Florida Businessman Scott Van Duzer Give President Obama an Elevated Bear Hug

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (TheBlaze/AP) — If President Barack Obama was looking for a lift in Florida, he got one from Scott Van Duzer.

The 46-year-old, six-foot-three Republican gave Obama a bear hug, raising him off the ground as Obama marveled at the man’s strength — and enthusiasm.

Van Duzer owns the Big Apple Pizza and Pasta Italian Restaurant where Obama stopped on Sunday during a Florida bus swing. He also runs a foundation that helps collect blood for the ill; he has received White House commendations for his work.

As he entered, Obama admired Van Duzer’s biceps, saying “Look at these guns!”

Said Obama: “The guy’s just got a big heart, along with big pecs.”

Of his embrace, Van Duzer said: “I was overwhelmed when I saw him.”

Should they all be condemned for a momentary lapses of judgement as an American loyalist patriot I say yes condemn him for supporting Obama, but as a Christian I say no forgive him for his ignorance.   This small business owner has been “duped” by the charisma of a president who promises much and delivers little. He’ll get a small bump in his gross receipts over the next few weeks as people come in to eat where the president ate. In the end, he will be bitterly disappointed and embarassed that he so openly endorsed Mr. Obama. The only reason this is a story is because he self identifies as a Republican who is voting for Obama. So, he’s the One.

  I cannot say that Obama is the Anti-Christ but he is anti-christian. As far as judging someone leave that to God , I do not know their personal relationship with Christ. God does not send anyone to hell they choose to go there by refusing the free gift of salvation that Christ gave us. Who we vote for is our own choice that is what is so great about being American, just because I am a Conservative Christian and will not vote for someone that is pro-choice or pro-homosexual does not mean that someone cannot vote for that person , that is their choice. My family has defended this Nation with blood on the battle field and defended the rights of all. God is in control, we do not always get what we need but what we deserve as a Nation. Romney and Obama are basically the same, telling the voters what they want to hear and then forgetting what they say once elected.   The judgement is reserved with Christ as Judge. Too many judge others and Christ said that we would be judged as we judge others. Do not judge and you will not be judged. However you judge others, that same standard will be applied to you at the judgement. All will answer to God, and life is too short to condemn and in the end be condemned by your own standards. Our own life is supposed to be an example of good and kindness to others if we are truly Christian. Even the grossly wrong are not to be condemned by us. We are not supposed to have fellowship with them, but be apart from them and hope that they see our life as an example for change. Wide is the way that leads to destruction and many go in.

  It just goes to show neither being a Christian nor a Republican is proof of having a brain. This man’s “goodness,” in life (although Jesus said their is not one who is good, except for our Heavenly Father) can only be evident from whatever fruits or actions he has demonstrated. They are perhaps many. His statement that he will vote for Obama merely shows his ignorance and his ability to be swayed by the presence of celebrity.   @ christos … Actually Jesus admonished and charged his disciples to go out and do everything he had done and more. The book of James says Faith without works is dead. So there are at least 2 – 1 against the saying of Paul. If you are a Paulist, admit it, but don’t call yourself christian if you cannot follow the teaching of Jesus, who was the Anointed One. This does look fishy. Biden and Obama trying to look like they’re “in touch” with the common people. Biden “hanging” with some bikers (funny photo) and “locking lips” with his mom. Obama comes across a Republican (really?) who voted for him in 2008 and is a small business owner? and they let a Republican man-hug him? Secret Service wasn’t all over him? I thought Democrats feared Republicans and Tea Party… an old lady in the lawn chair might be a terrorist… but Achmed Hussein Ahmadimhajib… let him in The White House.

Leave the guy alone. He does have a big heart and does good charity work in the local area including work a few years back with Tim Tebow at the same restaurant. SS had him vetted beforehand and knew who he was.

If anything, pray for the guy. He’s grossly misinformed and being used by O for the photo op. If O gets re-elected, his business may end up closed just like the others failing in South Florida.

  New Hampshire: Obama 48.3 Romney 44.8 —Obama + 3.5
  Michigan: Obama 48.8 Romney 44.8 —Obama + 4.0

  Colorado: Obama 48.7 Romney 45.3 —Obama + 3.4
  
  It is looking grim for Romney, that is a total of 95 electoral votes up for grabs and right now the presumptive electoral count is Obama 221 / Romney 191.

  Well, get ready to cry your eyes out. It seems that Romney campaign insiders have been getting a bit loose-lipped lately, and are admitting that the momentum is starting to swing Obama’s way. They (the Repubs) seem to have all but given up on some swing states. Of course a lot of things can happen between now and November, but right now Obama is in a pretty good position.
