Chicago Teachers Protest Gov. At 9/11 Memorial Event

The Chicago teachers’ unions, by some accounts, believe themselves to be the last gasp of unionized education – a political fighting force that, if defeated on their turf, will mark the end of teachers’ unions.

If so, it may be surprising that teachers’ unions have managed to stay alive this long. Why? Because the Chicago teachers’ unions appear to have completely missed every lesson in optics one would get from even basic political campaigning.

You see, as part of their attempt to intimidate the city of Chicago, the unions are picketing every public event where powerful officials will be present. And we do mean every event. WLS 980AM in Chicago reports that, in what appears to be an effort to intimidate Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, the unions have started protesting at a 9/11 memorial. Yes, really:

Dozens of striking Chicago teachers are protesting outside a Sept. 11 memorial event where Gov. Pat Quinn is speaking.

The Chicago Democrat hasn’t weighed in on the walkout, which entered its second day on Tuesday.

As he headed into the event, Quinn walked through the crowd, which sang “Amazing Grace” and held American flags. He said “Good luck.”

The teachers marched over from nearby Curie Metro High School on the city’s southwest side.

One can only imagine what these people would have done if Rahm Emanuel had arrived.

Needless to say, acts like this are unlikely to do much to endear the unions to voters. This is a problem for them, considering their actions have already induced a high level of bipartisan consensus on the side of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Even the words on their signs are not spelled correctly. What a pathetic bunch of losers. FIRE ALL OF THEM and hand out vouchers to the kids. With $13,000.00 a year EACH, they can get a GOOD education anywhere else.

Respond in November by showing the strength of the ultimate “public union” – Vote these Marxist out and eliminate all public unions and end the power of control of the NLRB. It will take decades of hard work to solve most of the problems in our Federal & State government. Keep your eye on the prize.

Who works less than teacher with no accoutability?

Twenty six thousand teachers are on strike because they fear they might actually might be held accountable for the fact they are lazy, incompetent and they can’t teach. America’s school systems are a failure.

Teachers, protest your UNIONS–they are your problem. Highest paid in America and only 60% make it out of high school—something I would never be proud of. If your teaching is so great, Why does 39% of you teachers send your own kids to private schools? You are between a rock and a hard place. Do you support family s and kids or your pockets and unions.

These miserable government employees had to protest their own failure in educating our children by complaining about union contracts at a 911 event?
This, America, is a big part of what you are voting against on Nov. 6th.
Chicago ranks last in public education in the entire nation!
Children are the last concern to the UTA and the US Dept of Education.
Level the playing field, vote for our children.
Return America to states rights and lets expedite the demise of the tragic and costly failure.

You’ll forgive me if I’m not outraged. You see, in order to be outraged, one would need to be shocked or suprised. I am niether. I am originally from Illinois, and I left for a very good reason. Not the entire state is completely corrupt, just enough that I really did’nt want to raise my kids there. Now my kids are all grown and guess what? No criminal records, stable jobs and kids of their own. Glad I left. Chicago is a boil on the ass of America. Never should have rebuilt it after the fire. If the best things that Chicago can produce are Obama and Jerry Springer, then I think they need to call it quits

This can’t be accurate. Please, let there be a piece of information missing or some miscommunication somewhere, not on 9/11? If true, maybe in their zeal the protesters didn’t really think about the significance of the date and now deeply regret their actions. If the report is factual, it’s still OK because dozens of people compared to millions more of Americans who live decent, honorable lives is insignificant. Besides, they can still change if given a good example to follow.

This falls in line with their Communist/Socialist Comrades in Arms on how they really feel about America. Any Union Member that believes in what this country stands for and understands what the Founders laid out for all of us should – MUST resign from this disgraceful organization to send them a loud and clear message. The Public of Chicago needs to be heard from denouncing this strike as well. Where are you?

I would say the only people that are being hurt here are the kids but, I don’t believe that is necessarily true. At least when you take the fact that only 15% of the kids can read somewhat proficiently. They’re probably better off being as far from those schools as possible.

High school drop-out rate in major US cities at nearly 50 percent

Chicago (55.7 percent vs. 84.1 percent)
81.4 is the suburbs graduation rate

This union thugs and pigs care about nothing or no one except getting more. Protest a 9-11 memorial? These people are idiots. Listen to how many of them are claiming that they are on strike “for the children”. Just how does that work? Right now 72 cents of every dollar spent on education in Chicago goes to teacher’s retirement. That helps the kids a whole lot. Why did they wait to strike until the school year started? How does not going to school “help the kids”? And just why are they striking? Because the city wants to be able to hold teachers accountable for whether or not they are doing their jobs. Chicago has a 40% drop out rate in it’s schools. Want to help the children? Fire the union teachers and start over again.

These are Obozo’s teachers…..if the teachers weren’t on strike, then they would be teaching Muslim indoctrination on the 11th anniversary of 911. Per Obozo’s request….all the teachers were told to not talk about 911, just spend some time on the Peaceful Porno Watching religion.

The kids are getting more edumacation eating breakfast and lunch and playing video games…. These obese intolerant teachers aren’t doing anything but indoctrinating high school dropouts.
