Who’s the Woman Behind the Viral Video ‘Obamacare Summed Up In One Sentence’?

On Wednesday, Glenn Beck played a viral video that has been viewed more than 800,000 times. The video, “Obamacare Summed Up In One Sentence” features Dr. Barbara Bellar, a Chicago woman who is also running for a State Senate seat in Illinois.

Dr. Bellar is not your typical politician and certainly does not fit the mold of a “Chicago” politico. In fact, she’s:

An ex-nun
An Army Reserve vet
A family practice physician (as she says, “from cradle to grave, from diapers to diapers, from womb to tomb”)
A lawyer
A motorcycle-riding, animal lover

TheBlaze spoke with the unique candidate and discussed the video and her candidacy for the district that covers southwestern suburbs of Chicago as well as the city’s 19th Ward — a Democratic stronghold. She won the Republican primary after winning the endorsement from the Chicago Tribune last spring.

So what’s the story behind the video? The GOP candidate was speaking at a “Women for Romney” event in Chicagoland in late August. There, she delivered a run-on sentence blasting Obamacare and its implementation. To be clear, she didn’t write it, and it’s been attributed to many different folks — including Donald Trump. But Trump did not write it either, and we do not believe he has ever used the full sentence. In fact, it has been bouncing around the internet since March 18, 2010 (that’s the earliest post we could find).

But while she cannot take credit for writing the clever rant against the Affordable Care Act, Bellar does say that she should get kudos for her delivery and that her status as a medical doctor adds credibility to the presentation. You can watch that delivery below:

“So, let me get this straight (this is a long sentence), we’re going to be gifted with a healthcare plan we are forced to purchase, and fined if we don’t, which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a congress that didn’t read it, but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes, for which we will be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that’s broke. So what the blank could possibly go wrong?”

  JROOK appears to like the fact that we all get the same kind of health care that Barbara Wagner received from the state of Oregon. Since the system was broke, Oregon chose Physician-assisted suicide for Barbara since it was cheeper than the Tarceva that may have prolonged her life a few more months. $4,000 per month vs. $100 one time. I went to the Doctor yesterday and he told me that they ONLY take a certain amount of “Obamacare” patients per month. And if you happen to be out of that window – then you could be waiting over 3-4 months for treatment.

If he wins this election it will be because the Progessives are experts at convincing us that we have NO power — when in fact we have ALL the power.

On Reagans desk was a plaque – it read IT CAN BE DONE —
We need to keep that in our hearts this election.
WE CAN REPLACE OBAMA if we work EVERY DAY to do so.

That was fantastic. Writing and language when used to convey a point in an artistic fashion is incredible. And she made it entertaining which is about the only way to grasp a modern American’s attention. The thing about writing, essays, compositions – is that it’s really no different than a picture, a painting. All of the previously mentioned falls into “Composition” Hence a painting getting called a composition, song writing called composing, and Composition 101 in college. It’s all an art. The only thing that matters in composing is knowing how to communicate an idea from one mind to another, and knowing what information they are looking for, and want to hear, and how to touch their mind with a certain format. Composing is an art, and that’s why Composition 101 is amusing to me when one professor will circle an error in their opinion while another professor will not. Grammar matters less than conveying an idea, and an intelligent person looks through the grammar to realize what idea or perception one is conveying. But most of it has to do with knowing what information people are looking for. That makes me not a very good conveyor because most of what I say misses it’s mark, but to be a good conveyor I’d have to convey what I’m not interested in conveying which would be the same thing everyone else already conveys having already been said. That means our minds are just alienated from each other.
