GoPro Cam Captures Stunning Footage of Motorcyclist Being Thrown Through the Air During Accident
Last month, TheBlaze brought you the GoPro camera footage from a motorcycle-deer collision from which both parties were able to walk away relatively unscathed. Now, a GoPro has captured the bike point-of-view footage of another crash from a fellow motorcyclist on a group ride — this time the cyclist in the accident was not so lucky.
The camera mounted on another motorcyclist’s bike shows a fellow rider crashing violently into a trailer, smashing his bike and flying through the air.

According to the description of the video posted on YouTube, the motorcyclist was air lifted to the hospital with a broken arm and leg.
Watch the CBS News report on the incident:
Here’s the full YouTube footage:
The person who posted this video said he had not met the man in the accident prior to the group ride. The GoPro was mounted on his Ducati 848 Evo. The man who hit the trailer was riding a ZX-10.
“As I was slowing down he was still going fast and said he never saw the trailer,” the YouTube user drramascrr wrote.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 11:05pmIf you are on a Motorcycle of any sort, in any accident you are at fault and will pay dearly for it. There is no such thing as a minor accident if you are on two wheels.
The Question always is what do you do to avoid an accident? And yes I am paranoid I have had too many people pull out in front of me in their metal boxes. It does not matter if I am riding the cruiser or the 2500 GMC, They will look straight at me and pull out in the 55 mile per hour road just to see if I can slow down enough to miss them.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 10:18pm3 months ago I lost a cousin who was killed riding his motorcycle home from work. He rode bikes for over 35 years and was as safe as anyone I have ever known, He was traveling down a country rode when an 18 year old girl crossed into his lane and hit him head on. He normally did not ride his bike to work, but when gas went over $3.00 a gallon his F-150 cost to much to drive the distance he did for work. **** OBAMA and the horse he rode to Washington on!!

Posted on September 13, 2012 at 2:23pmThe degree of the angle of which you hit (or “sudden decileration syndrome”) changes a whole lot of things, too…like the angle your legs are attached to the hip joint, etc. After these degree changes the degree of fun changes too.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 7:55pmIs it just me, or do others scoff when they see those yellow bumper stickers that say, “Start Seeing Motorcycles!”
“Yeah,” I always think, “start driving to be seen, and maybe the rest of us will see you.”
Maybe there needs to be a bumper sticker saying, “Start Seeing Trailers!”
After watching lots of YouTube bikers, I find it hard to have a whole lot of sympathy for motorcyclists who drive like they’re on an obstacle course, speeding, zipping around, weaving in and out, around and between other vehicles, like they’re hotshot dare devils. Yeah, like I said, start driving to be seen, and maybe we’ll see you.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 5:01pmThe last few years I have seen so many bad bikers. More then I have my entire life. I think most of them are young stupid kids. We had a horrific crash just a few miles from my house. Biker traveling over a 100mph in a 55 zone and a family turns in front of him. They all died in a fireball. It was horrible. In the past 10 days I have seen a biker (again young from what I could tell) pass on our left.. 2 cars in both lanes in front of him and the he guns it passes them both in the middle on the line. Another biker traveling freaking fast down town through intersections and another biker passing on the right in the gravel speeding way past 65mph. because I was doing 65. I am over 50 and I have never seen this crap by bikers. They give the rest a bad name.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 4:49pmI’ve done some stupid things in my time, many on a motorcycle, but not seeing a trailer that’s right in front of me was never one of them. Aside from the broken arm and leg I’ll bet this guy’s got a case of pavement rash that’ll be with him for many years.
This guy is either brain dead or has the attention span of a rock, what did he think the other rider in front of him was nearly stopped for?

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 4:18pmSorry, had too many friends killed on bikes… Not a fan. Usually it’s the biker that gets taken out by another car because they never see you. In this case, he took himself out. What an idiot. They provide that adrenaline, and “feeling of freedom”! Oh boy! I get it… I’ve ridden a couple in my day. They’re just dumb and not worth the risk.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 3:34pmRiding experience doesn’t come in a revelation but is hard earned and on going. It doesn’t prevent accidents unless applied. Group riding should be avoided unless necessary and the model bike you ride is meaningless if you are not careful and alert. Don’t listen to BS from “bikers” you don’t know as they are probably still peddling[?] their bikes……
