TheBlaze TV Celebrates One-Year Anniversary With Beck’s Return to Traditional TV and DISH Network Launch
Continuing on an upward trajectory, Wednesday marks the one-year anniversary of TheBlazeTV– formerly GBTV — with a significant expansion into the world of satellite television. Partnering with DISH Network, Glenn Beck’s online 24-hour news, information and entertainment network will now be available on television exclusively on DISH, joining a host of channels including MSNBC, BBC America, CNN, Current, Comedy Central and FOX News.
After launching exactly one year ago, TheBlazeTV rapidly grew into one of the world’s most subscribed-to online streaming networks. TheBlazeTV will be available to DISH viewers on channel 212 as part of DISH’s America’s Top 250 package or a la carte for $5 a month. The channel launches on Wednesday, September 12, at 5 p.m. EDT.
TheBlaze and its host of established and emerging talent including Andrew Wilkow, S.E. Cupp, Buck Sexton and Will Cain, will offer its programming as a free preview for all DISH customers through Sept. 26.
Of course, TheBlazeTV will continue to be available online at TheBlaze.com, where on-demand programs can be accessed with the click of a mouse.
“After being phenomenally successful with his online streaming network, we’re pleased to host Glenn Beck’s return to broadcast TV, especially during this exciting and important political season,” said DISH CEO and President Joseph Clayton in an official press release. “With Glenn’s return, DISH is truly the one stop for news, opinion and perspective across the full political spectrum.”
Excited for the future, Beck added, “TheBlaze has helped revolutionize television over the Internet and now we are excited to bring the revolution back to traditional television.”
“TheBlaze will be home to news, information and entertainment programming with the facts and stories people care about most and we look forward to kicking things off with DISH.”
Christopher Balfe, CEO of TheBlaze also weighed in, stating that the goal of the company was to “deliver TV over the Internet, not Internet TV.”
“Twelve months later, we’ve succeeded beyond our wildest imagination with content that built one of the world’s largest subscription streaming networks,” he added.
The line-up of programs will continue to grow, as well as feature all of the familiar faces people from around the world have come to know — from The Glenn Beck Program to Liberty TreeHouse, Real News From TheBlaze, to a brand new program hosted by Andrew Wilkow.
What’s more, TheBlaze.com concluded August with its best month ever, hosting over 9 million unique visitors and is led by a formidable team of media veterans including: President and CCO Joel Cheatwood, formerly a Senior Vice President at FoxNews and CNN, President and Chief Revenue Officer Kraig Kitchin who co-founded Premiere Radio Networks, and Betsy Morgan, President & Chief Strategy Officer who formerly served as CEO of The Huffington Post and as a Senior Vice President at CBS News.
TheBlazeTV can now be found on DISH channel 212
Benghazi, IRS, AP...What's next? Only TheBlaze TV offers the truth from Glenn Beck, Andrew Wilkow, and Real News from TheBlaze. Get instant access and a free trial here.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 8:28amDish network and DirecTv are owned by the same company. The two exist only because of government anti-monopoly laws that won’t allow them to own the whole market share under one company. I of course have DirecTv. We dumped Dish after the contract ran out because their service was terrible. As for GBTV, the streaming of GBTV through our ISP sucked so bad we canceled twice.
Great going Mr. Beck, you now have yet another way I can’t access your program!

I first was watching via GoogleTV Box through the website, but it had too many issues with the embedded player. I was hoping for an GBTV (now BlazeTV) app for GoogleTV.
The Roku really does an excellent job! I loved Wilkow’s first show.

I order the Dish Network and paid them $50. They knew my address and could have determined the direction of my apartment was facing the wrong way but they didn’t tell me. Even if they didn’t know, they refused to refund the $50 after it became obvious that they would not be able to provide the service. I have no way to recover my money. They are criminals. Posted on September 12, 2012 at 10:14amI wish Glenn the best with Dish but him moving to Dish is not a reason for me to switch from DirecTv. We have been subscribers to DirecTv for 8 years and they have given us great service, other than the occasional outage during a storm, in which we lose HD signals first. Takes a really strong rain to block the SD feed. Anyway, good luck Glenn! Just wait until you try to renegotiate your contract with Dish in the future!

Posted on December 20, 2012 at 4:29pmAwesome. We’ve been a customer of Dish forever. Literally. We were one of their first customers in our Georgia county back in the 90′s. For those who might have pause due to their service. Let me say that it is THE BEST now you will find in all of media. Bar none. We upgraded to the new “Hopper” system and had a few bugs to work out. The customer service was/is tremendous. I would not hesitate to recommend Dish, and for those interested in the Beck programming, this is a no-brainer.
I must admit we have considered going online for all our programming consumption. And cable/satellite is expensive. But with crappy ATT DSL service I have a difficult time just getting/keeping good Internet service. To sit there and watch the buffering wheel spin or have to sit through low quality video due to slow speeds just makes consuming entertainment a drag. For the convenience and ability to utilize the DVR and time-shift we continue to prefer to pay for the service. And always having HD and DD sound…it’s worth it.

Posted on September 13, 2012 at 2:12am@Puddle Duck, You don’t know the details. They told me to pay the $50 in advance and then I contracted the apartment manager about the installation and then learned I was facing the wrong direction. I called them less than 5 minutes afterwards telling them about this and they laughed at me and said no to a refund. Why can’t they refund it they didn’t do anything yet? They new they could get away with it. It would take them 20 seconds to google map my apartment and see that I was facing the wrong direction before hand. With absolute certainty these professionals knew that an apartment could face the wrong way and it comes up every single day when they go to work. I didn’t know that. They laughed before I paid it and I even said that sounded weird that they were laughing. They were laughing because I was a sucker. Dish Network ripped me off. Beck will not be on the Dish Network 3 years from now; Beck will figure these guys out sooner or later. They have no honor. They ripped me off.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 9:17amThat $5 is more like $45 as Blaze TV can’t be bought by itself. There has to be a subscription to an existing program package.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 9:55amI think part of the premium you’re (me too) paying is to have access to have everything available on demand…

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 10:06amYou have to consider that while Dish subscribers will get the Blaze for a lower monthly cost, they will not have the ability to watch programming on demand, only live. The additional five bucks a month to subscribe online gets you the capability to watch what you want when you want.
I love the flexibility that theBlazeTV and my Roku provide, but am thrilled that this deal will allow Glenn and everyone else on his network to reach an even larger audience. What he has accomplished in just one year is phenomenal. It should inspire all of us to get up off the couch and go make good things happen within our own spheres of influence.
Congratulations Glenn and company.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 10:12amThe Blaze subscription also gives you access to all manner of archived material, etc. – just like back in the Fox days. You could watch Glenn on Fox, but your “Insider” subscription gave you access to other website info. If TheBlaze does expand to my cable provider I will do the Dance of Joy, but I will still keep my subscription. FIOS next, please!

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 4:02pmThe cheapest Dish Package is $25 a month and I think DVR costs $5. So to get it like we do it will be $35 a month/.
…Or they could pay $69 for the 250 package. Personally, I’ll take my streaming devices.

I dropped Cox Cable in June and went with AT&T U-verse. Sattelite dishes don’t inspire confidence when you live in the land of the hurricanes…
Congrats to Genn and EVERYONE at GBTV/BlazeTV, and here’s hoping that you get on AT&T U-verse’s roster of channels SOON…!!!

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 9:37amIf you want a program, you have to nag them until they give in. I’m in for the write in if anyone else is. I have Fox, and some Fox business. If they put it up to 3rd tier, I’d pay more, but just got a roku and new tv, so I am fine for now. What I’m excited about is those who didn’t have any way to see him. Maybe we can move some more mountains with prayer and support.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 6:55amI’m a subscriber to GBTV. Wish I had Dish Network. DirecTV has failed me too many times. Horrible service. When you order satellite service or DVR from DirecTV, they send you the OLD OBSOLETE model receivers and DVRs. Slooooooooooow browsing through channels. The delayed response time between the remote and the receiver drives me nuts! The remotes themselves are GARBAGE! Lots of failures of remotes and receivers. I’ve called several times asking for the NEW NEW NEW style receiver/DVR. They keep sending me their obsolete junk. Customer service says the shipping dept just sends out whatever they have in stock. Losers. DirecTV DVR’s are the most worthless product you could possibly use… you cannot watch another program while recording another. Ask anyone. I’ve been with them since the mid 1990′s. TheBlaze move to Dish Network is my incentive to drop DirecTV, I use to laugh my rear off when DirecTV said Dish Network didn’t carry MSNBC and BET in their basic lineup.. hahaha Like they are telling me to switch to Dish.
I have been trying to contact TheBlaze about a unique and far reaching idea. A software program that could help INCREASE subscriber viewership and definitely be a marketable software product idea that can be used by anyone using high speed internet $$$. Wish they would get back to me!!!!!!

I have seen many people comment on blogs about the ONE-WAY communication with the Glenn Beck organisation….. You communicate respectfully yet they continue to IGNORE the paying customers!
They never reply to emails, letters or even registered letters…… I have been looking for a telephone number for months to follow up on suggestions I have made as well.
I am about to cancel my subscription to GBTV…………. because of IDIOTS like this moron… grayling646 ….. read his comments on this subject!

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 6:51amWe had the ROKU to watch on TV and adopted the DISH service for the HOPPER DVR capability. Best of all the major carriers. AND we saved $$ on a 2 yr. deal. Now we’ll record ?? FOX and watch the BLAZE TV folks.
Congratulations to the whole GBTV/BlazeTV team and to Glenn, Stu and Pat. Our thanks and Prayers to Glenn for his mission to inform and entertain. The truth has no agenda!

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 6:46amIt looks to me like the internet TV model was not economically viable. I was a subscriber but quit when I saw that it had so many commercials. I would not subscribe to any advertising based media. I suspect that the overhead structure for BeckTV was just overly ambitious. There was too much expensive talent. I will also never pay for commercials based stations on TV.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 6:37amI too congratulate you Glenn. I will continue watching you on the internet since I agree that even though I can afford it, cable and satellite are way too expensive for the value they provide. This will give the trash at MSNBC some sleepless nights.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 2:10pmWow, now I believe it: TheBlaze will be like Fox News! It makes sense now. (Only let’s hope that the Blaze will continue to operate TOTALLY independent of the media’s pressures to comply). Maybe the competition will also strengthen Fox against pressures to bend and be molded. May Glenn Beck stay strong and true. He needs our prayers now more than ever as he continues to broadcast the truth.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 6:31amThe irony of this to me: I just canceled Dish..the dvr, I just boxed up yesterday to ups back to them. At $60+ a month I felt it was too expensive to continue. I do like that has daystary, the church channel and many religious channels, however i had blocked most of the other channels out as current, RT, and all the adult junk and i never had any of the movie channels or extras. I had the lowest package available for cable channels. At first there is a 2 year contract which was half the cost in the 1st year and then doubled the second year. I suppose for people that can afford that it’s a good thing…but to me it was way to expensive. When it gets very cloudy or snows the signal is lost for periods of time and is annoying. God Bless Glenn and I’m happy that he will be reaching more people but I’m still sending back the dvr ..bye, bye Dish.

Posted on September 13, 2012 at 9:09am@PAPPY72, It is a sign of bad character. Dish Network doesn’t have good ethics. I listen to nearly every radio transmission of the Beck radio show during the week. Whenever he talks about the Dish Network I have to turn the volume down because I find it disturbing to hear someone that just argued for ethics and strong moral character for ten minutes or so advocate doing business with DISH Network that RIPPED ME OFF. It just ain’t right. They knew they were ripping me off.
