The word “socialism” is thrown around a lot these days. Perhaps for good reason. But the party of bigger government has certainly tried to avoid all references. Their delegates however, are free to talk. So we asked them one simple, open ended question while at the Democratic National Convention last week: What do you think about socialism?

Their answers varied, but one theme can be seen throughout the diverse interviews: more government is good. They also mentioned Canada a lot.

seems like they drank the kool-aid that clouds their minds,effects their speech,can’t say blind leading the blind but radicals leading the ignorant……i can’t believe that this is in AMERICA…..the schools have spent alot of time to get AMERICA to this point. i am truly ashamed for these people. but when they lose their freedoms and rights and when they do wake up it’ll be to late for everyone……

  We have known this all along and I’m certainly most of us are not surprised. They are just being more open about it now because they have their boy in office. If you espouse Socialism then essentially you are for laziness, apathy, no motivation and just want to sit around and eat and collect money while someone else does all the work. Damn, I just described the dilemma I and most conservatives are facing at this very moment. I am not sure whether to be proud or maybe I’m stupid.

  I forgot who said this the other day, but I did warn that I was going to steal the saying for future use, and with this bunch it fits like a glove. That has been the goal of liberals for decades to raise ignorant people so they can control them easily. And they aim all their demagoguery against “the ugly rich” because that is the group they kill first when taking over a country. It has happened in the history of humankind, but sadly too many in America don’t know the facts.

  We have to turn around, drop, change so many things. FIrst we ‘stop the bleeding’…we make sure our Nation is protected. Then we change the attitude. We speak once again of the great “melting pot’ and destination of choice the USA is (and has been) and will be. We need to solve this Gov.Worker union nonsense. They have their “negotiating” representative…it’s call A VOTE. Otherwise, they work for the tax payer as hired by one faction or another.
  Teachers have been tools for the far right. YOUBETCHA! IF a teacher teaches a class and people can’t read..she/he is no teacher worth a penny. One teacher told me recently: I’m not in favor of the
  results method of grading teachers. I asked why. She said that some teachers teach in better neighborhoods where the kids are better behaved, have parental input etc. I say: the teacher knew what they were getting into when they accepted the job. That being able to turn around a kid in a difficult school should probably receive more reward, but failing to do so = fired. The fact that we are paying pedos etc. to hang out in a NYC classroom is disgusting. SO: DISCIPLINE: enforce it in schools, uniforms, locker inspections, classroom behavior, teacher’s rights to discipline. UNIONS: NO. (they have vote for their own school boards) . TEXTBOOKS: turn back to TRUTH. VOUCHERS? You bet.; REWARDS ? RIGHT! if the school is in a tough district, the rewards are higher ! BUDGET GUIDELINES? YO

  It isn’t only the NEA, its the non existent immigration laws. When I looked at the DNC I felt like it was a foreign country. If its Arabs or Muslims, they don’t want God or Israel mentioned. If its Hispanics, they want entitlements, and blacks also. They want free Health Care (war on women and reproductive rights), food stamps, well – socialism. Throw in some whites who want the same thing and there you have the Democratic/Progressive New America. If you come here or if you family has been here for centuries, its time to embrace America and adopt the American way. Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do FOR your country.   There should be nationwide salary guidelines. Too many times I’m hearing of the Principal’s brother being the caretaker for twice the salary of their top paid teacher. We also have school vendors/contractors etc. who’ve taken advantage of school’s like they do of the Armed Forces. BIDS must be open (after bidding)…this will prevent a lot of crony payoffs.
  Because of their UNIONS and the inability to fire anyone, Parents have ‘given up’ trying to bring a weirdo teacher before their school board. This must stop. Teachers work for ALL of us taxpayers.
  So from the building, the physical plant, through the books, to the food served, it’s all costing way too much due to cronyism … school board terms must be two term maximum; ALL text books with incorrect/politically leaning/sexually graphic information must be eliminated. ART and MUSIC AND PHYSICAL EXERCISE must be brought back. READING/WRITING must be accomplished before child can advance. DISCIPLINE must be enforced to the max. In other words…in order to change our Society and bring it back…WE HAVE TO UNDO ALL OF THE DASTARDLY RUINOUS THINGS THE COMMIES DID TO OUR SCHOOLS FOR PAST 60 years…and they did do it, on purpose, they admitted it last year!!!. FIRST we have to get that Commie out of the WHITE HOUSE.
  We have a lot of work to do. WE will win. The polls you are seeing now that give OBAMA a 2-5 point lead were taken using results from 30=50% more Dems! LOL DUH

  Political freedom and Socialism are unrelated, by and large; you can have either one without the other. Socialism does make political freedom easier to obtain because in a socialist state money has a far smaller role in the political system than in the U.S. version of capitalism.
  If by “freedom” you mean Capitalism unrestrained by any sort of regulation, then, yes, Socialist states do not have that. However, truly democratic Socialist states (e.g. Denmark, Norway, France, etc.) generally do not allow the complete despoilation of their environments by companies or individuals in the manner that we have allowed huge swaths of West Virginia to be destroyed by coal companies.

You go to the store, buy all of the crayons, pencils, tissue paper, construction paper… they are so happy to see it all. Then, on the first day of school, the teacher collects everything but a couple of pencils from your students and consolidates them. They are then redistributed to everyone… The excuse, not everyone can afford the nice crayons, construction paper… so, we compile them and redistribute to everyone to be fair. Sound familiar?

  I wonder if it is far too late to educate Americans so branwashed from elementary school level to the universities where communism rules. I really don’t think that the majority of Americans, especially those who vote Democrat, can understand that they are just pawns being used to destroy this country. It happened in Russia, China and Cuba. It is happening in Venezuela, a country with a once thriving economy, which is being turned into a backwater wasteland by Hugh Chavez.
  
  Just like Rome, at the end of the empire, Americans are far too busy watching “You can be a Star”, “American Idol”, “Pretty Little Liars”, “Jersey Shore” MTV and other forms of inane “Entertainment” to ever take the time to really learn what this bunch of “Progressive” leeches are really doing to our country. Large numbers of Americans had rather get a check from the government than work. In Rome, the populace figured out that they could live off the fat of the land and soon the empire became a welfare state.
  
  What happens when the money runs out? Just watch Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy. I don’t think that even if we elect ardent conservatives we can fix our mess quickly. It’s taken 100 years of “Progressive” politics and politicians to screw America up and it can’t be fixed quickly.

This is going to settled in one of two ways. We give them New York, Mid-Atlantic Coast, New England, Illinois and the left Coast so they can have their Socialist/Communist “workers paradise”, kiss and say it just didn’t work out. But if they insist on forcing their bankrupt economic and totalitarian governance on the rest of us there is going to be another revolution with the result as described above only with a lot of blood spilled and a lot of very bad feelings turning North America into something more resembling Europe with wars breaking out every few years.

Or at least that is what history teaches. I highly doubt we can change the course of history. Many have tried, all have failed. Remember the words of the great scientist Albert Einstein ” Insanity is repeating the same action time after time expecting a different result”. He was referring to the scientific method and experimentation but the axiom holds equally true to economics, politics, and all other human endeavors. To believe otherwise is arrogant, stupid, and ill-advised. History will repeat itself as long as that advice is ignored.

  I have felt the same way in the past, but it is clear, the progressives can’t coexist with the rest of us and must be defeated, much like the Soviet Union. They will continue to attack the non-welfare states until they achieve one world government, because socialism and communism only work when no one can escape. For those of you too young to remember, people would risk death to escape the Iron Curtain and the Democrats fought Reagan the whole time he was trying to tear it down. They know the truly productive and innovative will migrate to freedom, so they will snuff out freedom wherever it is.   The USSR doesn’t exist , and if it did their type of Socialism would not be acceptable to the Democrats because the Russians did not allow people to sit at home and collect money without working for it. You were just as much a enemy of the State as a subversive if you did not work. Only disabled,mentally ill, or pensioners were allowed to do this, if you tried this they would arrest you and force you to work via labor camps. For those who spoke about “universal healthcare”…they say how great it is and how wonderful the coverage is….then explain to me why so many people from those countries that have “universal healthcare” come to America to get treated?

These people need to wake up and stop dreaming because that is all it is….a dream. Just look at our system and how it operates now….I messed my next up and had to go the doctor, well the doctor said I had to see a specialist right away and that I could not wait. Well when I tried to make an appointment with the specialist, he said the earliest he could get me in was a month later. Luckily I was able to see a PA and did not have to wait. However, if we have “universal healthcare” I would not have been able to do that and that 1 month wait would probably have been at least 6 months to a year.

One can only wonder what the devil they’ve been teaching in American public schools for the past 50 years. “Civics ” went out the window . Saw an article about a guy in India who named his store ” Hitler,” and had not a clue that the name would be offensive . Someone needs to revise our school curricula to include the dangers of the Stalins, the Hitlers, and the Maos.

  Barber, after going to Catholic school for 9 years, I transferred to public school and I could tell you what they taught, the same thing that I already learned in Catholic school, but I did learn how to gang war, how to skip school and get away with it, how to cut classes, pick the lock to the school roof and bang beaver on the roof instead of going to class. I skipped 118 days of school my senior year and got a certificate for perfect attendance since before every report card was to be printed, I would wait for my homeroom teacher to not be there and when I had a supstitute teacher I would get a lab cart and collect the roll books but only in my homeroom so my entire homeroom received a perfect attendence in their senior year and when I did graduate, I got all A’s since I would only go to school when tests and exams were being given. This is back in the late 60′s since I graduated in 1970, so I could only imagine that things got worse and not better. Public school was a joke back then and although if I had the chance I have been serious in school and not one of the cool guys since instead of becoming rich as a doctor which I always wanted to be, I eked out a living first as a prison sergenat then as a police officer, which got my daughters through 12 years of Catholic school then both 4 years through prestigious Universities, gave them everything they needed growing up but it was a struggle. I wasted my intelligence because public school doesn’t care what we did.

Why would you want a larger government so that it can take care of your? Do you miss having your parents telling you what to do and making sure you have clean clothes and something to eat? What ever happened to wanting to be an adult and taking responsibility for yourself? It seems to me that liberals are made up of two distinct groups: Those who want someone to take care of every aspect of their lives and those who believe that everyone else is so stupid that they need to take care of them and tell them how to live their lives.

  Soetero went to Occidental by design, his mentor and allegedly his real father Frank Marshall Davis had the connections to get Soetero into Occidental where many of Davis’s fellow Communists were professors and his Communist mentoring continued in Occidental he barely passed, but through the magic of Affirmative Action he was accepted into Columbia U. where he rarely attended classes, none of his fellow students knew of or heard of him, and only Obama and God knows if he graduated, but I will asume he did once again through the miracle of Affirmative Action. He was to busy attending Communist rallies instead of attending classes. He was raised by Communist grand parents also so there was only one way Obama could think and that was as a Communist and he took his Communist teachings and put them into practice while in the White House, but had the common sense to disguise his beliefs at least until he is re elected and if that happens our American Democracy will be changed into a Communist form of government, and anyone that doesn’t see this happening are fools or are of the same mind as Obama.
  Our only recourse is to get the silent majority to get out of their houses and vote on November 6th like they have never voted before, in great numbers since we are not up against only the idiots we saw in this video, we are up against all the undesirables in America such as the welafare recipients, queers, and dead voters.
