Democrats Apologize for Displaying Russian Warships at DNC Tribute to Veterans

Democratic officials have issued an apology for mistakenly displaying Russian warships as the background to a ceremony honoring U.S. veterans at the Democratic National Convention.

The apology reads, according to the Navy Times:

“Due to vendor error, incorrect images appeared briefly on screen behind fifty-one veterans during the convention and the DNCC apologizes for this mistake…This error should not distract from the words of Admiral Nathman and others who spoke to President Obama’s strong record on issues that impact those who have served our nation.”

The apology concludes with a swipe at Republican nominee Mitt Romney:

“We’re proud of the service and sacrifice of our veterans and military families, and while they were an important and active part our of convention, Mitt Romney failed to even mention them in his speech in Tampa.”

But many Navy Times readers are not mollified.

Several of the ships weren’t just any Russian ships, but Soviet-era warships that the “honored” soldiers once “squared off against,” the site says.

The Navy Times concludes:

Many…readers have cite the image’s erroneous broadcast as evidence that the Democratic Party was out of touch with veterans.

“A retired admiral with a shot of Soviet-era ships behind him,” one reader, who said he was a Navy vet, commented via Facebook. “Is the Democratic Party that far removed that they can’t check up on a simple picture?”

The apology is also reminiscent of the convention passing blame for another video error. When a video played during the same week saying that Americans “belong” to government, the DNC said that was the fault of the host committee.

  2. The nation of Israel, for not knowing that Jerusalem is the capital city?
  3. Every person who has ever been murdered by the terrorists of Hamas?

  just like the removal of God and Jerusalem from platform…
  it is congress’s fault that we don’t have a budget…
  it is the republicans fault for breathing and taking too much of his precociousness’ air….

And the DNC says the RNC are the one’s out of touch with the America……oh wait the DNC is the communist party so they chose the correct picture….it is just that most Americans do not see that the DNC is showing their true colors bit by bit and when someone who does know what it going on and calls them on it, they say that it was a “mistake” or “mis-spoke”

  I have been involved with MANY multimedia presentations. SOMEONE in charge always has the final approval. If they did outsource this (probably because it was over their heads technologically), then both the 3rd party AND the DNC member or group in charge of this fiasco are at fault. If the DNC did not give proper direction, then it is 100% their fault.

This wasn’t a vendor error as much as the multiple error of calling Navy Corpsmen “Corpse-Men”. This administration and this party hate the military, the don’t understand the military, and they don’t care to learn to understand them or love them. Pathetic people these Dems are. They eliminate all reference to God/Jerusalem/Israel
They show Russian ships.

Only when caught in public with this information do they change tack and set a new course of CYA as quickly as they can. So what else is hiding in the wings?

Perhaps there was a subtle message in the video. We all know that Barry will be more submissive to Putin AFTER the election (he said so in an “open mic” event. Perhaps he’s just showing who our new masters would be. This is Barry’s “capitalist side” showing where he’s increasing the price he gets for selling out the US by creating competition between Russia and China.

They can’t run a nation and they can’t even have a covention without denying God, booing God, and putting Soviet warships on their screens.
