We’ve seen some amazing, often stunning footage taken by GoPro cameras lately — F-15 fighter jets flying, a motorcyclist being launched into the air in an accident, a deer-motorcycle collision and countless videos from athletes. But this GoPro clip takes a slightly different angle. It shows the footage of one who stole the GoPro cam, leaving it on during the get away.
The twist: the thief was a seagull.
Apparently the seagull did not find the still footage being taken of a sunset near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco as interesting as what he himself could film while flying over the water along the shoreline. Watch the footage and see if you would agree:
The YouTube user who uploaded the video, Nathalie Rollandin, calls this “flying video from a seagull’s mouth.” Not only did the camera manage to survive the ordeal, but luckily Rollandin was able to retrieve it. The footage was posted earlier this month.

At this point the seagull drops the camera. You can see Rollandin running to get it. (Image: YouTube screenshot)
Gizmodo writes seagulls stealing GoPro’s is now a “thing,” as a separate incident of camera theft by a fellow bird occurred in France in 2011.

Sep. 13, 2012 at 4:26pmBecause of the poor economy, that seagull was hungry enough to steal the camera because of Bushes policies that Prez Obama is working hard to correct…so you stupid rednecks better vote for him !!!
All hail the New York Giants !!

Sep. 13, 2012 at 4:50pmSea gull was obviously a democrat.
He is a ,who stole something he couldn’t even use, and when he found out he couldn’t eat it he dumped it like a piece of trash on someone else’s property for them to pick up.
The only good thing he did was capture a cool video (which like all good things dems do), was only by accident.
Yep, proof he is a dem.

Proof positive.
To his credit he did capture an interesting video but like any thing good that a dem does it was purely an accident.

Sep. 13, 2012 at 5:04pmVery cool and what’s best is the seagull was smart enough to know to put it back on land. He could have dropped it in the ocean, but chose not to. Maybe being called a “bird brain” is a compliment after all. I’ve read crows are nearly as smart as small children.

Sep. 13, 2012 at 2:30pmREPORTS: No Live Ammo for Marines
Marine blogs say U.S. embassy did not authorize service members to carry ammo
U.S. Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt were not permitted by the State Department to carry live ammunition, limiting their ability to respond to attacks like those this week on the U.S. consulate in Cairo.
Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson “did not permit U.S. Marine guards to carry live ammunition,” according to multiple on U.S. Marine Corps blogs spotted by Nightwatch. “She neutralized any U.S. military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy.”
U.S. officials have yet to confirm or comment on the reports. Time magazine’s Battleland blog Thursday “Senior U.S. officials late Wednesday declined to discuss in detail the security at either Cairo or Benghazi, so answers may be slow in coming.”
If true, the reports indicate that Patterson shirked her obligation to protect U.S. interests, Nightwatch states.
“She did not defend U.S. sovereign territory and betrayed her oath of office,” the report states. “She neutered the Marines posted to defend the embassy, trusting the Egyptians over the Marines.”
While Marines are typically relied on to defend U.S. territory abroad, such as embassies, these reports indicate that the Obama administration was relying on Egypt’s new Muslim Brotherhood-backed government to ensure American security, a move observers are questioning

Sep. 13, 2012 at 2:53pmI see Sea Gulls on the beach pick up Snails, fly high over the sidewalk and drop them to crack the shell then eat them.
This was one smart Sea Gull… it knew better than to look into the lens so the Gull Cops wouldn’t have a picture of him.

Sep. 13, 2012 at 11:40amWhen I was San Diego for the first time, my wife and kids were eating some KFC from a box. A seagull swooped down and grabbed the box and took off. Didn’t go far but had had enough time to start eating what was left in the box. When you were walking down the pier to get the sub, you had to keep an eye on the gulls flying around because they would swoop in a try to crap on you. I saw many sailors that got dumped on from behind.

Sep. 13, 2012 at 11:31amToo bad we’re not seeing HD videos of Obama actually doing his job. If you strapped a camera to his chest you’d see fundraisers, golf courses and the occasional bow to some Arab head of state.
You’d need another camera on his back to see the media lined up to kiss his posterior…and Michelle occasionally kicking it to remind him who wears the pants in the family.
