Egyptian Islamists Tear Down U.S. Embassy Flag in Protest Against Anti-Muhammad Film
CAIRO (TheBlaze/AP) — Egyptian protesters, largely ultra conservative Islamists, have climbed the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, made their way into the courtyard and brought down the flag. They then replaced it with a black flag with an Islamic inscription to protest a film deemed offensive to Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.

Hundreds protested outside the embassy Tuesday against the film. Egyptian media say the movie was recently produced in the United States. The film, clips of which are available on the social website YouTube, show the prophet having sex and question his role as the messenger of God’s words.

The dozens of protesters who climbed the embassy wall tried to tear the American flag apart after failing to burn it. AFP has more about how the protest unfolded:
Nearly 3,000 demonstrators, most of them hardline Islamist supporters of the Salafist movement or football fans, gathered at the embassy in protest over a film deemed offensive to the Prophet Mohammed which was produced by expatriate members of Egypt’s Christian minority resident in the United States.
A dozen men scaled the embassy walls and one of them tore down the US flag, replacing it with a black one inscribed with the Muslim profession of faith: “There is no God but God and Mohammed is the prophet of God.”
Demonstrators also daubed part of that slogan — “There is no God but God” — on the walls of the embassy compound.
Embassy officials said there was no staff inside at the time. It is most noteworthy, of course, that the incident took place on the 11th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Posted on September 11, 2012 at 3:34pmI thought it was curious, too.
The very religious in our country tend to be politically conservative. They largely avoid protests and violence. When offended, they tend to turn the other cheek.
The very religious in Egypt are politically????? In favor of the Muslim Brotherhood? Is that the conservative party? They engage in mass protests. They engage in violence. When offended, the resort to violence.
Please tell me why these two sets of “conservatives” are so dissimilar, yet are labeled “conservatives?”

Posted on September 11, 2012 at 9:02pmI thought the grounds inside an embassy’s wall is sovereign land of that country. Provided that is the case, why did the embassy staff allow this to happen? Try storming the Russian embassy to tear their flag down and see how many bullets start raining down upon you. By allowing this to happen, we are showing weakness. This may be how Obama wants us to be portrayed to the world, but it is going to hurt us by emboldening the enemy.

Guess you don’t know English language rules (nouns, adjectives, etc.)? :)
But, seriously … this is what muslims do, what they are destined to do, and what Satan has deceived them into doing:
http://www.endtime.com/blog/2-billion-to-die-in-world-war-3/
“2 Billion to Die in World War 3 … ‘And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for TO SLAY THE THIRD PART OF MEN.’ (Revelation 9:15) … This time, there won’t be 8.2 million dead [WW1]. There won’t be 52 million dead [WW2]. This time 2 BILLION human beings will be annihilated from the face of the earth! We are talking about 40 times the fatalities of World War II! … According to Revelation 9:14, the prophesied war will originate from the area of the Euphrates River [all ISLAMIC dominated territory!]. The Euphrates River is located in Iraq, Turkey, Syria, and Iran.
“When will it happen?
“According to the biblical prophetic timeline given in scripture, four major prophetic fulfillments will occur at approximately the same time.
* The international community’s adoption of a peace plan for the Middle East
* The building of Israel’s temple on the Temple Mount
* Preparations being made for the implementation of the mark of the beast
* The Euphrates River War”

What you have stated concerning prophecy is incorrect, but that is what happens when you do not know what is written and you quote someone else from You-Tube (of all places).
Are we close to the end of this earth age? The answer is yes
In the book of Daniel you will find written what occurs just before the end of this earth age comes to a close. The leading activities are written in chapter 8 through 11 which actually occur prior to chapter 7. Chapter 7 is the lead in to the book of Revelation.
And 1/3 killed in the book of revelation does not mean a flesh death as if 2 billion people are mowed down by machine gun fire. It means a spiritual death. It means that the whole world (including the Muslims) will be deceived into accepting Satan as if he were Christ returned. Most people will be so ignorant or confused that they will fall down on their knees and worship a fake Jesus. It’s the worshipping of Satan as if he were Christ, that causes souls to die … it’s a spiritual death.
Now imagine what happens only 5 months later when the true Christ returns, to find his people worshipping Satan as if he were Christ….. Only then can you start to understand what the word death means. Christ will not be a happy camper, not by any means, and rightfully so. … Therefore get out of that You-Tube garbage and learn the truth as it is written, before you and others you influence wind up on their knees, worshipping a false Christ.

They keep saying oh no that is not part is Islam, yet every time I turn on the TV there it is, when will we learn enough is enough. We cannot tolerate this and to me seeing how this was at our embassy this is a act of war.
And for the love of pete, Gary Johnson only good idea to me is the fair tax, outside of that he has no shot. He has stated that he does not believe Iran is a military threat, and would use his presidential power to prevent Israel from attacking Iran, DO WHAT? He lost any credibility right there along with Paul, game over. They have some great ideas, but are not even close to being in the mainstream of this country. Every country has the right to defend themselves, and his stance is dead wrong. Imagine China using its power to prevent us from going after OBL, make sense to you? didn’t think so.
On top of that Johnson said he is pro choice and supports same sex marriage, even though he tried to CYA after he made that endorsement in 2011. Again, the fair tax is all he has to run on and shutting down the FED, ball game is over…VOTE ROMNEY, REMOVE OBAMA

I’d pull our military all home. No reason American taxpayer should be footing the bill for Japan’s defense. No reason someone’s son needs to lay face down in a sand dune in Afghanistan. I’d focus on being the best USA you can be. We will not drone or occupy or bomb or attack any other country on earth unless we declare war upon you in congress. And if that happens, I promise you that the war that ensues will be very brief and the most destructive, violent, horrific event mankind has seen to date. Never again will humanity throw around war as one of many possibilities for conflict. It will be the word people will be afraid to utter for the memories it conjures.

Our borders are our embassies in different countries, that if not there how do we have refuge for our travelers abroad and have a base for our foreign emmisaries? It is our territory just like your neighborhood is our territory. I agree that in some instances our military should not be involved, but the reason someones son is face down in a dune in Afghanistan is so another 3000+ Americans aren’t 6 feet under through terrorist attacks. I bet if one of your family members was in the towers that day you would have a different perspective. We’re droning our own people on this soil and by the way, Congress did declare war on Afghanistan on a bi-partison basis. Here on the anniversary of 9-11 your memory seems to be short.

Posted on September 11, 2012 at 4:25pm@CATB As a US Foreign Service Officer I agree with your sentiment, but disagree with the idea of shooting these people over the flag. Doing so, would put the US Staff and their families living in Cairo in absolute danger. These animals would start dragging our people out of their homes and killing them in retalitation. A flag can be replaced, the American lives cannot.
Now if they actually attempted to storm the Chancery building, then I would tell the Marines on Duty to open fire as they are trained to do. You have to realize that this is after hours and there is a skeleton crew of Marines on duty and a finite stock pile of ammunition at the Embassy. The smart thing to do would be to conserve and use only in a defensive position to hold off these people. Using up your ammunition stockpile is not worth it because they are tearing down the flag. The safety of the Americans is top priority over the safety of the flag.
My worry is whether the Eygptian government will uphold their responsibility to ensure the protection of the Embassy if these animals do try to invade the Chancery. They are obligated by the Vienna Convention to use force to eliminate the threat when called. The number of Marines on location can only hold out for so long. But as we saw in 1979 Iran, that responsibility is ignored by these people when it comes to Allah. I am sure there is a MEU in the Med that can be called in if necessary for reinforcement.

I have zero doubt that Hillary in the State Dept gave them orders to stand down no matter what happened. I see this nonsense getting worse as time runs out on the Israelis (where Iran is concerned). I feel this sideshow is a part of an Iranian strategy to stir up as much trouble as it can ( in it’s new proxy shperes, Egypt and Libya) in hopes of buying more time. Another hostage crisis would sidetrack the US quite effectively (it would paralyze this amtuerish WH Admin no doubt).

If a group of people in America were protesting at, say, the Russian embassy, and they got out of hand and took down the Russian flag, threw mud, chanted anti Russian slogans, and what ever else protesters do – this would NOT be an “act of war” by the United States on Russia.
What is IMPORTANT to watch here is how the new Egyptian government RESPONDS to this incident.
I agree that every dime we send to Egypt only goes to sharpen the talons of the hawk – but this is not an act of war by the Egyptian government on the US

Spoken like a true sheep. We kill any and all and the world will respond with kindness right? The constitutional aspect of undeclared wars also has no bearing on your bloodlust either right? The constitution is an outdated relic anyways right? Only idiots follow that stupid scrap of paper.

Posted on September 11, 2012 at 3:35pmI see it as an act of war. But I don’t think we should send ground troops into Egypt. We can’t ignore this either. Solution? I think everyone is in agreement all foreign aid should be cut off immediately. Next, since Obama is so eager to reduce our nuclear arsenal to only 300 nukes then I say use some of it on Egypt.
My general view is if a country wants to act like animals, that’s fine. But if they also have influence throughout the world then they should be eradicated completely because it is in the best interest of the planet as a whole.

Serious flaw there. IT NEVER HAPPENS! We don’t do this kind of thing nor have ever done this sort of thing. Quit equating your fellow countrymen with these barbarians. A U.S. Embassy is by law is the sovereign soil of the United States and we extend the same courtesy to embassies here. It could legally be interpreted as an act of war. There is a reason we have armed Marines there.

FYI, not sure if this is the war you are referring to but, Bush had congressional approval for the Iraq war fulfilling the constitutional requirement. You must be talking about Obama’s undeclared and unapproved wars.

Posted on September 11, 2012 at 3:57pmI said “the world”, aka all over the place. I didn’t say Egypt specifically. Conversely, Iran is a state sponsor of terrorism but you can’t point to a terrorist attack on the US funded by Iran…at least not directly. If you connect dots then maybe you could. But if you do that then you could say that Israeli drone strikes in Egypt could be tracked back to the US no?

She spearheaded efforts in Egypt and as the lead American carried out obama’s confused world vision and lead-from-behind approach to ultimately LOSE ALL CONTROL control of this essential region.
Now the obama regime are just trying to throw words at this horrific turn of events to put lipstick on pig, as the implications of an Islamist Egypt is realized and which will run absolutely counter to US national interests.

Posted on September 11, 2012 at 2:57pmThe very first sentence reveals the cowardice of The Blaze; “Egyptian protesters, largely ultra conservative Islamists….”
This is a complete lie and The Blaze should stop presenting lies as news and information. What we are witnessing is an expression of Islamic culture. These are muslims engaged in Jihad. The muslims dwelling on American soil rejoice and want to realize the same.
Outlaw Islam, close the mosques, deport the muslims. Defend the Constitution.

Posted on September 11, 2012 at 2:56pmWhere are the Marine Security Guards? Where are the outside perimeter police that guard the compound?
Immediate Actions
1. Secure the Embassy grounds. Their actions are unlawful and unacceptable. Regain this territory by force if necessary.
2. Suspend funding to the Egyptian government until this situation is fixed and measures are taken to prevent it from happening again. We spend millions there, our embassy should be diplomatically protected.
3. Suspend all foreign travel visas until this situation is calm. Shut the embassy to visa business. Get everyone’s attention that this IS an Embassy.
4. Advise US travelers that the Embassy is closed to visa services, so Americans can plan their vacations accordingly. Hurt the economy to get their attention.
5. Enlarge the Marine Security Guard staff immediately. Give instructions to use deadly force if necessary. Put up more physical security measures.
Get some respect.

12 men climbed the walls…the rooftop snipers should have had them dead before they hit the ground on the US side…
I have a feeling this “embassy” was completely empty including no guard staff…..
