Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton meets with Libyan Ambassador to the US Ali Suleiman Aujali, Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at the State Department in Washington. Credit: AP
Libyan Ambassador to the U.S. Ali Aujali believes that rioting anti-American Muslims across the world think the U.S. government is behind an anti-Islam film that’s sparking outrage, he told Fox’s Greta Van Susteren on Thursday. In fact, he shared his personal belief that those behind the film are “terrorists like anybody else.”
Van Susteren asked Aujali to clarify after he laid blame for the protests on the controversial film. When she asked if people understood that the American government was not behind the video, he couldn’t deny it.
“It is very difficult to distinguish in the Middle East now, because of the different system we have, that when anything comes from the country they believe that the government is responsible for that,” he said.
He then quickly moved to label those behind the movie “terrorists.”
“I believe now that Terry Jones and his colleague, the one responsible for this move, are terrorists like anybody else because they are responsible for what happened in Benghazi”
Aujali made those comments despite saying earlier that the attacks on U.S. embassies were carried out by a “very small” group of “stupid people.”

Sep. 14, 2012 at 9:31amthen by that definition, Ali is a terrorist as it was his people… his citizens, who attacked and killed our citizens ON AMERICAN SOIL. Guess it’s a good thing for him our intrepid journalist wasn’t such a patriot he responded to the act of war by attacking the nearest representative of the animals that did this… oh wait, that would be the radical islamist thing… and then blame the victim… and claim it is Christianity that is evil.
do you suppose this is what’s gone on throughout the ages, historians jotting down a bad rap for the cause of crusades when maybe it was attacks by radical islamists on Christian caravans/ pilgrims? I doubt it… both religions have blood on their hands, but Christianity has accepted modern thinking and is increasingly tolerant of other religions, whereas Muslim teachings at least…
as yourself… if you were a modern woman, would you rather live a muslim in a Christian society or as a Christian (or muslim) in a Muslim society…

The British newspapers are very enlightening. Within 5 minutes of the Drudge headline, the Obama White House comes out with this lie to try and cover their tails
The Dis-information campaign of the US Gov’t wants the majority of the population (75%) to think that the truth is Tea Party fiction and Lies are the Truth (everything Obozo say’s)

In pinball, that means “game over”. Obama knew nothing about foerign affairs three and a half years ago, and now he ridicules Romney for not having international affairs experience? apparently, Obama knows nothing but apology and appeasement. Sep. 14, 2012 at 9:05amUnlike Aujali, I don’t find it “very difficult to distinguish in the Middle East now.” Terrorists are those who responded to Zawahri’s jihad in retaliation for the drone killing of Abu Yahya al-Libi.
Americans were savagely murdered by his cohorts, and the fewer of them who enter this country for any reason, the better.

Sep. 14, 2012 at 9:03amWhatever happened to discussion and diplomacy? Immediately using violence and killing people who had nothing at all to do with this film is just sad. I wish the leaders of the Muslim world would come out together and declare that the US is not responsible. It might relax people a little bit.

Baloney. So they have a “different system.” Big deal. Don’t they have the ability to reason? Or is their reasoning so clouded because they’re hell-bent on putting the infidel to the sword. Perhaps they really just can’t think straight. Maybe they’re incapable of reasoned thought. Maybe it’s in the genes. But there’s nothing in this world or any other, not their prophet, their violent “holy book,” or thousands of years of “culture” that give them the right to do what they have done. And Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama bowing down to honor their “cultural differences” will only embolden these thugs and put more Americans in harm’s way.

Sep. 14, 2012 at 9:29amI have to respectfully disagree. Pres. Obama and Secretary Clinton don’t have the freedom of the average citizen to criticize another country’s cultural and religious differences. They have to be diplomatic in everything thing they say or do. Our success in Foreign Policy depends on it. It is always a balancing act of standing our ground while not making cultural judgements regarding other People’s religion or differences.

Sep. 14, 2012 at 8:58amso, he himself does not think that the US government is behind the video. Nor is that the thought of the Lybian government. He’s says people in the middle east (not all of them) may feel this way. He in fact blames that book burning turd Terry Jones for this mess. I have no idea if that claim holds any water, but he surely is not blaming the US government. The title is misleading. some people (no definitive number or nations) feel the US is behind the movie. The ambassador thinks that terry jones is the movie maker and he labels terry as a terrorist. the title of the article leads you to believe the lybian guy is calling the US terrorists. that is not the case.

Sep. 14, 2012 at 9:22amHe did not DENY that he (or his gov’t) believes the US gov’t was behind the video … he said that it is the custom in his country to believe “that when anything comes from the country they believe that the government is responsible for that …”
So the question is: Does follow his own country’s customs? If he does not (at least in this instance), he should have most definitely stated so.
Just because someone does not admit something does not mean they do not believe it.

Sep. 14, 2012 at 8:53amAny thinking person knows the film is only a pretense. The attack in Libya was a pure military attack. The riot in Cairo was a planned event. The film was used to draw a crowd. I think the other attacks were planned but the film was used as the rally cry by the riot planners. If the region wasn’t so strategic (Suez Canal) we should sequester the entire Middle East. At this point in time, we should cut all funding to Eygpt and Libya.
There I have stated the obvious.

This was not done accidentaly, this movie and the 9/11 date were deliberate. Find a local Coptic Church and you will find literature in the church about the persecution of their brothers and sisters in Egypt. My friends are no longer allowed to own property and have had it taken, literally taken from them in Cairo. They have no recourse, The Muslim Govt is out to destroy their way of life. They have no jsutice system in place and are judged under sharia law as infedels. Dogs are treated better than Coptic Christians.
The Coptics are one of the oldest Christian Religions in recorded history. They were waiting for Christ to come long before his birth in Bethlehem.

Sep. 14, 2012 at 8:35amTerrorist are those who insight terror upon another person for political reasons, or religious reasons (any form of intolerance really). Terror means one is in fear of one’s safety, property or life. A homemade movie that is anti-Islam does not make a person fear for their life. If that was true, then Christians are being terrorize by Hollywood all the time (how many anti-Christian movies have they made?)

Sep. 14, 2012 at 8:45amI agree with one thing he said…in those countries, if anything comes out of that country, the government is behind it. They don’t understand our rights and freedoms. Just because someone does something in THIS country, doesn’t mean it was sanctioned by the government. Look at all the Tea Parties….this government certainly didn’t sanction that. So, in their minds, the government is behind it.
And that makes it all the more scary.

Sep. 14, 2012 at 8:22amAnyone wishing to find the makers of the film, the real sponsors for it look to one of three spots:
Egypt, Muslim Brotherhood or Iran.
The films release, ‘discovery’ and the coordinated attacks and protests in so many nations have the hallmarks of a major regional power or major NGO (the Muslim Brotherhood) arranging this to have happened.

While he experssed his sorrow for the death of his “tennis partner” (Ambassador Stevens), he really showed no remorse towards the actions of the terrorists who attacked the Embassy.
There was no sense of urgency to tell the truth about the US and freedom of speech. There was no speech about deterring any more reaction to the film., just criticism…. WHY…. because it was not the film. Time for him to leave the US.
The film is only a scapegoat, and he KNOWS it, but can do noting to stop it because of the lack of power the presiding government has over Al Queda. Time to send in the ” shoot to kill ” mercernaries.
It was an pre-meditated attack to commemorate 9/11
As a Muslim…. He lied to the American people and is not to be trusted.

Sep. 14, 2012 at 8:16amIt is hard to believe your going to change a race of people that have never known freedom in the past thousand plus years. I say cut off all funding and let them go back to being what they are. These countries take our monies from the government use, the people see nothing, so why do it? I have no problem helping those that are truly trying, but as history repeats itself –the only way to secure peace is when those that hate know you are not going to stand for it threw the power of your military. It is not to say you will always use the force , but just to know we can will give second thoughts to those that call our bluff. Obama has nothing going for him but golfing—he is NO LEADER home or abroad. —VOTE OBAMA OUT—HELP AMERICA HEAL HERSELF FOR OUR KIDS SAKE—Pres.
