Tony Perkins Slams DNC For Booing God: ‘I Recall In History Where There Was Someone Else Who Denied God Three Times’

Tony Perkins Compares Democrates to Peter Denying Jesus Three Times

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council in Washington DC, spoke candidly to TheBlaze Tuesday afternoon about his feelings toward the highly controversial platform decisions of the DNC Convention.

As TheBlaze formerly reported,

With heavy booing from dissenters, the Democratic National Convention voted Wednesday to reinstate language supporting Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to restore a reference to God in its party platform.  DNC Chairman and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa conducted a voice vote of the delegates on the proposed platform changes, asking for yeses and nos three times because of how similar the responses sounded. A two-thirds vote was required to adopt the change. Despite clear opposition, Villaraigosa declared the amendment had passed, prompting loud booing.

Perkins assailed the odd move and the controversy with a biblical reference.

Perkins quoted a friend who was at the convention and said “clearly they didn’t get the three quarters vote” needed to put God back into the platform. He continued, “I recall in history where there was someone else who denied God three times, the Son of God, before a rooster crowed.”  Perkins was obviously referring to the scripture out of the Gospel of Matthew where it talks about Peter’s denial:

Tony Perkins Compares Democrates to Peter Denying Jesus Three Times

"The Denial of Saint Peter" by Gerrit van Honthorst, c. 1623

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, Peter — this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.”

Matthew 26:34

Perkins noted the decision shows where the Democratic party stands on a fundamental issue for Americans.  Perkins was alarmed at the bluntness with which the DNC platform included abortion and gay marriage in their platform as well.

“The Democratic party is for unlimited taxpayer-funded abortion,” he said, adding that “they want other Americans to be forced to pay to end human life.”   Perkins called the entire DNC platform “Troubling.”

We mustn’t be too hard on the DNC. The process to approve the Party Platform was the same process as what Pelosi and the Democrats did with ObamaCare…in other words, “they had to pass the platform in order to find out what was in it!

I agree with Laura Ingram – If the Republican Party can’t win this election… then the party is DEAD.

The base of the American public is SO FAR GONE that we have slipped into the point of no return.

    It could be the latter

You are brainwashed if you believe in God, period. We are not born with a belief in some supernatural power that created and controls all things. That is fed to us from the day we are born. If you can’t see that, you shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

You are stupid, ignorant, and childish if you believe that you can give political authority over your life to a godless government. Such a government will treat you like the commodity that you are…and when that government has no need for you then it will dispose of you in any manner it chooses whether you like it or not. BTW, Allah is not God, and Islam is neither peaceful or good, but it is better than a godless communist such as your self.

We need a government controlled by a people that value and strive to achieve character traits espoused by good Judeo-Christian principles, honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, brave, clean, and reverent. Proper definitions of these are found in Scripture, not in government regulations, and not in your brain or your heart.
After all you are just a mass of molecules that evolved from nothing and have no true value other than the economic value of the chemicals and compounds that are found in and under your skin. The thought that you have intrinsic value or future human potential simply from being alive,is fantasy arising from your own self delusion. Especially when you become old and decrepit.
The rest of society would be lucky if you are fit for Solyent Green.

What also is telling about this incident at the DNC is how Villaraigosa defrauded the democratic process. The DNC WAS CLEARLY AGAINST reinsertion of Jerusalem and God into the platform. And after THREE CLEAR votes were taken, Villaraigosa declared the will of the radical supermob audience invalid. There you go folks, voter fraud and disenfranchisement live on camera at the DNC. And we’re supposed to trust these people and the union paid lemming state and town workers running the polling stations to be honest without cameras rolling?

Encinom: Pedophilia is not in the constitution either, but that doesn’t mean the founders were for it, or against it.
Your logic is flawed. The constitution clearly states: Congress shall make no law regarding the establishment of religion, or the free exercise thereof. Do you get the part about free exercise?
The constitution guarantees freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion. Posting the 10 commandments in a courthouse is not establishing a state religion. Allowing Athiests to prevail by removing all references to God is a state established religion. Atheism is the religion of me, of worshiping ones self over any other.

The Free Exercise clause is a private right held by a Citizen, the Establishment Clause limits the interactions between Church and State, Posting the 10 Commandments in a Public Building like a Courthouse is a violation of the Establishment Clause, no citizen’s Free Exercise right has been infringed. The Establishment Clause does mean freedom from religion, it means freedom from the Government showing favoritism to any one religion, it means freedom from having tax dollars spent to endorse and advance any one religion.

      @ECinoSatan
Where has Congress established a religion as a law? The problem we have here is that the government has pervasively and subversively invaded all levels of society to the point it sticks its hand in every activity of every citizen, from education to farming. Anything can be used to oppress religion because of state involvement. But let’s be clear… your objections are primarily against Christianity. You seem to embrace Islam by your attitudes, an “ends justifies the means” style ideology. You have no qualms about imposing the government as god on all the nation, or your own sick values on your fellow citizens. As you know, and Peter Stark has stated, the government can do whatever it wants and it doesn’t matter what you say or think.
Instead, you impose through law the Statist Religion. The government is the ultimate power in America, not the people. Folks like you who demand that the government not yield to a higher power, a holy and righteous power, ie God (Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit who defines what is righteous and good) encourage the government to fulfill that role. Like all good Democrats, RINOs, atheists, Marxists, communists, Nazis, Stalinists, and theocrats and homosexuals, you impose your religion and lifestyles on those who do not impose theirs on you. You define bad as good, and good as bad. You are the Anti-Christ, the Anti-God, the Anti-Good. You have no authority over anything especially the Constitution.

Sometimes, I wonder if those leading the Democrat Party campaign to re-elect President Obama, throw easy softballs to the Republicans, so we can stand with Barack Obama, and elect him out of office on election day, without apologizing for the fact he will vote for himself and we will not?

Republicans are not going to apologize for the Democrats that want God out of the platform, just like they are not going to apologize for the hate crimes of foreign nations? I am not going to apologize for not eating fried chicken, in memory of 9/11, for the rest of the year, after a certain restaurant chain announces they slaughter chickens a certain way?

I fear for our country with so many totally willing to deny God and the power there of. Once again, everyone needs to read the Harbinger. Israel fell due to their secular way of life 3000 years ago and the USA is following the same path – exactly as happened 3000 years ago. Read the Harbinger – it lays out the details. We are now walking the footprints of Israel from 3000 years ago.
