As a candidate for President in 2008, candidate Barack Obama harshly condemned politicians in Washington for being too concerned with politics and not concerned enough with intelligence.  Obama chastised the Washington establishment in a highly touted speech on the Iraq war:

 

“…[T]here were too many politicians in Washington who spent too little time reading the intelligence reports, and too much time reading public opinion. The lesson of Iraq is that when we are making decisions about matters as grave as war, we need a policy rooted in reason and facts, not ideology and politics.”

However, the Government Accountability Institute recently examined President Obama’s schedule to see how often he attended his Presidential Daily Intelligence Briefing (PDBs).  During his first two and a half years in office, Obama attended the briefing just 43.8 percent of the time. During 2011 and the first half of 2012 his attendance fell to just over 38 percent.  And others have suggested in the week before the deadly embassy attacks Obama was absent from such meetings. By contrast, Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush, almost never missed his daily intelligence meeting according to former Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen.

To be fair, the White House claims the president reads his daily briefings everyday if he does not attend the meetings personally.  But the irony remains that while candidate Obama campaigned on putting intelligence at the forefront of his administration, President Obama, even if he is reading, is not attending and engaging.

In the wake of current events and world affairs, any neglect of the intelligence community seems ill advised.

    And to add insult to injury this Impostor-In-Chief has sent 50 United States Marines into harms way at the embassy in Cairo but will not allow them to possess live ammunition. While that limits the marines to only a 50/1 kill ratio vs. the Islamic radicals, there are more than 2500 of them gathered around the embassy.     This administration trusts the Muslim Brotherhood to protect our sovereign territory more that the Marines. DISGRACEFUL!

      If America reelects this commie, she will get what she deserves-total annihilation. It will just prove that 80% of Americans shouldn’t be allowed to vote. We’ve had warning after warning about this revolutionary Marxist who actually want to destroy this country and yet we run to the polls to vote him back in.     The word “intelligence” is probably what scares Obama away from attending these meetings.

    Public opinion, on the other hand, is more his speed since he is more concerned with his self inflated image, no intelligence required.

    412 hours spent with Intelligence briefings compared to 600 hours spent golfing, pretty much says it all.

    And that is not counting the vacations and continuous campaigning.

    There is an empty chair in the Oval Office!!

    And even if the chair wasn’t empty, there would be an empty suit setting in it.

      When I was active duty navy in the 80′s, tracking submarines, we held a daily briefing every morning for what had happened since the day crew went home. It included the commanding officer and top staff. I know, because I conducted a few.

      He has lost control, he’s lost his abilities. Look at him in some of the recent photos; he dosen’t know what to do. You see it in his face – you hear it in his voice.

      Be very afraid people – anything, whatever it is, will only come back to do damage to us. He’s operating on fear. No one is defending him anymore, and if they are, there is little substance.

    Putting intelegence and Obama in the same statement is part of the problem but MAKE no mistake this the result of HIS actios over the last 4 years…..I feel sorryfor those embasy staff and Marines who sit undefended by this president while the poor Marine in the photo has to salute this ***** every day…..Simper Fi brothers ansisters in arms….hold the line till Nov…then there might be hope…but of course there is the nov -jan lame duck time to watch out for too….this week has been this bad what are we to expect in the next few months….all Americans need to know these are not errors in judgemnt by Obama…the totality of his actions over theyears only lead to one truth..Wake up people.!

    But he did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

      They only consider it homosexuality if you love a man.
      If you have sex with a man, well that’s just for fun for them.
