taken it into war against the United States as an institution. Both Barack senior and FDM were solid communists, so in fact the question of influence is partly moot. There is no doubt that both have had a great influence and both a greatly negative influence in his attitudes toward the USA, or more specifically the attitudes toward individualism and it’s manifestation: capitalism.

I watched this with relatives and Dinesh brought some of them to tears because the unimaginable truth hit them so hard (some were democrats – no longer voting for Obama) He does a long Q&A session as well.   I saw it twice. The first time with my neighbor and my 16 year old son. The very next day I took my husband with me. We all enjoyed it and full of information about Obama’s past and what the next 4 years would look like if he gets re-elected….I hope and pray that more people are going to see it.   I agree .. I saw the movie at the first showing on the first day in my area .. 11 am and the theater was packed … it lays out the TRUTH very well .. and considering the MSM tried to ignore it … amazing box office … If you haven’t seen it go … and take a friend or two who may be sitting on the fence regarding the election. The ending showing where Obama wants to take us is POWERFUL.

  @jeanne2010, great video, it reminds me of one of my missions and that is to remind all law enforcement and military, anyone for that matter to remember the oath they took to uphold and defend the US Constitution. His talk of the journalists cree is similar in that the media has a responsibility to uphold their professionalism and be as neutral and honest as possible. MSNBC “forward” motto says it all they are virtually campaigning for Obama. Chase bank has the “forward” motto as well very disturbing……

  Stumbled upon more interesting socialist history: According to newenglishreview.org, Saul Alinsky (you remember, the “Rules for Radicals” author) considered Frank Nitti as his mentor, calling him “the Professor”. If you don’t know your early 20th century Chicago history, Frank Nitti was know as “The Enforcer”. This is not an “anti Obama” film, it just shows who he is. Most of the film comes straight from Obama’s mouth and it scares the hell out of you. Please see this film, if you can not, Amazon has the book “Obama’s America” unmaking the American dream. It is the same as the movie , with a little more detail .It came out about 3 weeks ago, by the same author Dinesh D’ Souza. Please see the film or read the book, if you buy the book pass it on!!

  Our neighborhood theater had tickets that were less expensive ($6 & $7) compared to the larger theater down in Altamonte Springs, FL which had their tickets for $8.50 and 11.50. We chose our neighborhood theater so we could take our boys (3) with us. I don’t think inflation makes a difference here.

News flash for Mr. Obama, We are not going to give you a medal just because you had shown up for the race. We do not have a guilt problem over the fact your mama was a problem child and made bad choices over and over again. We are not like your grand parents and feel sorry for you that they had to raise a child that was a product of a screwed up adult. No sir, we are not in love with you. We are not going to give you a pass, or pat you on the head and say everything will be alright you did your best and that is all that matters.

Michael Moores film was also avalible in more theaters. I am going to drive 60 miles one way to see this film. I wonder how far people had to drive to see moores file?

  The movie finally came to my area this past Thursday. I’ll have to see which day this week I’m underemployed, so that I can get the early bird ticket price.

That’s good to see the truth about the Marxist maggot in chief coming out front and center since the so called ‘media’ didn’t expose the POS fraud in 08.There’s no excuse you don’t know what the POS fraud is all about although the last three and a half years proves his agenda anyhow.

I’ve seen the film. It’s worth watching. Thank to Beck, Jones, Brietbart, drudge, badblue(dot)com and many others, much of what was in the film I already knew.
